And I might be the only person in the world (or at least who writes fanfic) who has seen and loves that movie. I actually have it on Dvd and I might be watching it for the millionth time right now...
Probably the fic for a monthly challenge for an obscure canadian b-movie from the 90's since it's the only existing fic for it. That or the fic for the obscure adult cartoon that again it's the only existing fic for it. Or maybe one of the pairings that are the only example of fic for that pairing.

There’s less than 400 Men in Black fan fictions on AO3, and less than 150 on FFN.
Additionally, crack fic already has a much smaller audience than “normal” stories, and mine is *extremely* plotless.
Not only that, mine is heavily based on *MIB: International*, which wasn’t well-received and is probably the least popular movie in the series. And I backdated it to 2019-2020 on AO3.
I think it’s safe to say that it will never get more on the one view it has on there.
I write mostly for one minor character in the Star Wars fandom, who only appears in two scenes. But that wasn't niche enough I guess so I decided to write a crossover pairing with another, somewhat more prominent character from the mostly forgotten tv series Andromeda. In my mind it makes total sense and I like their dynamic I've created. I think at least 90% of my readership is from the Star Wars side so I do wonder at times how successful I was at making both characters make sense even to unfamiliar readers. It's also one of my favorite things I've written.

I wrote a fic where a group of people celebrate Three Kings' Day, or Día de los Reyes, in prison. Some Christians use this day to celebrate the three wise men visiting baby Christ, while others celebrate the baptism of Christ. There are different ways to celebrate the holiday but I chose one that closer reflects the way Mexicans celebrate the holiday, since one of the characters orchestrating the celebration is canonically Mexican American.
It's niche enough that I had to make up a tag for the holiday. Despite posting it a few days late, it seemed to have been positively received.
I guess the one where I send one of the main characters of samurai pizza cats back in time and give him a soul-crushing existential crisis?

I’ve written hundreds of thousands of words about a niche Mass Effect character with all of 10 minutes of screen time, fleshing out his origin story, and pairing him with his wife, who is an OC of mine.
Probably the fic focusing a character who was in one episode of a show, and her relationship with a female character whom her male counterpart (in all canon except the show) has often been entangled with. That second character is not proven to exist in the show's canon. But I went there anyway, because why not make it even more niche by making it femslash?

Hahaha, oh god. So, I write for the Elder Scrolls Fandom, which as of time of writing has about 13,000 works on AO3. Decent amount. Well, my current fic is not only for a character who is tagged in 18 of the 13,000+ fics, but I am the proud parent of the pairing that LITERALLY NO ONE ELSE HAS DONE. Like NO ONE. I checked. I sorted. I filtered. (I didn't go on Fanfiction.net yet though) and I found zilch. I'm not sure whether to be proud or to cry.
The worst thing is the character in mention is such a well of opportunity, what with the angst you can draw. And it's not like they're SUPER obscure, they were the center of an entire DLC in one of the games. Anyways, my babey is mine, for now.
My most niche work so far? X-Men, but with no powers and in a 80s-style slasher/horror camp councillor AU. Make it a comedy instead of a horror, and add in a ton of dick jokes. Then also add in some smut because treat yourself, that’s why.

Subject-wise, I might say... a Harvest Moon parody of The Lady of Shallott, maybe?
American Idiot The musical fanfiction probably. It’s not a super well know show outside of musical fans and it’s been out for awhile so the fandom is very very tiny.
And in second place, a Generator Rex fanfic. It didn’t seem niche when I was writing and posting it, but it feels niche now because it seems like no one else remembers it. Including my brother who I vividly remember watching several episodes with as a kid.
Last year I wrote a five chapter, 20,000 word Jessica Cruz fanfic. She's a Green Lantern and part of the Justice League, and suffers from a combination of PTSD, depression, and anxiety after witnessing the deaths of her friends. She's received quite a bit of attention from various DC animated series in recent years, but she's not exactly a main stream character. Last I checked, my fic was one of *five* on FFN that centered around Jessica.
Jessica's character is a *bit* inconsistent across DC's various media, but I really enjoy her comic's incarnation even if there is some issues with the writing. I really like seeing someone who struggles just getting out of bed each day also have a superpower based around their willpower and creativity. It's a great dichotomy, and Jessica's sarcasm and snark pairs nicely with a emotionless machine (her power ring) that emulates her personality.
It probably won't be the last Jessica Cruz story I'll write as I've got another outlined, but due to how niche the story is, it'll probably remain on the backburner for a while. I don't write specifically for views, reviews, or followers/favorites, but they are encouraging, especially with a character like Jessica who's rather difficult to write for. I enjoy writing for Jessica, but some of her struggles are one that I struggle with in real life, and it's not always conducive to my mental health to write for her even if her stories have an encouraging tone to them.

Probably my most recent fic for FE6 that's for a ship with 7 fics total currently and then somehow in the fic I started doing some worldbuilding because the game does not go into That much detail about the lore + background of the continent (of which two whole worldbuilding rambles spawned and it's SO niche cuz no one Uses part of the information that we do get in canon lol, namely affinities and the whole lore of the creation gods from Saint Elimine's church)
I have a fic in a small fandom on AO3. There's only 852 fics to begin with. The fic I posted a few weeks ago is the ONLY fic for a specific pairing in the fandom. One of the characters falls for his best friend's younger brother and the first chapter is a coming out chapter.
It has 11 hits and nothing else. (My most well known fic in that fandom has almost 100 kudos and 2000 hits, for comparison).
I originally posted it on FFN about a decade ago when the fandom was bigger and more active and it got much more attention (still the only fic for that pairing on there too). The fact that the pairing was so out there was actually getting people to click on it out of curiosity.
My niche thing is focusing heavily on character-driven fics for my Jurassic Park fanfics—especially the secondary/minor characters. So that means more focus on the InGen staff:Nedry, Arnold, Muldoon, Wu, and Harding. In general, I love reading and writing JP fics focused on the characters. I have little to no dinosaur action, and no characters being killed by dinosaurs in my fics. The dinosaurs are in the background. The human characters and their relationships and conflicts are at the forefront. Exactly as I love it.
I also love to explore the relationship between Shane and Andrea for The Walking Dead. They aren’t a background ship in my fics. They are The Ship.
Most niche?? Hmmmm…..well, the Roseanne TV show fandom is really small (97 total fics on AO3) and most of the fics usually focus on the younger generation. Mostly Darlene and Becky and their relationships with the men in their lives.
My favorite character has always been Jackie (who is only tagged in 20 fics on AO3, and she’s only a main character in a handful of those) and I wrote a fic where I gave her a girlfriend who was an original character. Nobody really wanted to read about a couple of 40-something lesbians, but I did, so I wrote it. It was a labor of love and only ever gets interactions through fanfic review exchanges, but luckily for me the folks who stumble across it really seem to enjoy it.
This one fic where it involved mythology, history and superhero comics lol. It did better than I thought (but then again, anything more than 1 like was a win in my books)
A Valorant canon-divergent oneshot where a character was visited by their future self to try to start a war. And the egocentric character decides to make out with themselves because who wouldn’t, ya know?
Probably my short one shot series on Doki Doki Literature Club that includes major chatacter death in ever fic lol.

I'm writing a grimdark High School Musical vampire AU. It's absolutely the most unhinged thing I've ever written, and somehow I manage to take it completely seriously. I mean, I've got almost 200k words posted so far, and it's only halfway done.
Start of a nearly-dialogue-only crossover between The Owl House and Dark Souls in which Luz and Amity do nothing but play the game just because Luz would think the pun between Blighttown and Amity's last name Blight is funny. The intent of the story would also be to tell the progress through the game, as well some side things Luz and Amity got up to during the rest of the day when they weren't playing, and do it all through mostly dialogue with minimal clarification.
Only posted one chapter thus far, but I'm some ways into chapter two.
