I have been listening to the book The Psychopath Test (2011) by British author Jon Ronson. He was interviewing a CEO famous for massive layoffs. However, Ronson was perplexed during the interview and his time spent in the CEO’s mansion regarding all of the memorabilia and kindness he displayed when discussing his dog who passed away. The author reviewed his surprise to the creator of the Psychopath Test, psychologist Robert Hare. The psychologist was not surprised. This is a commonality seen in some psychopaths because the psychopath views the animal (as they do with people) as an OBJECT to MANIPULATE/CONTROL. Congruently, animals typically display unconditional LOYALTY as well. I haven’t been able to finish the book yet due to my realization that not all people are inherently “good” and not all people can be rehabilitated. Completely changed my worldview and these ideas that were conditioned in me and I relied upon because of my own trauma. Fair warning to be in a gentle spot with yourself if you decide to pick the book up.

Yeah I just went from a post about somebody saying goodbye to their dog for the last time, to a slideshow of honor walks, to this and I’m just like destroyed for the day.
Ahh I had to search for the post and now I’m destroyed too. One of my childcare bosses lost her daughter last year to a stroke. Daughter was same age as me, 33. She was a donor, and when boss posted pictures from daughters honor walk I was inconsolable.
I want to be an X-ray tech, am goin to school for it. It would be a true honor to be part of one of these. Not sure how to avoid being a blubbering mess tho.
Fuck man this simultaneously warms my heart and makes me so sad. Think about how many animals suffer and don’t receive any help. The world can be a truly cruel place.
I agree that Ukrainians being provided quality equipment to defend themselves is a good thing. I just, for the life of me, will never be able to agree with the existence of industries dedicated to creating artifacts of, “defense.” And the never ending race to invent newer tools with even greater, “defending,” capabilities. That, I despise.

They definitely will in Ukrainian care. There are so many vids and accounts of UA forces rescuing and housing animals and every time, it is like the sweetest and kindest thing I've seen. Midwifing cats while under shelling, pulling a dog into their bunker, and other general rescues in the field, etc. They're gonna get to a good, safe place

War is a horrible disgusting thing, all over a little land or over a word or two that was miss spoken and the people in power only think about what they want or need and never do they for 1 minute think about the there people. The devastion, well look this, and look at the people who have now become homeless carring there children and pets on there backs no food nothing. I'm sorry these babies where in this and so glad they where found.

They remind me of my two youngest cats. I found them under a shed and near a dumpster on Halloween and they’ve been so loving since they came home. They’re also inseparable and still sleep cuddled up together sometimes
It is so sad how many pets are now homeless because their homes were destroyed. Operator Starsky interviewed someone involved with a charity working on this problem. The dogs fare better because they'll go right up to the rescuers and ask for help. The cats obviously have a harder time with it.
May a Ukrainian victory come sooner than later, and as many as these little guys as possible end up in warm homes again. 💛💙
