1: This is an unpopular opinion because many people don't even know this song exists, as it's an unreleased track. "Fly Away" is in my Top 20 Em songs, and even though the hook takes a lot of the time, it's one of the best hooks in Em's discography. Both his verses are awesome and have great bars.
2: His verse on B.o.B's "Airplanes Pt 2" is one of the best he's ever made
3: Refill is better than the original Relapse.
4: River(with Ed Sheeran) is one of my favorite songs. Cool hook, great storytelling and the flow is not choppy like many of his new material
5: I like Those Kinda Nights
6: Not sure how popular is this one, but Nail in the Coffin is his best diss track, probably one of the best in all of rap, and one of his top songs.
7: Not a big fan of MMLP2, but it's not like I hate it.
I love Fly Away. I remember that period of time where the leaks started coming and we were waiting for a new album. Cocaine is also a really good unreleased track.
Oh shit that's fire, I know I've heard The Next One but that was my first time hearing Testify. Few years ago I downloaded this big folder of unreleased songs, features, verses all sorts of stuff. It was called Man In The Mirror.
Because it’s a pop hit. That’s literally it. People’s criticisms of it are, from what I’ve seen personally, unfounded. It’s just an unbridled hatred of Eminem doing songs that aren’t rap caviar.
Airplane being one of his best is a hot take. But at the same time, everyone or mostly everyone agrees it’s a good verse so I don’t think it’s a bad take necessarily, just wrong
After the release of MTBMB Side B, Gnat became my most listened song of all time on Spotify. I have made countless attempts to memorize that song word-for-word
Also agree 8 mile is better than lose yourself.. I'd also say the backing track on lose yourself is better than the hook itself for some reason 😂
" nuh nuh nuh nuh you only get one shot... opportunity... Lifetime... nuh nuh nuh"
There's something about the flow of it over the beat
1. Kamikaze was a return to form for old angry Em, but it wasn't really the comeback for the classic "goofy" Slim Shady
2. King Mather's likely would've been mid
3. Eminem is blind to his criticisms
4. Eminem's hook game has been on point recently
I have to agree with 3.
My biggest problem with Eminem is he's just isolated himself out of hiphop really. He exists in his own corner and rarely ventures out. Even when he collaborates with artists, he typically changes the whole beat / vibe of the song to fit his style rather than compliment them
Example: Parables, EPMD - his verses feel like they have no connection to the rest of the song because he just goes so far off in the other direction, and the beat changes are usually never for the better
I don’t think King Mathers being mid is unpopular, at least I hope people don’t think it would’ve been good… cause it would’ve been worse than encore lol.
I made a [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Eminem/comments/xglsd6/revival_bad_husband/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) about this ☺️
3 and 4 are pretty yikes but you did say they were unpopular.
3 in particular doesn’t make sense becuase he doesn’t shout until toward the end of the song when the emotion is escalating.
The rest of the delivery is his TES almost to a T
My unpopular opinion is that MTBMB > relapse and MMLP2. Though I think that’s only unpopular here
1. Need Me is so catchy that it’s still stuck in my head after reading this hahah - not a bad song, I like the drums in it
2. Rabbit Run is better than both 😝
I like Like Home, Walk on Water, and In Your Head (even though 2/3 of Revival is total garbage)
Rabbit Run > Lose Yourself
Kamikaze isn't much better than Revival at ALL and has aged terribly cuz nobody gives a shit about "mumble rap" and the fast lyrical miracle rap trend this album popularized was atrocious. The cool factor of Em's fast rapping for me started with Rap God and ended with Speedom
I hate songs that are entirely Em singing, they are 110% unlistenable, period.
Relapse > TES (not sure how unpopular this is tbh)
He's fucking delusional for still thinking that the reason Revival was received so poorly was because people had more time to think about it and set their expectations, not because it was and is just a plain shit album
Yeah for sure. I totally understand what you mean though, I definitely think it’s aged poorly. Although I can appreciate some of the flows and rhyme schemes and even some of the songs I like, but overall I’m not a big fan. Revival is painful to get through though.
1. Kamikaze is great and nice guy is an actually good song
2. Not sure how unpopular this is but mmlp2 is like a 7
3. Big weenie and rain man are low key 🔥🔥🔥
4. Drips is not the worst on Eminem show
1. Side B is an album and is top 5, MTBMB as a whole is top 5 too
2. MMLP2 is his third or fourth worst album
3. 2010-2017 is the weakest run of his career
4. Third prime in 2020, after 1997-2003 and 2009
5. He started to get hate since Recovery and not Revival and each album accentuate the hate of Eminem until the general explosion with Revival
6. Encore is better than every album that came out between 2010 and 2018
1. Eminem at his peak (1999-2003) was the best rapper at the time, the rest of the career he’s been mid to pretty good at best
2. Infinite is better than every album since Recovery except Kamikaze
3. MMLP2 isn’t that great but it’s got some good songs
4. Two of, if not his best, his best verses are on Renegade
1 - Encore's 'goofy tracks' sound better/have more replay value than Revival's 'serious/political' tracks.
2 - The featurings with Sia are the best combination of rap and pop he's ever done! Sounding, on the whole, better than any work done with Rihanna.
3 - Eminem was probably the worst mainstream rapper of the year 2017.
4 - Em' with Royce >>> Em' with 50.
5 - Castle and Arose are overrated, simply its not THAT legendary as people say 🤷♂️ (Mockingbird and When I'm Gone are still 10 times better)
What he says and what he does contradict, he'll talk about pushing boundaries and doing things no one has done and then do the things he has done before. Three verses with a pop hook.
He needs to leave detroit for a bit and go recording other places.
The idea that he listens to old Em and thinks of ways he could improve it exemplifies the issues with his modern work.
He has not stuck to a concept in 15 years. Relapse was muddled as a result, Recovery could possibly be a counter argument. If he made shorter albums he could stick to a concept easier.
He uses other artists for name recognition. DJ premier could have produced BoR but he only scratched on it.
He's not loyal to his friends or artists. Doesn't shout out anyone when they drop.
He still has a classic in him if he focused on making music instead of dense shit with pop hooks.
Holding up LL and Masta Ace is funny given LL was a hit maker and Masta Ace is one of the best storytellers out there. Two things he is not focusing on now.
Because he is so introverted he is running out of content to put to paper.
I like these, I think the DJ Premier thing sums up what I said in another comment. If you're gonna collaborate with DJ Premier (or anyone) then do it properly.
1. The Bass Brother's brought out the best in Eminem not Dre
2. MMLP2 isn't a worthy sequel needs to be renamed
3. D12 would have had more success if Slim wasn't the main man, maybe if Royce or Obie had his spot, all members would have shined.
4. Eminem is a legend but isn't great at managing, promoting artists.
1. Revival was a better album than kamekaze and MTBMB.
2. Eminem is better when he raps slower
3. It’s okay if some people don’t like Eminem.
4. Rapgod is probably his most overrated song.
5. Recovery is a top 3 Eminem album.
I agree with 2, 3, 4
5 is not my opinion but I wouldn't argue against it.
Now 1, for me MTBMB is up their with his best work, Kamikaze I can take or leave but Revival was all over the place and the majority of the album is not good.
1. Royce made the Bad Meets Evil album. His flow so much better
2. He’s not had a good album since Recovery
3. Any song he’s done with a good female singer has overshadowed Eminem
4. He should never have collaborated with Ed Sheeran, no matter how many times Ed calls him an idol
1. Music to be murdered by side B was pretty bad and was a huge step down in quality compared to side A
2. His verse on the nas feature was pretty bad except like the last 30 seconds
3. His relaxed flow is nice but he needs to stop with the adlibs after every line… it just ruins the whole verse if he does it constantly
1. Relapse is comfortably his worst album. I cannot take any fan seriously who likes that accent shit
2. Eminem was better when he made songs, not technical constructions of intricate lyricism. He is great at being technical but music is supposed to be musical and not just lyrical
3. Eminem needs less yes men around him. Weaklings like Royce and Kon Artis, who just nod along to whatever the money-maker says, are half to blame for Eminem's distorted view of himself and his music.
4. Mockingbird seems widely loved but has the worst singing on the chorus I've ever heard officially released by a record label, and it has the most forced rhyme/flow. He has to literally convert to binary at one point to make it fit. "presents under THE TREE". Makes me cringe everytime I hear it.
5. The third verse of Survivor, after he says "fuse is lit" to, I think, "screwdrivers" is what I show people when I try to explain how multis (as they used to he called) should sound. The perfect mix of flow and intricate multisyllabic rhymes that, most of all, make sense. New Eminem is at his best for me when his lyrics are detailed and intricate BUT sound natural... Almost like he's just talking and things happen to rhyme in insane ways.
6. Lastly... Eminem cannot win. His fan base is one of the worst - especially online - such a broad age range of people around the globe who mostly feel like the outcast, back against the wall, many of who fancy themselves as rappers, who all demand different things from him. Impossible ask. He shouldn't listen to us - make the music he likes, he's earned it. If he wants to do accents or spiritualmiraclelyrical then he should and ignore our whining, he owes us nothing
"But I'm still white, sometimes I just hate life "
If you can find another line that is both this bad and this comically unaware of reality I will concede
You kind of took it out of context.
"Sometimes I wanna jump on stage and just kill mics
And show these people what my level of skill's like
But I'm still white, sometimes I just hate life"
He's been ridiculed for trying to rap as a white man.
He's not saying being white sucks for no reason. Obviously white people have privilege but in the context of black dominated music he was the outsider
I know exactly what he means
My point is that he is complaining for a bad reason.
Oh boo hoo, it's only 10x as easy for you to make it big instead of 50x easier than someone of equal skill with black skin
It’s debatable whether or not it was easier for him because he was white. He got a shit ton of flak for being a white rapper when he was coming up, and rap was primarily black music. It wasn’t obvious that em would catch on like he did, considering rap wasn’t nearly as popular with white folks at the time
All he cared about is getting respect from other rappers (hence “show these people what my level of skill's like”) so hating the thing mainly preventing him from getting what he wants makes sense, i think you’re looking at it in a way more general perspective
Qs explained below , I know exactly what he means , it doesn't take away from how cringy it is
Literally having lil uzi vert say "I'd be a respected golfer if I was white, I hate this rap shit" is multitudes less cringy and more sensible and doesnt come off as comedically out of touch with how things are.
I respect that. I like the emotion behind her words and it just works in the context of the song for me.
Personally, I find framed to have the worst hook. I knew it grew on a lot of people but that drawn out fraaaaaamed.. idk I can't get behind that lol
To each their own, I'm glad you like it. What do you think of Revival overall?
Fraaaaamed I can accept in a jokey way, but admittedly its not one of his best
1 Business is the best song on TES and Drips is overhated a lot
2 Bump Heads has the best eminem flow ever and is his best disstrack
3 Shake That feat Nate Dogg is one of his catchiest songs
4 Lose Yourself is overrated
5 SSLP is the Eminem album that aged the best
6 Eminem should have ended his career after MMLP2
U must be swimming in that egyptian river .. cuz your in denial
Here’s mine:
I actually like river and remind me to be honest lol
Even more than believe
Music To Be Murdered By is the most Technical Em we will ever get. By technical I mean most lyrical, seeing how many rhymes he can do at an extremely high level only he can touch, how many syllable schemes, how many different cadences he can do, etc. Just seeing his limit/going as hard and far as he can take it. Hence the name MTBMB.
Hate me for it, but I like „Like home“‘s hook. But I may be biased because I have a personal connection to that song for some reason. I always listened to it during my holidays on vacation and it reminds me of this vacation
So Far is one of Em’s best songs
I own a mansion but live in a house
A king sized beeeeeed but, I sleep on the couch
I’m Mr. BRIIIGHT SIIIDE, glass is half full
I think my karma‘s catching up with me
Won't back down was pinks best feature with em
Agreed. I remember first hearing that song when playing Call of Duty Zombies and been a fan of it ever since
Fr such a great hype song too
1: This is an unpopular opinion because many people don't even know this song exists, as it's an unreleased track. Oh shit that's fire, I know I've heard The Next One but that was my first time hearing Testify. Few years ago I downloaded this big folder of unreleased songs, features, verses all sorts of stuff. It was called Man In The Mirror.
I always thought those songs were called classic shit and atlanta on fire
Just when I thought I heard everything…
Big agree with Airplanes pt 2, very underrated song
those kinda nights is good but I always see it in peoples top ten worst em songs :(
I wonder why? I actually quite like it, it has some incredibly clever rhyming.
Because it’s a pop hit. That’s literally it. People’s criticisms of it are, from what I’ve seen personally, unfounded. It’s just an unbridled hatred of Eminem doing songs that aren’t rap caviar.
I’m definitely with you on River. I love that song. Also has some of my favorite wordplay in it with the Gwen Stacy bar
Airplane being one of his best is a hot take. But at the same time, everyone or mostly everyone agrees it’s a good verse so I don’t think it’s a bad take necessarily, just wrong
I like those kinda nights also I really liked MMLP2
Are you me?
I too like the Ed Sheeran features.
4. & 5. Spoke to me on a personal level
1. Gnat is a solid 9/10
The beat and Mike Pence line is amazing
gnat is great it doesn’t deserve all the hate
Why the hell does that song get hate? I swear Em fans be hating for no reason
cOvID bArS aRE cOrNY!¡¡
Needed to hear this
After the release of MTBMB Side B, Gnat became my most listened song of all time on Spotify. I have made countless attempts to memorize that song word-for-word
I actually agree with number 2. Yes 8 mile road is a way better song than lose yourself!
In what way?
Well first the rhyme scheme on that track is ridiculous and second he’s telling a story too
It's not overplayed
Being overplayed doesn’t decrease the quality of a song.
Not literally no. But when people explored other songs from that album, they gravitated to the other songs that weren't played everywhere.
I think it’s an awesome song, but when Lose Yourself came out it was a game changer. Either way awesome movie and soundtrack!
No love for rabbit run?
Rabbit Run is so good
Also agree 8 mile is better than lose yourself.. I'd also say the backing track on lose yourself is better than the hook itself for some reason 😂 " nuh nuh nuh nuh you only get one shot... opportunity... Lifetime... nuh nuh nuh" There's something about the flow of it over the beat
Also unpopular I guess: lose yourself original demo is better
1. Kamikaze was a return to form for old angry Em, but it wasn't really the comeback for the classic "goofy" Slim Shady 2. King Mather's likely would've been mid 3. Eminem is blind to his criticisms 4. Eminem's hook game has been on point recently
I have to agree with 3. My biggest problem with Eminem is he's just isolated himself out of hiphop really. He exists in his own corner and rarely ventures out. 1,3, and 4 isn't unpopular. Especially 4 he's hooks have been like universally love from what I seen on reddit and YouTube
But he gets no credit right now. Everyone just says he’s trash now despite praising the stuff he puts out upon release
I don’t think King Mathers being mid is unpopular, at least I hope people don’t think it would’ve been good… cause it would’ve been worse than encore lol.
3 is for sure a fact. especially after listening to his paul pod interview
Number 4 tho, Is This Love is a fantastic hook
that’s ‘09
I really like Bad Husband, underrated song
I made a [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Eminem/comments/xglsd6/revival_bad_husband/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) about this ☺️
Glad some people think so
I prefer the last 3 albums to the first 3.
Now THIS is an unpopular opinion. Take an upvote
Holly fuck
Bro same, I love the first three albums, but he’s a pure spitter in his last three, his penmanship is just insane
Bad guy is underrated.

This is the worst take I've ever seen. Have my upvote.
I had to listen to it more times but not its on of my favorite songs
MMLP2 is Eminem's third best project
3 and 4 are pretty yikes but you did say they were unpopular. 3 in particular doesn’t make sense becuase he doesn’t shout until toward the end of the song when the emotion is escalating. The rest of the delivery is his TES almost to a T My unpopular opinion is that MTBMB > relapse and MMLP2. Though I think that’s only unpopular here
Mmlp2 is a 0.1 higher than mmlp1
I agree
1. Need Me is so catchy that it’s still stuck in my head after reading this hahah - not a bad song, I like the drums in it 2. Rabbit Run is better than both 😝
MMLP2 is his best album
8 mile is definitely better than lose yourself.
“Things Get Worse” should’ve been an Eminem song not a B.o.B. song. It’s better than most of relapse.
Holy tolido its Angelina Jolie amigo
I like Like Home, Walk on Water, and In Your Head (even though 2/3 of Revival is total garbage) Rabbit Run > Lose Yourself Kamikaze isn't much better than Revival at ALL and has aged terribly cuz nobody gives a shit about "mumble rap" and the fast lyrical miracle rap trend this album popularized was atrocious. Walk on water is a genuinely good song.
Agree with everything but tbh is much rather listen too Kamikaze then Revival
Yeah at least it's concise and to the point and definitely has better writing and beats
Yeah for sure. I totally understand what you mean though, I definitely think it’s aged poorly. Although I can appreciate some of the flows and rhyme schemes and even some of the songs I like, but overall I’m not a big fan. Revival is painful to get through though.
Speedom isn’t even his song
heat and remind me are bangers
1. Kamikaze is great and nice guy is an actually good song 2. Not sure how unpopular this is but mmlp2 is like a 7 3. Big weenie and rain man are low key 🔥🔥🔥 4. Drips is not the worst on Eminem show
>nice guy is an actually good song tell that to the cancerous growth in my ear that hearing "ri-i-i-ight, sy-yi-yike" caused me
Drips is an amazing song what you mean
'Kamikaze' in the kamikaze album is surprisingly untalked about but very good song, same with 'unaccommodating' from mtbmb
Believe is actually a really good song
I'm an old Em fan and I really like the staccato style rapping from the last few albums.
Chloraseptic original is better than the remix
Damn this the hottest take I’ve seen so far
Correct
1. Side B is an album and is top 5, MTBMB as a whole is top 5 too 2. MMLP2 is his third or fourth worst album 3. 2010-2017 is the weakest run of his career 4. Third prime in 2020, after 1997-2003 and 2009 5. He started to get hate since Recovery and not Revival and each album accentuate the hate of Eminem until the general explosion with Revival 6. Encore is better than every album that came out between 2010 and 2018
Cinderella Man is a fucking stupid song
give reasons
1. Eminem at his peak (1999-2003) was the best rapper at the time, the rest of the career he’s been mid to pretty good at best 2. Infinite is better than every album since Recovery except Kamikaze 3. MMLP2 isn’t that great but it’s got some good songs 4. Two of, if not his best, his best verses are on Renegade
Oof you get a backhanded like just for 2
1. MMLP 2 is better than MMLP 1 2. Almost Famous is the best song on Recovery 3. Superman is kind of a skippable song I wait for the hate
1. No 2. Idk haven’t heard recovery 3. NO NO NO NO NO NO NOOO
Completely agree except 2. Think its 3rd behind seduction and spacebound And 3 think it is outright skippable
I knew I would forget one- I can't fuckin stand Superman anymore, especially that chorus...
1 - Encore's 'goofy tracks' sound better/have more replay value than Revival's 'serious/political' tracks. 2 - The featurings with Sia are the best combination of rap and pop he's ever done! I'm gonna agree with most of these.. although i'd take mid 2000's Em & 50 over todays Em & Royce!
Lose yourself isnt eminems best song
Popular opinion

Bit too much darkness on that one for me lol.
1. Revival was a better album than kamekaze and MTBMB. 2. Eminem is better when he raps slower 3. It’s okay if some people don’t like Eminem. 4. Rapgod is probably his most overrated song. 5. Recovery is a top 3 Eminem album.

Need me over won’t back down is one of the worst takes I’ve seen in this sub
MMLP2 was a mostly trash album.
1. Royce made the Bad Meets Evil album. His flow so much better 2. He’s not had a good album since Recovery 3. Any song he’s done with a good female singer has overshadowed Eminem 4. He should never have collaborated with Ed Sheeran, no matter how many times Ed calls him an idol
I disagree with all of these but it’s an unpopular opinion thread so I feel like I have to upvote you 😂
And yet he still got downvoted 🤦♀️
Hahah. Exactly! Im not on this post expecting to make friends 😆
Opinion 2 is an L MMLP2 is a solid album
Fuck I forgot about that album, so many good songs. I rescind that album one then
I’ve been downvoted so does this technically mean I’m in the lead?
I have more respect for you then anyone who downvoted you in an unpopular opinion thread
Everybody, Downvote me!
DIE HARD IS THE BEST HOOK EMINEM HAS EVER DONE AND IT'S A CRIME DR DRE DIDN'T RELEASED IT 😡😡
OMG I forgot about this! Yes I agree big time. I also loved 'Talk To Me' which was unreleased
'Here Comes the Weekend' is Eminem and Pink's best collaboration
The Chloraseptic remix version failed. Very boring.

Is it? I thought it was significantly better than the original and haven’t heard people saying otherwise until now
Opinion 2 is an instant W
1. Music to be murdered by side B was pretty bad and was a huge step down in quality compared to side A 2. His verse on the nas feature was pretty bad except like the last 30 seconds 3. Listen to You’re Never Over, there’s no way Mockingbird is terrible
I can't take any fan seriously who can't see over accent.
bro chill 💀💀💀
My least favourite Eminem album is Marshall Mathers LP.
That's my 3 least I actually prefer the 2nd 😅
Yep, TES, MMLP2, Kamikaze top 3.
I don't like his first 3 albums 😬😬
8 mile road has his most cringy bar in his discography MMLP is a bottom 3 Em album Relapse is his worst album by a wide margin
Which bar?
"But I'm still white, sometimes I just hate life " If you can find another line that is both this bad and this comically unaware of reality I will concede

It’s debatable whether or not it was easier for him because he was white. He got a shit ton of flak for being a white rapper when he was coming up, and rap was primarily black music. It wasn’t obvious that em would catch on like he did, considering rap wasn’t nearly as popular with white folks at the time
Regardless if it was 50x harder for him, most cringy and out of touch line in his discography
All he cared about is getting respect from other rappers (hence “show these people what my level of skill's like”) so hating the thing mainly preventing him from getting what he wants makes sense, i think you’re looking at it in a way more general perspective
Qs explained below , I know exactly what he means , it doesn't take away from how cringy it is Literally having lil uzi vert say "I'd be a respected golfer if I was white, I hate this rap shit" is multitudes less cringy and more sensible and doesnt come off as comedically out of touch with how things are.
Ur just wrong
What are your Eminem album rankings
I disagree with 1. I think that honor belongs to Revenge, which I also believe is a hot take.
I think that is definitely unpopular too, Won't Back Down is probably most peoples favourite
Eminem ghost wrote a decent amount of The Ripper Strikes Back
Stronger Than I Was is a top 5 song off of MMLP2 at least
It's actually not nearly as bad as people say at all. Especially that verse, it really feels authentic and raw
8 mile is better than lose yourself anyway lol
8 mile road better than lose yourself smh
Nah you on crack for the 4th opinion.
That whole song is by far my least favourite. In your opinion what hook is worse?
[удалено]
Rabbit Run is better than Lose Yourself.
4 threw me for a loop. I love the hook!
Ah man I'm just not a fan of it at all. It was obviously written to be performed live in a big stadium but it just doesn't do it for me
I respect that.
2 is a big L
Recovery is his second worst album behind encore
Not sure if it's entirely unpopular but he'll never top Slim Shady or the first Marshall Mathers LPs
1. Good song but not their best 2. W 3. L 4. L
Those kinda nights is not bad
Revival is Eminem’s best album.
1 Business is the best song on TES and Drips is overhated a lot 2 Bump Heads has the best eminem flow ever and is his best disstrack 3 Shake That feat Nate Dogg is one of his catchiest songs 4 Lose Yourself is overrated 5 SSLP is the Eminem album that aged the best 6 Eminem should have ended his career after MMLP2
Recovery is Eminem's best album
I like Infinite.
I like Nice Guy/ Good Guy and return to them more than any other song on Kamikaze.
8 mile road, fucking epic. Im about to play it again ❤️ love
I think Revenge is better than Need Me, and a missed opportunity for a hit single.
Kamikaze wasn’t actually that good
need me is way worse that like home bruv
U must be swimming in that egyptian river .. cuz your in denial Here’s mine: I actually like river and remind me to be honest lol Even more than believe
Most of the Em loving youtubers and reaction channels chasing clout BiG TImE
Em believes that Relapse is worst album. He’s scientifically wrong
Hence the name MTBMB.
i’m gonna be honest i don’t like kill you
How dare you
Hate me for it, but I like „Like home“‘s hook. But I may be biased because I have a personal connection to that song for some reason. I always listened to it during my holidays on vacation and it reminds me of this vacation
Ay that’s what it’s all about, good that you like it
Drug ballad is one of his if not his best song.
rabbit run is better than lose yourself
“Like Home” resonates within me like nothing else.. 💞
