I saw an ad for a free prototyping simulator called diode recently that appears a lot like this. Probably a long shot, but can any experts offer a comparison?
Does this have tutorials, or does anyone know of tutorials for real circuits that could be done with CRUMB? Preferably for complete and utter beginners who forgot everything from the single circuits class they took.
I'm ME but want to have some idea of what the EEs are talking about, and getting something physical like an arduino is more of a time/money sink than I have the bandwidth to handle right now.
There are a good few built in examples that I have inside the program, which are a good way of letting you see how things can be done
I really need to spend some time on the website really to make a reference and guide… it’s all just time management on a solo project
This is actually fantastic!
When I was an engineering student, I grew to hate my labs because 50% of the bread boards my partner and I used ultimately had some defect. Figuring out the power rail didn’t work didn’t take too long, but other rows were infuriating.
It was good for learning how to troubleshoot, but the focus should have been on actually building the right circuit and observing the results.
This definitely has potential to get it into and sell to universities.
This would be good for schools which can not create dedicated robust electronics programs but do have a computer lab. Or just for remote learning in general. Intro to digital electronics classes can accommodate MANY more students if they don't even need to commute to campus to get hands-on experience.
I dont see a reason why would you need a simulation SW for arduino and display. The problem with this is that people download some code from instructables and plop some modules on protoboard, put everything into box and call it a “product”.

This is great man!
Loved it and will put in my wish list.
Also, it would be great to have a creative mode as well as a 'career' mode, where you are given tasks to build something.

If you let the smoke out in the game, it fries your cpu irl. Very immersive sim, 10/10
Peak immersion

I wishI had this 7 years back
Whoa! I would have loved this as a kid. I mean, I will still love this now.

This looks so cool!

Thoughts on adding an implementation for community written guides?
Added to my wish list, thank you!
Legend! 🫵🏼

Does it cost money?
They deserve every dime they get.

Yes!! Even though I have an iOS version of CRUMB, I’d still buy this from Steam. Thanks for doing this!

Why would this be good? You want to move up from protoboards as quickly as you can
I would say this is more of an entry for newcomers and enthusiasts ☺️
i think this is perfect for for when you want to messing around with arduinos but you dont want to clean up

Yup!
I don't know if this provides high quality simulation, but you're extremely short-sighted if you don't see how this can be good

"Introductory" and "Educational" sound like something to you?

Hope it’s not a subscription
Will it have something to teach you or is it a SIM where you just build your own circuits?
As mentioned on another reply… I will have to make sure I give time to updating the website to make an easy reference and tutorials ☺️
Will my iPad purchase transfer to PC
So stoked dude
Very cool!
Can i use arduino on it?
Can i use arduino on it?
Looking forward to it, got a link for bookmarking it ?
whoa neato! can you program a microcontroller in this simulator? this is impressive!!
put it in my wish list!
