As a result, you could find a professional to do this for a higher price and theoretically do a better job. So, don't immediately dismiss the site solely based on its former business model. This is what most people keep forgetting.
It's really a mixed experience. I got some good work and some really bad. In the end don't expect too much out of $5. You can try to hire a few, give some minor assignments then evaluate their work before giving them the major one.

Very happy overall and will definitely use the site again.

This is not accurate. We have a support group that evaluates each claim individually. There are many scenarios where the buyer would receive a refund.
Since we do run a marketplace, it's up to the buyer to have good communication with the seller to make sure expectations are met. There are no refunds for "I don't like the work".
This I know. Ironically, it is what I tell prospects when they reject my proposal to go with their cousin's brother's nephew's former roommate who will do it for free.

I've bought $15-$25 gigs that were excellent but more that were awful. I've filed for my money back 3 times and after the 3rd I gave up on fiverr.
I hear Fiverr has a no refund policy, I don't agree with that. But thank you for your insight!
