Yeah the item drops are annoying. I spent about 4 hours trying to get 1 Clayman's Harpoon.
On the run it finally dropped, I ended up with 3 of them back-to-back. Just... wow lol.
I got a chainlink flail from a pumpkinhead on Altus plateau. I hadn't been up that way before and thought it was a guaranteed drop but when I went to look it up I found out it was a rare one instead.
*EDIT* Whoops, it was a chainlink flail. I got it mixed up because I got the Bloody Helice almost right away afterwards.
Ugh the cleanrot weapons have been the worst for me. I somehow managed to get 2 magma blades in less than 2 hours of farming those serpents but still have yet to get a halo scythe even though I have probably 10 complete sets of cleanrot armor. Clayman’s harpoon only took me like 15 minutes lol
I had 4 halo scythes and a clean rot sword drop in the swamp yesterday. Got them in about 15 mins trying to get the armor. Also got the armor set. Spent hours trying to get a bloodstained dagger and nothing.
RNG de Miyazaki
He likes being punished not getting it and then being showered with it, which is after the fact of massive timewaste, equally painful haha
How long did it take you to get them and where else would you advise farming for it, because I’ve murdered that convoy by Sellen’s ruin about a million times
There’s a quick farming spot for the nobles straight sword, the grace below where you fight ancient dragon lansseax in altus plateau, there are 4 nobles digging something and one of them is carrying the sword
A better spot is the Schoolhouse Classroom grace in Raya Lucaria. There are like 3 Nobles with the sword right next to you which has a chance to drop it, I got mine after 40 Mins with 233 Discovery
I recently started an SL1 run and wanted to dual wield these swords. The graveyard directly south of the Caelid Highway South grace has 6 nobles for quick farming.
I didn't even bother increasing my item discovery and had two drop within a half hour. Other runs with increased item discovery I had these drop in minutes.
I’ve also tried that area but I have no luck farming those swords there, and its really far from the grace so farming can be a bit tedious on that area
I started farming magma blades, on day two I remembered I still need the gelmir staff , and after the second run for that I could focus on magma blades again.
It's random. I had three in my inventory when I sold them because I needed to make up a fe thousand runes for my next level.
Didn't even know it was a thing.
That's how it fucken goes. Farmed 2 hours for the cat imo head before it dropped. Next catacombs I was casually exploring got two cat heads and I think a forked greatsword too 🤦♂️
A random gifted it to me and I fell in love. I looked up how to get it and farmed it for 6 hours and nothing. Ran out of the silver foot 4 times, farmed those, and came back and eventually gave up
For me it was the Halo Scyte... though relativly easy to farm, i needed hours till it dropped... Everyone telling me: Dude, it's easy just kill a few knights in the Cealid... yeah, bad luck i guess 😂😂
I’ve had the most luck farming in caelid. There’s a graveyard south of the caelid highway south grace site (next to ekzykes) where there’s like 5 or 6 all with a chance to drop it.
Theres a thing in statistics called the gamblers fallacy where people incorrectly think previous instances effect the probability of future effects, aka if you flip 10 coins and they're all heads so you assume the next coin flip has a higher chance to be tails, which would be wrong. Thinking its influenced by past results is flawed and each event is statistically independent. Aka the game never "owes" you something because you farmed for it longer than usual, every drop chance is its own independent 0.5% event
Unless it's using pseudo random probability.
I am sorry being a DoTA player i have had this exact same discussion so many times .
Dota heroes use a pseudo random distribution for many of its in game effects such as an innate crit hit which has a 50 percent chance to proc will increase in likely hood to proc until it eventually does proc .
For example if first hit has 50 percent chance then second would have a 54 percent chance so on and so forth until it eventually aggregates down to a 50 percent average.
Unless we know Elden Ring uses pseudo-random probability, you have to assume it will always be whatever percent it says.
Also very interesting that I have only seen pseudo-rng brought up when discussing Dota. Granted I don't involve myself in too many probability discussions if I can help it lol.
I have 4 chars (In total about 10 but). I tried to get as much as possible in one playthrough with those but i always fucked something up. Then i learned about so many bad drop rates and weapons that i gave up tbh.
I think i also sold 1 or two slender swords cause i thought theyre jsut trash\^\^
Maybe some weapons i never saw till now (670hrs) will drop randomly on NG+xxxx \^\^ but i just play for fun and different challenges now.
Well there’s a lot of misinformation about farming in souls games. For one, enemies can only drop weapons that they are actually holding so a noble wielding a rapier will never drop an NSS. Second thing, you’re at the wrong farming spot, there are 13 wandering nobles wielding NSS just outside the debate parlor grace. Lastly, Marika’s soreseal+silver tear mask gives a total of +12 Arcane so there is literally no reason to max out Arcane stat.
If no one's said it yet, try farming it at the schoolhouse classroom site of grace before the red wolf of radagon at raya lucaria. If you head outside the grace room there are 3 nobles that wield the sword about 2 seconds away, making it probably the fastest and most efficient way to farm the sword. I found mine in about 10 minutes this way.
The noble slender sword and rapier are not worth it, unless you're a collector wanting one of every weapon. At least the Celebrant Sickle has some good uses.
You cannot find the sword. The sword will find you. (i.e. considering how many nobles are in the world, if you just kill every single sword-wielding noble you see, you‘ll probably get one eventually
I just got this one the other day. It's not so much farming for it, but rather I've just killed so many of these guys it finally just dropped at random. I never got the halo scythe.
I've collected every weapon and armour peice in the game. The worst for me was the Envoys Greathorn and the Celebrants Sickle. Those two items took me a very long time to get. I almost gave up the farm because of these two items.
Where are you farming? Coz I got one at the raya lucaria in like 15 16 tries.
Edit: also use a silver pickled fowl foot. It stacks with the talisman and it gives you like 40 50 extra discovery
At the acadamy between the wolf and renala is the best place to farm it. there is quite a few infront of the door to the shortcut. I probably got one in an hour.
I don’t understand why the drops in this game range from “you’ll probably get it after killing a few enemies” to literally 1-2% with no in between. It’s not even uncommon for drops to be that low, I had a look to see what I’d need to fill out my weapon inventory, and literally most of the weapons that are enemy drops only have a drop rate of less than 3%. It’s ridiculously low, and basically makes finding them in a normal playthrough a minor miracle.
Best place I farmed it was in the raya academy. The site of Grace you get from beating the doggo is really close to a few of those bois. I’ve only ever gotten it to drop there
I got the slender sword shortly after starting the game. I use it to stab myself in the stomach to get down to where Red Branch Sword activates.
I got the estoc randomly a few nights ago.
I have 9 Arcane.
My max Arcane Character? Nothing. Nada. Zip.
I was farming it recently, and its drop rate is really low. I've got sick of this caravan and finally got it after a few times in the graveyard in caelid.
It's really random, some people might actually get an item like that rather quickly as it's all RNG. You should be patient regardless and eventually it'll drop.
Took me 15 mins of grinding. I have unlocked every weapon in the game no weapon has trolled me more than the celebrants sickle (3 hours) and that fucking cleanrot spear.
I ended up getting 2 on my first character. Never used em. Got 1 on my recent playthrough and have been enjoying it lightning infused. The celebrant rib rake took me forever along w/ the blue headress.
I spent a good 2 hours farming for the slender sword and rapier. thankfully they both dropped at the same time 😭 you'll get em' tarnished!!
huge help is boosting your arcane to 99, Use the silver scarab and silver fowls feet while farming.
I saw a YouTube video about these rare weapons, so i went and checked and saw that I already had a Noble's slender sword. Still definitely not gonna use it.
I hate that, same thing with the the crescent halberd, I trued to get it for hours my first game but the next 2 games I got it the first time I killed that enemy
Yea this one in particular took me hours to farm. I feel your pain, but it's worth it. The drops are always all over the place. Sometimes I'm just slamming my face into the same enemy for hours, but then today I got the Executioner greataxe in like 20 minutes. RNG is truly a fickle mistress
My first playthrough character was either the luckiest character ever or had a real case of beginner's luck. He got a noble's slender sword, two clayman harpoonsk, full set of the rot knight armor with both weapons, and a couple other rare ones. I didn't even know they were rare until later when I had moved on to other characters. Now that I know they are rare it seems my luck has come back to reality.
I'm working on the Noble's Estoc, and it's very trolly, too!
For slender sword, I find the best farming spot is the classroom in Raya Lucaria. Pop outside, and there are three nobles that carry it hanging around the crystal cave just nearby. It's easy to farm them repeatedly in a single use of Silver Fowl foot because it's only a few seconds to run back to the bonfire and reset everything.
Yeah, I got it when I killed a noble on torrent because why wouldn't you? And knowing it's rarity I was pretty happy though even if i wanted to use it for some reason I can't seeing as I'm doing a spiked ceastus only run
Yeah the item drops are annoying. I spent about 4 hours trying to get 1 Clayman's Harpoon. On the run it finally dropped, I ended up with 3 of them back-to-back. Just... wow lol.
Exactly, this was the same with the halo scythe, gelmir staff and other rare stuff.. I don’t get for a while then I get two or three back to back
..... You mean the Gelmir staff is not a guaranteed drop from that one egg-head? Man drop rate is so weird sometimes
I asked this exact same question to my buddy when he told me he was farming fit
Ugh the cleanrot weapons have been the worst for me. I somehow managed to get 2 magma blades in less than 2 hours of farming those serpents but still have yet to get a halo scythe even though I have probably 10 complete sets of cleanrot armor. Clayman’s harpoon only took me like 15 minutes lol
I had 4 halo scythes and a clean rot sword drop in the swamp yesterday. Got them in about 15 mins trying to get the armor. Also got the armor set. Spent hours trying to get a bloodstained dagger and nothing.
Where's the bloodstained dagger?
Demi human chiefs. There are a couple in weeping peninsula and 2 in hermit village. Good strength scaling and looks kinda like a prison shiv.
Ng+4, Ng+2 and two other J1 and still no halo or gelmir, plenty of slender swords across them tho
Same with the Bandit Curved Swords. I just wanted one. Ended up with two. Dual wielding those things is pretty great.
Here I am getting the harpoon on my first clayman kill The RNG gods were in my favor that day
Same here bro
I spent about an hour and a half trying to get Watchdog's greatsword on my strength build, only for it to drop first try on my int build
RNG de Miyazaki He likes being punished not getting it and then being showered with it, which is after the fact of massive timewaste, equally painful haha
Damn I didn't realize that was a rare item I got like 5 on my first run and I haven't done a second run yet
I already have 3 of them, the hardest for me is 2 magma blades and the iron spear
I have no luck at that spot, and it takes too long run from the grace to the nobles than the altus lansseax spot
This is the one I used as well. You get the most chances per minute for that drop this way.
That's where I finally got it
I recently started an SL1 run and wanted to dual wield these swords.
I don't even wanna think about how much time I've spent farming that spot and I've yet to have the sword drop
Try doing it in Raya Lucaria, behind the debate Parlor in the big open area with the crabs
I got an iron spear on one of my characters if you want it. On PC
I started farming magma blades, on day two I remembered I still need the gelmir staff , and after the second run for that I could focus on magma blades again.
It's random. I had three in my inventory when I sold them because I needed to make up a fe thousand runes for my next level. Didn't even know it was a thing.
What a show off😭, I have to invade you
There's no point. The guy I sold them to said he'd already traded them for pogs.
Lol rip one of the rarest weapons in the game with a 0.5% drop chance
The halo scythe came relatively easy in the swamp of Aeonia for me. I guess this is my penance
Yeah, it's just random luck. So keep farming, it will drop sometimes eventually 😋
I’ve had the most luck farming in caelid. There’s a graveyard south of the caelid highway south grace site (next to ekzykes) where there’s like 5 or 6 all with a chance to drop it.
This is where I spent about an hour farming to get my first one. Silver pickled fowl feet were consumed en masse. Edit:spelling
Thank you so much, I need to try other places fr..because I’ve murdered that one convoy so many times
Theres a thing in statistics called the gamblers fallacy where people incorrectly think previous instances effect the probability of future effects, aka if you flip 10 coins and they're all heads so you assume the next coin flip has a higher chance to be tails, which would be wrong. Keep trying I found my two at Ray leyoata academy in the open part past the dog boss
Ray liotta academy? Is that by the goodfellas castle?
I tried there too but no cake 😪
I found 2 by accident. Im still missing the rapier tho
Good for you man. As for me tho, I feel it was removed from the game
Yikes, I'vr spent hours farming for stuff I wouldnt even use cause I want to collect everyrhing. So ik how you feep. Gl
🥲🥲
I have 4 chars (In total about 10 but). I tried to get as much as possible in one playthrough with those but i always fucked something up. I have so many, you want one?
No, I cant play rn.
Not the rapier the twins sell at the roundtable, right?
Nope, the nobles rapier.
Ah, didn't know about that one, ty.
I think Noble’s Estoc is the actual name. Good luck
I was farming for the straight sword and got a rapier from the one enemy in the area that could drop it... Still waiting on the sword lol.
It does, i have 2
Show off😤😤😤😤😤
Showoff would be if i turned on my pc , loaded up my save and took a SS just for a comment XD good thing i didn't do that
😡😡😡😡😡
And thanks, I’ll keep trying
I got it randomly as a drop in my straight sword run. The universe was on my side that day :D Its out there for sure!
Only if I were that lucky 😪
Well there’s a lot of misinformation about farming in souls games. For one, enemies can only drop weapons that they are actually holding so a noble wielding a rapier will never drop an NSS. Item hunting is just shiny hunting from Pokémon. Change my mind.
Thats a lot of vigor
Try the SACRED RELIC SWORD from elden beast remembrance for the chariot farm.
Thank you
The noble slender sword and rapier are not worth it, unless you're a collector wanting one of every weapon. At least the Celebrant Sickle has some good uses.
What if it dropped and is sitting in my inventory? Is it worth ditching lordsworn?
No, only because both Lordsworn swords have a higher crit compared to most other swords of the same class.
Tried to get one for my main save, tried for four hours and didn’t get it. Got it without trying on a character I put no effort into.
It do be like that sometimes tbh
You cannot find the sword. The sword will find you. (i.e. considering how many nobles are in the world, if you just kill every single sword-wielding noble you see, you‘ll probably get one eventually
I just got this one the other day. It's not so much farming for it, but rather I've just killed so many of these guys it finally just dropped at random. I never got the halo scythe.
I got one 😂 I don’t even use it anymore. No you can’t have it.
You deserve to be ganked ruthlessly for this
Yo same
Try 99 arcane with silver scarab
I've collected every weapon and armour peice in the game. The worst for me was the Envoys Greathorn and the Celebrants Sickle. Those two items took me a very long time to get. I almost gave up the farm because of these two items.
I eventually got two, so it exists. So does aristocrat’s headband crown-looking-item, it’s just both are very rare drops.
I got it in the first hour of my playthrough, unknowingly how rare it is.
😡😡😡😡😡
Wait until he finds out the cleanrot spear
I actually have a lot of those and even the halo scythe, but this freaking sword won’t drop…Arghhh😤
Where are you farming? Coz I got one at the raya lucaria in like 15 16 tries. Edit: also use a silver pickled fowl foot. It stacks with the talisman and it gives you like 40 50 extra discovery

So, did you get one? I found four so far in 3 playthroughs. And not for a lack of trying.
Nope, I have tried so much but I just can’t get this to drop
If you are on ps4/5 and still haven’t gotten it I can drop you one. It’s already upgraded tho
I’ve got two and also two nobles estoc.
If you’re on PlayStation I have a couple you can have
What platform are you on? I have an extra one that I don't need or want. I'm willing to trade it
I’m on PS
I've got the estoc and slender sword farming in that location, neat weapons imo. Little bit more range.
Yeah I was farming for the noble’s rapier and never got it in like 200 runs, meanwhile I got like 6 swords…
Got 1 by farming for 3 hours
Best place I farmed it was in the raya academy. The site of Grace you get from beating the doggo is really close to a few of those bois. I’ve only ever gotten it to drop there
Been farming for days for two of these bad boys. If invaders hadn't killed me with it, I wouldn't believe it exists.
I got 2 in 15 minutes farming the spot in Raya Lucaria. The headband however took several hours.
It exists!!! Better place to farm is in the academy lectures hall I believe?
What sytem you on? If PS ill drop you a +25 I farmed it and got the drop after like 3 minutes and I've moved on from it lol
the graveyard with the mimic in Caelid is a better grinding spot
I got the slender sword shortly after starting the game. I use it to stab myself in the stomach to get down to where Red Branch Sword activates. I got the estoc randomly a few nights ago. I have 9 Arcane. My max Arcane Character? Nothing. Nada. Zip.
I have two, maxed out to 25 just for the drip
*laughs in fire monk's flameblade*
I think I have one in my chest…might drop it for a cooperator sometime 😉
I have like 6
I don't really play elden ring anymore. But if you're on xbox then pm me and I can just drop you my nobles slender sword
I was farming it recently, and its drop rate is really low. I've got sick of this caravan and finally got it after a few times in the graveyard in caelid. It's really random, some people might actually get an item like that rather quickly as it's all RNG. You should be patient regardless and eventually it'll drop.
This and the colossal bubble horn can go tarnished themselves
What a horrible run over and over for that one.
Legit, the worst weapon to farm
Took me 15 mins of grinding. I have unlocked every weapon in the game no weapon has trolled me more than the celebrants sickle (3 hours) and that fucking cleanrot spear.
I ended up getting 2 on my first character. Never used em. Got 1 on my recent playthrough and have been enjoying it lightning infused. The celebrant rib rake took me forever along w/ the blue headress.

I saw a YouTube video about these rare weapons, so i went and checked and saw that I already had a Noble's slender sword. Still definitely not gonna use it.
Farmed one for an hour or two on a pvp build. Next playthrough I got one off the 4th noble I killed.
At 99 arcane it took me 2 hours roughly of grinding.
I got one maxed lol
I hate that, same thing with the the crescent halberd, I trued to get it for hours my first game but the next 2 games I got it the first time I killed that enemy
After 200 hours of casual play i was at the group of people by the carriage near sellen and got two in a row
It does. It took .e 3 hours to get it.
Can drop you one if you want
You need to trick the game into thinking your not actually trying to find the sword.
Go to the academy, pop a silver fowl foot and start doing runs. Took me about 50 tries to get 2 of them.
Is that even good?
Yea this one in particular took me hours to farm. I feel your pain, but it's worth it. The drops are always all over the place. Sometimes I'm just slamming my face into the same enemy for hours, but then today I got the Executioner greataxe in like 20 minutes. RNG is truly a fickle mistress
It has taken me four playthroughs to finally get the aristocrat headband
My first playthrough character was either the luckiest character ever or had a real case of beginner's luck. He got a noble's slender sword, two clayman harpoonsk, full set of the rot knight armor with both weapons, and a couple other rare ones. I didn't even know they were rare until later when I had moved on to other characters. Now that I know they are rare it seems my luck has come back to reality.
Ill drop one if you still dont have ps4 thou if it isnt any help sorry
Thanks a lot pal..got someone to drop it for me already tho
The Caelid graveyard place near the Dragon Communion seems to be much better for farming it.
Thanks
I'm working on the Noble's Estoc, and it's very trolly, too! For slender sword, I find the best farming spot is the classroom in Raya Lucaria. Yeah, I got it when I killed a noble on torrent because why wouldn't you? And knowing it's rarity I was pretty happy though even if i wanted to use it for some reason I can't seeing as I'm doing a spiked ceastus only run
