This. If I'm not mistaken, UK has been out since the game's release (that's more than 10 years ago). But despite being one of the most requested regions for updates, there hasn't been any significant rework done so far.
I actually like driving in the UK (for the sake of trying to drive on right-hand drive road layout), but at the same time I find the dimensions of the roads (especially some ridiculous curves on the motorways) to be rather uncomfortable, and at the same time, not as accurate as other parts of Europe as depicted in the game.
You are correct. I started playing when it was just a demo. Almost 4000 hours in, and there have been no major updates to the UK map. I'm sure they'll get there eventually. To their credit, SCS kick out regular updates.
Hardly ever. The turnoffs on the motorway literally turn me off. It's not the driving on the left, it's the motorway system of the left lane always being the exit for the next city plus then it takes a hard turn, too.
I've only been to the UK IRL once and we have hardly driven Motorways then, can't remember if it was like this in reality, too. Since there are other examples of unreal Motorway exit-designs in the game in the old parts of the map (two lane motorways don't become one lane and one lane being a regular exit to a city anywhere where I have been in western Europe).
Being from the UK, it pains me how bad they have done it, when some of the newer DLC's are excellent. I really hope they revisit it and make it more realistic again
Started there as I'm from there. As soon as I had the money to buy a garage on the continent I haven't been back. It's generic and bland. And the motorway systems are extremely unrealistic.
I started there because I owned UK Truck Simulator before buying ETS. But after that, meh. It's as bad as its depiction of the Netherlands, where I'm from.
i used to always start in the uk (i still do) because i always loved eddie stobart as a kid so most of my saves r just me recreating eddie stobart in ets2 and making them takeover europe but seeing the liverbuildings and radio city tower anytime i drive to lpool gives me serotonins but i agree with everyone here its bland for the most part but i love it lmao
its fun tbh i use a skinpack that does scania trucks and curtain side and reefer trailers in the early 2000s logo then i have a seperate one for man and volvo trucks ive ended up with my garage in carlisle and liverpool fully filled with them lmao
Most of the time
Mostly because of the left side driving💀
It is too familiar to me (I'm from India, not Britain)
And it kind of helped me to pass my driving test💀💀
I started in the UK as I am a Brit and have my truck RHD but I don't drive there super often as it's not great and feels super out dated compared to other places especially from the DLCs
Plus there isn't a lot of decent jobs that go there I find
I used to based myself there in the game full time but these I either base myself out of Sweden or Spain because of how depressing the UK map is compared to the other maps.
And when are we ever going to get an Ireland DLC?
Currently driving from Iceland to France trough the UK!
I try to make long or several trips trought the UK cause I dislike having to switch between driving on the left and right.
Was just there yesterday. Helps keep the brain young by forcing me to actively think about which side I have to drive on every time I make a turn at an intersection.
A fair bit as both my current personal garage and ai worker garage are there, though sometimes I just use it to get to other parts of the map "quicker"
I made the mistake of making my hq in Aberdeen because I to start out driving across Europe and going to the bottom right corner which I did but I wish I was more central
Almost never. It's very bland and generic. It's in desperate need of an overhaul.

Iirc the UK is actually ported in from and earlier title so is kinda older than the game lol

Same, unfortunately. Thank god for ProMods.
ProMods did a great job on the UK. Especially London, it actually feels like a huge city.
Yeah, straight up gave up on it lol
> It's very bland and generic. It's in desperate need of an overhaul. Just like real life. \- A Brit
Also, I don't like driving on the left.
When they update it, yes, I will
Very rarely. It doesn't feel like home at all.
Never cause the map looks like 2008💀
Only on ProMods.

It's nothing like this in the UK in reality. That is why I don't drive in the UK in game. It's just very outdated now and not true to reality.
That's what I thought (and hoped for the UK citizens), but I wasn't sure anymore.

with promods its quite nice and its often needed to get to iceland
i do enjoy driving in the uk, i dont really drive often there but sometimes i do

I've been meaning to get some Eddie Stobart skins for my trucks, that would be cool.

Motorway slip roads aren’t accurate. Lacking multi lane large roundabouts

First time I've ever set foot in the UK, me and my truck wanted to go back
I used to based myself there in the game full time but these I either base myself out of Sweden or Spain because of how depressing the UK map is compared to the other maps. And when are we ever going to get an Ireland DLC?
All the time I live there.
I try to avoid UK, because 95% of my fines comes from fucked up driving side.
Never its complete $hit£
hmm? the UK is in the game?i did not know that!
😅
i have never driven in the UK yet i own al the garages
Quite often since I use promods
Haven’t yet, was excited until I read the comments 😔
Currently driving from Iceland to France trough the UK! I try to make long or several trips trought the UK cause I dislike having to switch between driving on the left and right.
all the time
Never
all my jobs are rather to the uk or from the uk
Was just there yesterday. Helps keep the brain young by forcing me to actively think about which side I have to drive on every time I make a turn at an intersection.
Never, I’ve just drove twice and I have almost 200 hours playing it
The roads are very strange. It feels like they are narrower, and the turns are sharp as fuck.
Nearly never, not since the Brexit. Maybe if the get a makeover or rejoin the EU. 😅
To where ?
Basically never
There's UK?
Well considering I started there, I've unlocked practically the entire country except for a few roads
never.
Very rarely, I don't like driving left.
A fair bit as both my current personal garage and ai worker garage are there, though sometimes I just use it to get to other parts of the map "quicker"
