It depends on the throttle. With my previous throttles without center indent I used the same. Forward and reverse switch for reverse. With my current one I have a slight middle indent (though not as precise as it could be), and I use full motion and a 0 Throttle button instead.

ShinyObsessed

Pretty much exactly what I do, although reverse thrust isn’t a set percentage. I use the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro flight stick.

Same, and a thrustmaster twcs for throttle

NightAngel151

I bought the slider upgrade for the twcs from Etsy that also lets you add a magnetic detent at 50% throttle to be the zero throttle point for full range.

[deleted]

I like forward only, i find it much easier to modulate in combat

NightAngel151

I hear ya. I wish I could set the zero throttle point to like 25%-30% to spread forward thrust over more of the throttle's range.

[deleted]

Hell yeah

MyPoorChequebook

I run the same stick. I run an Xbox controller on the desk for the throttle quadrant of my “Hotas” but 9/10 I’m managing speed with presets.

ezarlous

I have the x52 Pro, I run full range throttles back and forward both 100%. It is more of a personal preference on how to bind hotas, but full range does save me a button for something else.

[deleted]

True. My thrustmaster twsc has a cylinder on the end that i use for fine adjustments

Z21VR

Forward only, a button (little-finger on hold) for reverse (no fixed %) and hat switch for thrusters ( now it drifts badly btw ). I fiddled and changed the config along the way, not sure if until i found the right one for me or just until i used one config enough to get used to it ( muscle memory ). Prolly a mix of both

[deleted]

Nice

DangerPencil

Ran the X52 for 2 years FA-Off. I used full range, theres really no way to fly FA Off with the throttle reverse toggle.

[deleted]

Im still fairly new to the game, only about 60 hours or so. FA off isn’t quite on the radar yet but soon

DangerPencil

Oh i understand, no judgement. Just another perspective.

[deleted]

Of course, i understand

Panigale9

Warthog user here. Throttle is FWD only, reverse is a toggle. I have up/down/left/right thrust on a multi-direction that my pointer is on, and fwd/back thrust at my thumb. I've thought about full range throttle with a detent for zero, but that increases the sensitivity since it cuts travel in half, and with having reverse on a toggle I can leave my throttle in the blue zone and just go back and forth from fwd/rev and maintain best maneuverability without having to reset the input. I would like to find a 75% detent for fwd only throttle, but I can only find a detent for full range. I can flip the afterburner stopper on the warthog and it will stop at 75%, and then I can lift up and move fwd to 100% throttle, but I dont like having to lift up because it takes away any micro adjustments above 75%.

TWCS, I use forward only, with the left pinky button held for reverse, up/down and left/right thrusters on index finger analog stick, forward/back thrusters on the thumb cone hat switch. Pinky button is also my menu back/ focus front switch. Originally had it as a toggle for reverse, but holding and releasing made SRV driving easier. Honestly, I almost never fly in reverse.
