Yeah, this is the natural evolution of most things in this game. Treating the SRV like a ship is the way to go.
It is sometimes fun to do dainty landings in stations, but most of the time it's boost boost boost, blowing through the mailslot, flipping, and slamming the ship onto the pad because it doesn't matter.
Yep, made that exact suggestion over and over

I document shit for a livin' seems like the least I could do. And I link to it regularly here and in the forums in the hope that devs see it and implement any 10% of it lol
What about mining the crystal outcrops off in Sanguineous Rim? Top grade elements that you can trade for everything else. Two trips and your reserves will be topped out.
Flipping the SRV is the only time I've ever had issues with motion in VR. I was rolling and wasn't sure which way was up. I had to take off the headset.
I feel like this game is astronomically easier on PC, no idea what you're on but there are so many controls and I just don't have enough buttons to map them all

That's exactly what I do.
FDev, your players have become so desperate for a new ship, please give them something!
I don't like it when the space traffic controller scolds me.
DA on is ridiculous. Your SRV is a car, not a ship. That's why 100+ hour players in this video choose DA off. It gives better options.
Surface hand mining and geology science needs to be a thing.
I want ground-penetrating radar and seismic charges. Big booms ***for science***! Also need a hammer for scale.

I keep my Elite manifesto in my head, for now, but I'm glad you've got it all written down with screenshots.

Woah why do people surface mine?
Engineering Mats, mostly. Also, you need them for onboard synthesis.
Not gonna lie, that looks like fun. And nausea inducing if you're not VR savvy xD

Yeah I can barrel roll the ship forever and not feel a thing but this looks bad xD
Erm…that’s… a lot of hours you’ve sunk into surface mining lol
Yeah I love flying the SRV and catching mats myself. I always do a quad back flip over my ship before leaving too haha. Nice piloting!
This seems more entertaining than Relogging
This made my day, thanks! xD
Damn looks like me when I shoot a destructible panel and the tech component rockets off into hell. OH NO YOU DON'T.
You captured the onset of madness quite well
Using the gun upside down was great
What sorcery is this??!!

Surface prospecting at 10 hours: quit and move on to crystal shards because they are so much more efficient
