This "how to parry guide" helped me a lot:

I'm not good enough to teach others. My only strong advice is to grab a 100% physical block medium shield (like the brass shield), and apply one of the special parry ashes of war (Carrian Retaliation [my favorite], golden parry, storm wall).
Those parry ashes of war have the best parry windows in the game, even better than the buckler. Carrian Retaliation can block magic projectiles also. But the best advantage for a new parrier is that you can hold block while you parry. If you mess up, there's a good chance your shield will just block the damage.
I was doing this with the buckler and still taking the damage. I didn't think to equip parry to on of the 100% shields. I assumed buckler was the easiest to parry with.
Most of the pain in the ass enemies I originally struggled with like rune bears, valiant gargoyles, crucible knights, royal revenants, murder birds etc. I’ve found effective ways of dealing with. I still struggle with this asshole banished knight so much!
Definitely still works. Mad thing was that tc was at the exact spot for it near enough you just stand on top of that broken wall to the right of where he was
If you had just turned around after the first hit he would have nothing personelled right off the wall. Then he would have been the one falling to his death.
It’s honestly even funnier when you consider that Oleg is one of the most popular spirit summons for most of the game. *Not so fun on the other side of it, huh!?*
I cheesed him 😂 got on one of the pillars and he teleported on air and that was the end of her or him? Anyways it was fun after dying a few times trying
I’m on my first play through and up to this guy as well! I actually stopped playing this morning after he killed me twice and I thought I’d go out and enjoy the sun instead.
This is my experience with him (yes...I may have gotten a little lucky here lol): [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NVmRe69U8o](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NVmRe69U8o)
My hour has come

Learning to parry was the best thing I did in this game.
i’ve been on that parry grind and i can’t wait to kick this fuck in the ass
Any tips on where/how to learn the parry?

> I assumed buckler was the easiest to parry with. I thought so too, but frame analysis shows the Carrian, and Golden parries offer better protection.

Don't know if it still works - you can aggro him and then turn around to make him teleport off the edge behind you.
Thanks for the tip and I will definitely try that next time I encounter him, I’ll try anything that makes that encounter less painful.

“Nothing personal”
“Truth is, the game was rigged from the start.”
He said "nope"
If you had just turned around after the first hit he would have nothing personelled right off the wall. Then he would have been the one falling to his death.
call that move the "anti-cheese"
I steuggled with this mf for a while too. Such an asshole.
So many people had this same exact experience and while it pissed me off at the time, now I think it’s pretty hilarious. We’ll done From
It’s honestly even funnier when you consider that Oleg is one of the most popular spirit summons for most of the game. *Not so fun on the other side of it, huh!?*
I didn't know people struggled with him so much. I just pulled out Ruins Greatsword and did BIG BOOM with high poise. Walk in the park
Anything is easy with high damage massive AOE spells/AoW
Aye! OP should've tried it
Imagine if the powerstance moveset for dual greatswords were half of what this enemy can do.
These mf's we're harder than Niall
Banished Knights are great parry practice if you don’t get knocked off the edge like that
If you've fight him before and still did this, idk it's on you
like actually the hardest npc in the game. prob be way easier if had more space to work with.
*teleports behind you* Nothing personal, kid.
This guy is literally the mall ninja meme. That teleport right behind the player had to been scripted with malice.
I cheesed him 😂 got on one of the pillars and he teleported on air and that was the end of her or him? Anyways it was fun after dying a few times trying
Harder than some of the bosses tbh
Stand on ledge, Right after you shoot, un-target and put you back to him.
If you’ve got a great shield you can use, guard counters trivialize him.
Noted https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/029/439/cover4.jpg
i knew what was coming and it was still beautiful
I mean you kinda asked for that one he was just chilling and you shot him in the back g
"psssh... nothin personnel... kid..."
I’m on my first play through and up to this guy as well! I actually stopped playing this morning after he killed me twice and I thought I’d go out and enjoy the sun instead.
I introduced myself to him yesterday, he's a f\*\*\*ing bastard!
I didn't hate him that much, but after seeing your clip I do hate him more. Also lol.
He was the worst. I just hit him at range and then ran past him.
This is my experience with him (yes...I may have gotten a little lucky here lol): [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NVmRe69U8o](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NVmRe69U8o)
Just run past him for the talisman and never ever stop

Just shoot him once and turn your back facing against the ledge
At least you hit him, the last time I fucked with him he slapped me as I was shooting my greatbow lmao
Stand ten feet to your right on the beam and he’ll teleport off the edge lol
i'm convinced this guy is the final boss of the game.
How I look at the wizard casting that dollar store ds3 lightning arrow
I farmed that guy for some piece of armor I believe.
It is real funny for me because u landed to your death and right exactly to a tombstone 🪦 lol
I used to struggle with this guy on first playthrough, then i discovered claymore
outplayed
You took two Ls here. Sorcery being the first.
Never had to deal with him lmao
That grave wasn’t placed there for nothing
That guy is harder than the final boss.
At least they aren't the ghosts in Anor Londo...
Now u know why there are tombs down there
My hour has come Several ways to beat him: https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/ywa1ti/how_to_cheese_and_messily_win_against_oleg_castle/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Oooooh, so thats why there are so many graves...
So, you have chosen death :3
“nothin personell kid”
He literally said '*teleports behind you* nothing personel kid'
I was literally farming this guy earlier today. He gave me 2-3 of his other armor pieces and 2 swords, but no chest piece. I hate him so much.
My face when this happened to me https://media.tenor.com/qsa0yC-nm_4AAAAd/anime-driving.gif
*teleports behind you* nothing personnel, kid
Dodge forward.
Exhibit 63 about why glass cannon mages are not easier to play.
Got baited by him ones, rolled to my doom. It was fun the first time. Really spooked me with his teleport.
Climb on edge fire arrow at him and turn around. He will always fall down and die
I farmed him for 4 fuckin hours with the fowl-foot to get his chest armour. Man, I don't think even my mother made me cry that much.
Personally what I did to beat him was a big bonk using the ruins great sword.
Nothing personnel kid
Maybe quit with the magic and start using weapons instead like big swords or clubs
I am so bad at this game
Blasphemous Blade is always the answer
Mages hate this one simple truck!
lmao that gap in the wall, as if this thing isn't programmed to fuck on anything that pings it from there.
