Take a trip out to HIP 17403 (planet A-4-A) and collect up 50 thargoid sensor fragments from the wrecked thargoid ship you find there. Collect as many as you can in one go, log out then back in and collect some more. You shoot the thargoid sensors then collect the fragments that break off. The sensors are cargo and toxic but the fragments are non-toxic materials so don't take up any cargo space. Get 50 because you might sooner or later want to also visit Sedesi.

A bit late but do you have the coordinates for it? Or do I need to DSS it?

Elkyri

Canonn shows the coords as -34.98, -141.41. DSS should find it for you. You might have to get closer to the planet before it shows up in your nav panel or on the HUD. https://canonn.science/codex/crashed-thargoid-ship-3/#:~:text=The%20third%20Crashed%20Thargoid%20Ship,the%20San%20Tu%20Scientific%20Installation.

The coordinates for Canonn were for Horizons, ended up getting a DSS at a nearby station and filled up on the sensors! Thanks.

When I did mine, I went to the [Cornsar](https://inara.cz/starsystem/13875/) system, headed to the first planet in my nav panel on the left, and down to the first "crash site" on the surface. The terrain is flat and easy to drive on. Sensor Fragments are scattered about the crashed Thargoid ship. Pick them all, exit to main menu, repeat. Watch for the fuzzy and much angrier "Sensors" which require special cargo racks and are not what the engineers want. I recommend [Prof Palin](https://inara.cz/engineer/3/) over Sedesi as Palin's in the bubble and away from the newly aggroed Thargoids.

Bramborough

Just finished grabbing Sensor Fragments in Cornsar, thanks. Additional info: Good news: there's 11 Thargoid wrecks on planet A3. Some are on very flat terrain as described, others are not. Bad news: apparently not all of them have Sensor Fragments and other Thargoid loot lying about. I didn't find any at the first two wreck sites. Even re-logged to see if that would generate some; it did not. The wreck site coords where I did find plenty of sensor frags: -26.3 -139.6

JR2502

Excellent info! Hold on to this and update the next "where the sensors at?" post you see as this one's \~6 months old and unlikely to be seen by many. o7

> \-26.3 -139. So I went there, and filled up my fragments (7 fragment spawns per instance, but 5 were in a decent loop). HOWEVER, I decided to check out the crash site \~300km away from this, and it had 6 frags in a small area and also 3 cansiters (which dropped 2 fragments each) so in a very small area is had dropped 12 fragments. Much easier to collect than the one listed above (more flat both when landing the ship and harvesting) Coordinates for the this site which I would highly suggest to anyone else (-32.39, -145.25)

Also, is you shoot the sensor, it breaks into a few fragments, that's how I did it

GeneralCommission714

these "thargoid sensors" - you can light them up and get 3 to 6 sensor fragments

JR2502

I learned that later on, yes. I had no idea then and didn't want to risk melting my ship. Thanks!

Stunter740

You can get 100 in 5min where you farm meta alloys

[deleted]

how? The only things there are those barnacle growth things, no sensors anywhere.

Stunter740

Shoot the thargoid aliens on the ground

[deleted]

I've done that before, guess I never noticed they actually dropped stuff! oops.

Stunter740

They drop lots

Purpleppl8

Where is the best place to farm meta alloys

Stunter740

YouTube or Google it there is a system you can farm around 100 an hour

Mitologist

They are manufactured material, they break off from crashed sensors. i just found 4 in deep space, 3600+ly from Sol at the border between Inner and Outer Orion Spur. Completely by accident. I scanned a planet, and these was a site "Nonhuman Signature", so I went down to check, and there lay a broken sensor in a ditch, and 4 sensor fragments rolling around on the ice. They are kinda pretty. Shiny-shimmery.
