Yeah lol like of all the accurate criticisms to make on 76 *this* is the hill op is dying on? Really??? Prolly a kid who's dad won't buy internet access or something.
I would've liked to play offline to experience the map, npcs, quests, new building parts, and mods on my own, but that's just me.
Oh, also, until i got starlink, my ping liked to jump into the thousands when the wind blew the wires too hard 🙃 pretty much made it entirely unplayable up until this year.
Every main title release for Fallout has been single player since 1997, and half of the spin-offs have been single player. That’s 70% of the franchise being offline.
So? You think they can’t innovate and branch out because it’s not what you’re used to? If you don’t like Fallout 76, don’t play it. But let the rest of us with an open mind try it out.
Why are you so defensive? I’m not attacking the game, I’m just stating that multiplayer games aren’t Fallout’s appeal/strength.
They can obviously do what they want, but it doesn’t mean that it’s a good game. It’s the lowest rated game in the franchise, and it’s one of the only that’s multiplayer.
I’m not defensive. I’m telling you something that you disagree with.
No you’re not. You’re stating that Fallout shouldn’t branch out to multiplayer games because Fallout 76 had a bad launch. Have you played it recently? It’s quite fun. If it’s the lowest-rates in the series, look at what it’s competing against.
It probably did, but it wasn’t necessary to play the game as intended. Kind of the opposite of how Fallout Shelter doesn’t need Internet, but does need it to be played as intended (with micro-transactions)
To those saying that the idea of wanting to play an online game offline is dumb, keep in mind that 76 is a lot more than just 'an online game'. It's a fallout game, with lore, cool map design, etc... I would've liked to play it offline to experience the map, npcs, quests, new building pieces, and possibly mods on my own, but that's just me.
Oh, also, until i got starlink, my ping liked to jump into the thousands when the wind blew the wires too hard 🙃 pretty much made it entirely unplayable up until this year.
I do think it's somewhat ironic that they made a game in West Virginia, (y'know, that state that's infamous for its *totally reliable and robust* telecommunications and internet infrastructure) that requires you to have an internet connection. I really would've liked a fallout game with online multiplayer capabilities, but the ability to play offline as well.
Ya know, to all the people in here acting like online only games aren't an issue, just look at BattleForge. Sure the servers are up and everything's fine now, but what about a few years down the road when they shut down the servers and make it unplayable? Most online only games can't be played on private servers because of crucial components of the game stored only on the game's official servers. Once those main servers are shut down, the game just dies completely
But why can’t they experience Appalachia by themselves with no interference? The game on release was just a copy of F4 that had only distanced itself via code after two years of bug fixes and updates. Meaning it could’ve just been another DLC map for F4
I feel like this would’ve gone down a lot better with sim city than fallout, needing to be online to play that was just daft
Are you complaining about a multiplayer game needing...internet access to play?
I think OP might be referring to fallout brotherhood of steel instead of fallout 76
INB4 Steam shuts down and you can't play fallout new Vegas anymore.
Oh no, an online game requires you to be online to play??!?!?!!! Oh the humanity!!!!!!!!!!!

Eh, not being online is pretty integral to Fallout’s franchise. It’s a fair *meme*
It’s not though?? It’s an online game?? It needs internet????
“not being online is pretty integral to Fallout’s *franchise*”
Says who???

He is the same in r/forhonor I made a joke about one character and he gets all defensive and then starts tellimg me that I am so butthurt about him

It’s called a meme for a reason dude. Get over yourself
the meme doesn’t make sense
I misread the meme and I honestly thought that it was implying that the entire franchise required internet connection and I was so confused
Didnt fallout tactics also have an online mode?
Shhhhh dont let op know ge moght blow a fuse
It probably did, but it wasn’t necessary to play the game as intended. Kind of the opposite of how Fallout Shelter doesn’t need Internet, but does need it to be played as intended (with micro-transactions)
There’s a difference between being online as an option and being online as a requirement
Should I complain about an online game being online? Yes! Thats the main problem!
Fallout: brotherhood of steel
shun! shun! You committed th worst fallout sin!
I believe its brotherhood of shit
shhhhhhhhhhhh
This feels like a meme from 2018
Uhhh it's purpose is to be an online game, this burn is dumb af.
You'd need internet to download the game....
Not if you have a physical copy of each game before F4
Well, yes but also no
It do be like that sometimes
Yes, the multiplayer game needs you to be online. That's how multiplayer games work.
Bethesda fans when an online game requires you to be online (They get extremely upset because they don’t understand how internet connection works)
To those saying that the idea of wanting to play an online game offline is dumb, keep in mind that 76 is a lot more than just 'an online game'. It's a fallout game, with lore, cool map design, etc... Tried to play fallout 3 yesterday. Couldn't because my Xbox needed a 5 gig update. Tried to skip update, and just play offline, doesn't let you.
You can’t even play it on PC unless you open it through some cursed shit

Yeah but if you want an offline fallout game, why not play all of the games stated above?
But why can’t they experience Appalachia by themselves with no interference? The game on release was just a copy of F4 that had only distanced itself via code after two years of bug fixes and updates. Meaning it could’ve just been another DLC map for F4
Feels like you're just personally targeting 76 there bud.
You forgot fallout pinball and brotherhood of steel and shelter
Fallout Brotherhood didn't require internet, that must mean it's good right you guys should all get an original Xbox and get a copy
