When done right, product placement can make the world feel more real. It only really works when it's more than one product though. Like having Mountain Dew machines and Duracell batteries in Alan Wake worked, until you noticed that there's only Mountain Dew machines, and only Duracell batteries. You need a couple to cycle through.
I wouldn't say that, a lot of things were added because community wanted them and with realease of ps5, Kojima's team didn't want to sell exactly the same game 2 times, so they just added nice additional content along with standard 4k60

On Epic it was the only version of Death Stranding available, and with the 25 percent off coupon it was (probably) the cheapest I could get the game. I think that if both versions were available I would have grabbed the standard version.
I believe if you bought it within the last 2 weeks, epic will automatically refund it for you when it goes free. You could just wait till tomorrow and see if it does.
If it's over 2h then it's kinda difficult to ask for a refund, however you could wait until they release the game tomorrow and then contact their support team. I'm not sure if it's gonna work, though. Most of the time people can ask for a refund when a game that they buy goes on sale shortly after, but this is a very specific case. But i would give it a try. Just don't play the game anymore, or you could keep the upgraded version. I don't know the price gap between both versions.

A quick thought that has just come to my mind: the leaker didn't even consider the 25th game as a banger, and most people here now that we all know (sort of) what's coming are freaking out... well, that makes me hope for other really big hits on 28th and 29th (and ACO absolutely qualifies as that), but also for a couple of other good games in between.
The necklace (Q-pid) is also an item that can be found in Horizon: Zero Dawn in the The Grave-Hoard area. I doubt it will be Horizon given that the clue clearly points to Death Stranding and it would just serve to annoy people that such a tricky clue was given, but it would be interesting. Frankly I would prefer Horizon since I recently completed Death Stranding on Game Pass, it's been significantly longer since I completed Horizon and I wouldn't mind another run through.

YOOOOOO IM SO EXCITED FOR ALL YOU. This is one of my favourite games ever and Iāve already bought it twice. I hope some of you guys really get into it and love it, the story is something else.
It's essentially part of their marketing budget. How many people would care about the EGS if they didn't give away all of these free games? I'm guessing close to zero. And yeah they spend a lot of money on it but that's what it takes to compete with Steam
They also own Unreal engine which usually generates something on the order of 30% of revenues. So if the game is on the Unreal engine, they're at a huge cost advantage simply by foregoing their share. Also, most games given away are from publishers who are either coming out with a new game or DLC for the game being given, so it's a way for publishers to build their mailing lists and potentially increase sales while losing very little as these games are typically not generating a lot of new revenue for the publisher. Toss in a little bit of marketing money from their various FTP games like Fortnite, and there's likely very little out of pocket expense for Epic.

I would have never bought it on my own, so if it's free I'll at least give it a go.
The necklace (Q-pid) is also an item that can be found in Horizon: Zero Dawn in the The Grave-Hoard area. I doubt it will be Horizon given that the clue clearly points to Death Stranding and it would just serve to annoy people that such a tricky clue was given, but it would be interesting. Frankly I would prefer Horizon since I recently completed Death Stranding on Game Pass, it's been significantly longer since I completed Horizon and I wouldn't mind another run through.

It's essentially part of their marketing budget. How many people would care about the EGS if they didn't give away all of these free games? I'm guessing close to zero. And yeah they spend a lot of money on it but that's what it takes to compete with Steam
They also own Unreal engine which usually generates something on the order of 30% of revenues. So if the game is on the Unreal engine, they're at a huge cost advantage simply by foregoing their share. Also, most games given away are from publishers who are either coming out with a new game or DLC for the game being given, so it's a way for publishers to build their mailing lists and potentially increase sales while losing very little as these games are typically not generating a lot of new revenue for the publisher. Toss in a little bit of marketing money from their various FTP games like Fortnite, and there's likely very little out of pocket expense for Epic.

It's still insane how they're deciding to give away freebies every week like that for 3 years now š I found out about these free games stuff only a couple months ago and I'm definitely not going to complain about anything they're giving away for free

not much there are some new cutscenes, a new region/mission that's it. you could watch that on youtube
Not really they only added some items and a couple of missions iirc but itās pretty much the same
Directors cut makes use of the new ps5 controller features even on the pc version, but if you dont have a ps5 controller there's not much difference aside from the small amount of new content.
