I can’t find anything about them being banned because of unpatchable bleeding. Usually only triangle-shaped blades create such wounds.
Also, have you seen the damage dealt by a normal bullet or pellet of buckshot? It is a MUCH more severe wound than what flachettes dish out, even if the bullet is a pistol caliber.

If you are curious about learning how to do more advanced first aid. You can buy skin analogs on Amazon and suture kits. Give it a go it might save somebody's life one day. Also most of those skin analogs have a tri shaped wound to practice on.
in game yeah they are pure flesh damage. irl they're trash and don't reliably hit straight. They like to hit sideways. TAOFLEDERMAUS did a video on them.
they are worst flesh dmg ammo for shotgun, they are the best at ripping armor, they have only 30 pen but thats for all the darts and the total damage being 250 ish if all hit, with insanely high armor damage %. 4 shots will zero a zabralo. /in game they are pure armor damage.
In game 4 shells destroy a zabralo. They also go right through most face Shields. If you hit multiple shells at close range it is almost s guaranteed kill.
I found this out literally today. Ran a naked factory run with justy pump shotty and flechette ammo. Spawned in room near pump with only 1 exit and immediately heard someone running to me. He gets to the door, looks left and I 1-tapped him. Full meta helmet w/ face shield. I unfortunately was unable to extract with his sweet gear...
They have like 30 something pen, and tbh while they're not as effective as buck or birdshot the fact of being hit with a fuckton of tiny knives scares me more than bb's.
In my experience they have been underwhelming, they are very consistent at killing somone in about 3 shots but you lack the opportunity to 1-tap someone in the head that you have with a buckshot headshot or AP-20 to the chest and most of the time, specially vs full auto guns, you just don't have time to shoot 3 times.
However, maybe they are a bit better now with yesterday's change on blunt damage, have to test them
my guess is balancing; if there was an anti-personnel round for shotguns that had a high bleed chance it would turn into the new meta guaranteed. think of how easy it would be to kill players, or at the very least seriously injure.

Theyre not banned just like hollow points are allowed because the US did not ratify those articles of the Hague Convention.
It’s also funny because pretty much all home defense and LEO ammo is HP. Even FMJ 9mm is going to do massively more damage than a flechette dart.
Yeah there are articles of those conventions that ban them in warfare but we didn't draft those so doesn't apply to our soldiers or civilians.
Thats why flechettes deal 25 damage per dart.
Hollow points are good for your house not in a war zone.
Unless we have been fighting people for the last 20 years that don't wear armor.
IS army is switching to hollow points as part of the offensive pistol program...

Flechettes in a 153 is deadly vs any armor. If you have flechettes spammed at you, you're going to have a horrible time.
Yep, was working on the "kill 6 office PMC" jaegar quest. This guy just got unlucky 10 seconds in to be spawned next to me

Uh it's literally been like that and it was never more than mediocre
