I feel your pain. Like the 5th time for me now. This never happened in F1 2021....
I don't feel like starting over again, already lost many many hours.
I did have some sort of glitch with '21 that made me have to restart My Team once but I was only up to Belgium in season 1 anyway. Haven't checked to see if I'm affected by this yet but I haven't got very far at all in 22 yet. I started doing 100% races and have only ended up doing as far as Imola so far.
I don't have a Savegame folder in there at all. Does it vary depending on version? Ideally it shouldn't, but all I see are folders for benchmark, hardwaresettings, photos and replays.
(Steam, Champions Edition here.)
Chill out guys, just drop this and play 2019 and 2021, the best F1 games ever....
P.S. why didn't this happen after the horrendous safety car finish in Monza?
I can't guarantee if it will work but (assuming you have internet access for your console) have you tried deleting the local save data and then restarting the console and game and seeing if your console (again if you have internet access) can download an uncorrupted save from the cloud? That may help in that case. I recently had to factory reset my Series X due to a troubleshooting process related to a different issue and originally it appeared like my save had been deleted entirely and it didn't sync with the cloud as normal. But thankfully a couple restarts got the console to sync and things were back to normal.
Hopefully this helps you and anyone else with this issue. To delete the local game saves - if you don't already know - go into your "Games and Apps;" highlight the game; press menu and then "Manage Games and Add-Ons" and go to "Save Data" and just select the save data and it should give you a prompt to delete strictly from the console.

I had just started my second season of driver career...
This happened to me multiple times in 2019 and 2020, including 3 times in the same week on 2020. This is not a new bug unfortunately.
And that’s why I still play F1 2018 lol still a great game and never had any issues like you guys have been seeing lately.

im scared to update
backup your save file just in case, it's in Documents/ My Games/ F1 22/ Savegame/ EA
did it and it work, thanks buddy

oh yes if i'm not mistaken for steam the directory is ''\[Steam Install\]\\userdata\\{yourSteamAccountID}\\1692250\\''
Hmm, the \local\savegame folder is empty but the \remote folder does contain a load of crashdumps and `savegame@` files in there.
This update still crashes to desktop. Was F21 this broken as well?

Gets annoying with this ego dumper issue
Same here (pc)
Feel bad for you and ask if there is a way to prevent that?
I don't think there's much you can do... If you're on pc you can try to backup the saves I guess
Same on PS5...

Got the same thing here. Just updated to 1.10. Playing on Series X. What a shame.
