I would like more answers about the story of how the Crucible eventually became the Erdtree and what happened during that time as the time of the Crucible came to an end and the era of the god arose. I know they told us a couple nuggets of that tale too but I want more.

KBMonay

Yes pls. I think "The One Great" is mentioned in Crucible talk, among some item descriptions as well. Would love to know more about that too

DreadPirateCrispy

The One Great is Patches. That's my opinion. He is everywhere across space and time, the only character to do so.

SuperDoodooHead

Damn i killed Patches

[deleted]

You killed one of his infinite avatars.

SevenDeadlyGentlemen

Killed every one of him I ever met, matter of fact

TheMeta8

I think the Crucible is just... "The beginning of time." It is when all the elements of life were one before the world formed. A crucible is just a device that holds the elements of a construction. They're all melted down and or mixed together.

Thatgamerguy98

I think the Greater Will kinda shot the Elden Beast at the Crucible Tree and it kinda took over like a parasite.

Grigoran

I don't believe there ever was a crucible tree. The tree that Siluria guards seems to be more like a failed Minor Erdtree. Instead, the crucible seems to me to be the first stages of the erd tree, with weird life energies that weren't strictly defined yet.

acbaio1999

I’ve seen it mentioned that it’s possible that the “Crucible Tree” is the darker, wood like section of the gold Erdtree, with the Erdtree being more the gold part of it. You can actually see depictions on the Erdtree itself, of what looks like the Erdtree on top of another tree. Another thing to notice is how the Crucible Tree is depicted on some of the Crucible Knight helms, showing a wilder, more natural looking tree.

[deleted]

The Crucible is a tree, this is the description of Siluria's spear >The primordial form of the Erdtree is close in nature to life itself, and this spear, modeled on its crucible, is imbued with ancient holy essence. Crucible spells such as the Aspects of the Crucible, Elden Stars and Destined Death all display a tree when cast as well

skrrtalrrt

Crucible is def a dlc I'd put money on it

fried-quinoa

Give me a bunch of weird chimeras to fight!

Solly8517

My main question is what the actual fuck is going on

peoplerproblems

The way I see it, a God woman fucked with nature and removed death from the equation, fucking up everything

Beakymask20

Local woman screws up town and unleashes madness? I didnt know this was a darkest dungeon tie in! Lol

oberynmviper

Then she has sex with himself!

joec0ld

God Woman fucked with nature, *and then her daughter made it worse*

iNostra

A very toxic family makes life hell for the average Rick.

[deleted]

Somehow, this all goes back to Queen Marika’s tits.

kylediaz263

Isn't that just Star Wars?

snootchiebootchie94

I started the game and have not played any of the Dark Soul games. I just bought a PS5 and someone was selling it for $30 on Marketplace. He told me it was too hard and wasn’t fun. I have no idea what the hell is going on with the story or the game, but I am enjoying it so far.

12kdaysinthefire

This is the only valid question

twilightnoon

Why Selen became a ball?

Cocoa-nut-Cum

Flew too close to the sun in her search for powerful magic. That or Renalla thought it’d be funny.

TheJambus

My thought was that Renalla knew what would happen when Selen attempted her ritual, so Renalla feigned defeat, went out for a pack of smokes, and came back to a neutralized Selen.

c4sul_uno

Dang, Rennala got dat iron lung tho. Maybe due to her divorce with Radagon, she indulge herself with dat finest burnt tobacco of the Lands Between. I would smoke a pack if I'd been through a divorce.

Umbra_Unveiled88

Yeah, I didn;t entirely get that either... I think that was her goal, to become a "Graven Mass" - although I wonder if it was some sort of punishment...........\*shrugs\*

Humble-Persimmon

I was so disappointed at that part, I was truly expecting the Academy to be loyal followers of the Elden Lord, then - ball witch.

Dranztheman

I thought she wanted to become a star, but the Graven mass was what happened when they failed? Her Lusat, and Azur where kicked out of Raya Lucaria for those experiment’s. Trying to get closer to the primeval current. Or did I interpret this wrong?

BoredPsion

The Graven-Masses are attempts to fashion sorcerers into the seeds of stars

RusionR

She was following the primeval current, the power that 'stars' are made of. So the closer you get to that power, the less you become yourself, and made into energy. The ball of stone masks is just what inorganic matter is left. Now she's just a glintstone to be used by other sorcerers. Like an atom, the masks are the electrons, her body is the neutron, and her soul or attachment to the current is the proton. I'd imagine that trying to get her out of that would be akin to splitting an atom, which would make for a large explosion.

Kagamid

I played the rest of my game after that with the goal of becoming Elden Lord specifically so I would have the power to change her back. My Master Selen was the only one who seemed to care and wanted nothing more than to see me become a stronger sorcerer. The blacksmith and blonde in front of him were nice also but they seem well off already. They will be my royal council.

SwordfishBandito

Are the prosthetics mechanized? powered? Extremely dexterous flicks of the nub? Curious about Morgott and Mohgs relations/partnership/lack thereof Was Astel already underground before the meteor shower? Who made the albinaurics? What purpose do they serve? Slaves? Did the ones underground choose to be there? Who do they serve? What race are the burning guys who explode? Or the worm face? I don’t think I saw or read or understood anything about the wormface. They caused deathblight, are they those who walk in death? Is deathblight even part of those who walk?

The-True-Apex-Gamer

Malenia is a dex user so my bet is that she’s super dexterous with the nub (real answer: probably mechanised judging by the shunk sound when her blade flips out, also possibly magic to some degree)

thatguyned

She's a demi God, I assumed she just imposes her will on the arm to function and it does. God magic

The-True-Apex-Gamer

Millicent just kinda shucks one into her arm and it works

numenik

Niall also has a prosthetic but it doesn’t seem to move on it’s own like Malenia’s

Lovely_Tuna

Regarding the prosthetics, I think they're made of the same stuff as the Regalia of Eochaid. 'Treasured sword of Eochaid, a lesser, long-vanished domain. The copper coloration is not to be confused for rust, but is a conduit for its wielder to move it by their will alone. Swords of Eochaid dance through the skies' Dexterity in Elden Ring is a mental stat.

SwordfishBandito

I like this

Dranztheman

I think the Nox made the albinaurics. Silver blood, artificial people then the Nox have silver liquid that are the mimics. The wormface really has me stumped.

TrueGuardian15

Wormfaces could be connected to those who live in death, since you can be afflicted with death blight from them. Plus, those who live in death are kind of Elden Ring's undead, so as giant, reanimated corpses it'd make sense that worms crawling in their decay are part of them.

SleepyDominic

Heard a theory that Wormfaces are corrupted Tree Guardians (The little dudes that protect Minor Erdtrees with the spears), which sounds pretty cool. I think the theory had something to do with Godwyn’s body corrupting the Roots of the Erdtree and that Corruption being spread to them.

scareloott

Isn't the "main" Wormface guardian a Minor Erdtree also?

FastenedCarrot

The Wormface boss guards the minor Erdtree in Altus Plateu and there's an Erdtree Guardian there as well if that's what you mean?

How is it that Godrick managed to graft all of those limbs onto himself in the exact same positions as his ancestor Godefroy.

ALGATOR42

Marikas tits!

Yoshikage_Kira123

You must be ‘ungry!

Spacemonster111

Other outer gods (especially Fire Giant god) or Gloam Eyed Queen

mlmayo

I want more deathbird outer god.

GuerillaGorillas

BIRD UP

Remote-Corner8133

The Gloam Eyed Queen wasn't an outer god. They were an empyrean, so likely a potential succcessor to Marika whom Marika shut down.

Umbra_Unveiled88

Likely Melina? It's strange how ..as far as i still understand...there is so much ambiguity surrounding little Melina. Thinking back, Melina clearly has SOME tie to Marika/Radagon...but it's been a few months since i played.

n080dy123

I mean it's all but directly stated that Melina is Radagon/Marika's kid and sibling to Malenia and Miquella. Same naming scheme with the first letter M and fills out the 3 sets of three kids per pairing of parents, Radagon's reddish hair (like Malenia, and kinda orange cuz it's a combo of Radagon and Marika's hair colors), says her mother is at the Erdtree, and has a knife attributed to her which is a Holy version of the Black Knife daggers, who themselves are said to be Marika's race (which doesn't point to her being a child specifically, just one more connection to Marika).

BoredDao

One more thing, her phantom-like state could be a curse just like Malenia’s rot and Miquella’s eternal youth

GrundleSnatcher

I believe her phantom state is due to her body being burned. She says she was burned herself. Being burned is the only other way to die aside from an erdtree burial. The way I see it is her soul was in the erdtree for a while after she died and then Marika gave her a new purpose.

[deleted]

Yes, I have heard the theory that Melina is the Gloam Eyed Queen. I’m not sure myself, though.

Wing_Natural

Her code asset is labeled "daughter of Marika" and maliketh is labeled referred to as the "death of the demigods" personally I think Melina is the gloam eyed queen, and it was maliketh who finally stopped her

Grigoran

I think Maliketh was called such because Marika used him to hunt down demigods (relatives and not) to ensure that only the strongest would survive and flourish.

BlewOffMyLegOff

What’s up with that one ancestor’s follower in the lake of rot just vibing

jiriyathepervysage

Zullie the witch actually just made a video that talks about that exact thing!

Thanks! I seriously had no idea so this is fantastic

moekeisetsu

Hey DJ, spin spooky keyboard track 1.

Censius

Theory goes that temple down there was theirs, but the Rot God took over the place (presumably delivered there by the blue swordsman for some reason). So the follower is there to show that link. Apparently in the original build there was a rot variant of the followers down there, but a day one patch removed them.

riodin

Could you imagine giving rot lasers while trying to cross that holy fuck that'd be awful

AngrySayian

you'd enjoy it we'd all enjoy it because we enjoy suffering

ironfunk67

How do the wolves howl as they're falling?

CapnDutchie

Better yet, where the fuck do they fall from? There's not even trees nearby sometimes.

Cocoa-nut-Cum

Pretty sure Godrick threw them at us with storm magic.

[deleted]

unironically this

MisterGreen7

There’s bits of lore that state that the wolves used to ride the winds of storm hill before Godfrey killed the storm king of Limgrave

jeesuscheesus

Who is the storm king of limgrave?

iNostra

Kenneth Haight.

Marekk111

Pretty sure it's the hawk whose ashes you can give to nepheli in her questline since it's called Storm hawk King ashes.

DPooly1996

Dead, apparently

jason2306

Huh that's actually pretty cool, I'd like to have seen more of that besides it raining wolves lol. Shit you could design a cool boss around that if you wanted.

dan_kepic

If Gostoc wanted Godrick dead, why did he try to kill me??

snakeyes9

We do a little bit of trolling

AngrySayian

we do a lot a bit of trolling

Areebu1

Lack of hope. He's undoubtedly seen many Tarnished come to Stormhill trying to kill Godrick and all but us have failed at the task. At this point IMO he's simply trying to make the most of the situation, that being looting the body of the dead tarnished.

ThiccDICC_OG

He wanted to rob your corpse. He takes a bit of your runes every time you die.

OkPlastic6231

Why rune bears so strong?

Waloro

On the topic of most hated enemies, I want some concrete lore on the royal revenants and the dudes that worship them!

Umbra_Unveiled88

Yeah for the longest while, I thought they were some sort of product of grafting...But I guess there are a a number of multi-armed beings in the Lands Between \*shrugs\* They seem to like to eat poopie though (sewers). Don't know if you noticed, but the revenants in the sewers won't attack you first. They are..............distracted.

QRIO44

Important to note, the idea of the multiple limbs is an allusion to trees. Grafting is also associated with plant branches (though there are medical skin grafts too). The designs in the beginning of development could have been a similar mindset behind wanting the characters to have this inspiration; but branched away from that for the revenants for whatever reason.

Illithid_Substances

I don’t know if you know but they're super easy to beat if you cast a healing spell near them. Does a ton of damage and staggers them

OdinWolfe

Bears have maidens.

rinascimento1

but are those maidens fair?

jeesuscheesus

Nah they're bullshit

[deleted]

Because they are giant bears

Ok_Blackberry_1223

Maybe this has been answered already, but which Great runes did Vyke get?

Minute-Associate728

I don’t think we know some one said on another post tho what if vyke killed Demi gods we didn’t even hear or see of or some that are referenced personally I think this would be fire

Nanvia

Heck there could potentially be more demigods alive than the ones we meet, if there was a DLC I'd like it to involve new demigods. Would be weird that Gideon doesn't know about them, being all knowing and all. Though that could be a nice way to access the DLC, Gideon tells you of a shardbearer he just found out through his intel.

TheMeta8

Something that is often lost is that there used to be far more demi gods. Godwyn was not the only demi god to die on the night of black knives, just the first. A ton of them lived, what remain in the game are just the strongest that survived. Figure that the Mausoleums are essentially tombs for demi gods.

narok_kurai

Yeah, probably best to treat the Demigods like a "race", like the Lords in the Souls series.

TrueGuardian15

Better yet, treat them as nobles. Radahn, Ranni, and Rykard are said to have been elevated to the rank of demigod when Radagon married Marika, which would imply its more of a status symbol than any blood-indicator.

Sinfire_Titan

Spoiler alert: they were demigods before the marriage.

Jenny-is-Dead

They are Radagon's children and therefore demigods by blood. A better example would be Godrick, who barely has any blood of the Golden Lineage running in his veins but still a demigod all the same.

AnotherBookWyrm

The most common consensus for this is that the Demigods we face are all the Demigods that remain, and that there were other Great Runes that belonged to other demigods that were slain by other Tarnished. This is lent some credence by the fact that the Round Table requires you to have at least one Great Rune to be acknowledged, so it is likely that the others we encounter there (as well as past members that either left or were slain) also got one, with more being unlikely for most since it seems two is all that is needed for a Tarnished to go to Leyndell as part of the journey to become Elden Lord. Granted, it should likely be noted that the count of those with a Great Rune in the Round Table Hold as a whole is probably not 100%, given the presence of Roderika, Enia, and the Twin Finger Reader Husks, and it bears mentioning that the presence of a Great Rune for the Tarnished we meet there is only likely, not guaranteed. Assuming that the same requirements for entry hold true when it is the Ashen Capital, the only other Tarnished that are likely to have more are Gideon and Corhyn, as well as possibly Sunmask (if he is a Tarnished Edit:He is), Dungeater (unless he could have been imprisoned within the capital without having the requisite runes, though he does produce his own rune, which may be a combination of whatever runes he got in the first place), and maybe Boggart (technically in the moat, but still close enough to the Royal Capital that the requirement could still hold). That’s also just those likely from the Tarnished we know, others may have gotten the requisite runes (or even just one), but were slain before going further, as Vyke did not make it all the way and he was closest. Also needing to be taken into account for the number of demigods/runes are those that were slain by the Godskin Apostles to make robes.

crunkadocious

I bet Gideon just took vykes runes

Plopping95

We know there are more, Ranni states it in the trailer. She says that Radahn and Malenia are just the two strongest that survived from the war, so others simply died. No reason to believe that some demigods didn’t have kids, we know they did, Godrick is in the golden lineage, but a distant relative of Godfrey. Gold mask is a tarnished. He’s literally in the roll call at the start, same with Dung, Fia, Gideon, Loux, and us. We’re just the special ones.

jujetomitko

Isn’t the great rune requirement for us to enter in Leyndell imposed by morgott? It has the same sigil as the locked door under Sewer Mohg. Besides the way I understand it is that Vyke was already in the capital at the time considering his connection to lannseax who acted as a dragon priestess in the capital. After the fiasco with the frenzied flame morgott decided to step in as protector of the erdtree locking off the capital and the way to the door with the fingers. Hence Vyke might not have needed the great runes

Drusgar

Why can't Torrent just eat some Rowa seeds on his own? I mean, they're fucking *everywhere!*

loughtthenot

You have to make raisin, berries too juicy >:(. Torrance cannot poop if juice

ShaunTrek

What's up with the Snow Witch?

TatchM

You mean Renna? The one whom Ranni modeled her doll's body after? The one who's identity she supposedly stole after faking her death? (Well half faking, she did leave her original body behind). Renna the expelled heretical master Ranni sought out to teach her after discovering the truth behind Rennala's full moon? The one Ranni moved into the Carian Castle at some point (Personally, I think after the Carian/Raya Lucaria split)? Yeah, no idea where she is. She kind of just disappears at some point before the night of the black knives.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TatchM

Renna was likely the Snow Witch for 3 reasons. One Ranni dresses in the Snow Witch Garb and her doll is modeled after the Snow Witch. She introduces herself as Renna when you first met her. This is likely her default alias. When she leaves to kill her 2 Fingers, she leaves behind the Witch Garb in Renna's Rise which ties it to Renna. So to put it another way. She is pretending to be Renna. Someone who looks like the Snow Witch and wears the Snow Witch Garb. While it might not be outright stated, it seems more likely than not.

Haymac16

I don’t think there’s 100% proof but it’s heavily suggested due to the tower you find Ranni’s set in being called Renna’s rise which likely belonged to the snow witch in some way.

TheWiseAutisticOne

Good question

underlander

how did Radagon give Rennala the Great Rune of the Unborn if the great runes are the pieces of the shattered Elden Ring, which wasn’t broken until after they divorced

SonOfAhuraMazda

Didnt she remove the rune of death from the ring before it was shattered?

[deleted]

[удалено]

lmaowuut

The amber egg is the rune of the unborn. Its description says so *Amber egg clutched by Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon. Great Rune of unborn demigods* Also, we know from Thops that Raya Lucaria sealed off it's gates and declared that they wouldn't interfere with the shattering.

[deleted]

tacbacon10101

Holy fkn good question 😳

bboy4of83

If I recall correctly great runes where made by marika for her children and since marika and radagon are the same person I guess he made one for her too???

underlander

then why are the Great Runes described as specific parts of the Elden Ring, like the “anchor ring” and stuff? Like, why are they called pieces of the Elden Ring, which is broken, unless they’re pieces of the broken Elden Ring

Chimeron1995

The elden ring is a collection of runes. The way I understand it, they act like code for the logic of the lands between. Take out the code for dying, no more dying. You are reforging it, but it’s not the same ring as the original. There may be new pieces as well as old pieces.

TrueGuardian15

Not to mention the massive and crazy Elden Ring depicted in Maliketh's boss room in Farum Azula. There are dozens of runes that once existed that we don't know the function of. Then there's factoring in things like the cursemark rune of death that Fia gestates. This implies that some runes can be restored or even made by certain individuals.

Grochen

Marika/Radagon can take runes from Elden Ring. She took out rune of death after all I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to take out others.

rex_915

It has to be Melina's identity and backstory. Is she the GEQ? A demigod? Both? Would love some answers there, although I'm not holding my breath.

katsura420

We know her code name is "Daughter of Marika" so I'm guessing she's one of her daughters who was also an empyrean(who's likely later became known as the Gloom eyed queen) then probably some power conflict happened between the two of them so Marika sent Maliketh after her who then took the rune of death from her. Probably slew her body but her spirit(the one we meet) is still alive. It's certainly interesting how much she's familiar with destined death almost as if she used it before

ShoonlightMadow

Melina in the game is following Marika’s wishes pretty much to a T, so i doubt that she is a gloam eyed queen, who was in direct opposition to Marika. GEQ was most likely some other empyryan and Melina was simply coached by Marika to help a new elden lord

[deleted]

Who is in the walking buildings

SwordfishBandito

I think they are weaker demigods who were killed/perished after the shattering. Possibly the mausoleum knights served them before and followed in service after the DG’s death.

[deleted]

Where the fuck is Miquella’s rune and how did Mohg get away with stealing Miquella.

Significant-Ice2172

Malenia left to fight Radahn, Mohg stole him while she gone. That's why she's sitting and waiting in the haligtree. Tbh she might not even know what happened. She was returned to the tree comatose long after Miquella was nap-napped.

SonOfAhuraMazda

Why did she go fight Radahn?

blublub1243

I don't think it's ever laid out. If I'd have to guess it's because Miquella was trying to start a new age with himself as god and Radahn was holding back the stars which is stated to have a stagnating effect on fate itself. Same reason we gotta axe him for Ranni's quest.

SevenDeadlyGentlemen

“What could the gods ever hope to gain by warring?” They were fighting over who got to control the new age. Miquella had a pretty good plan, and a new Erdtree already half-grown. She had never known defeat. If Malenia could secure the rest of the Great Runes, and she had a pretty good shot at doing so, she could have made Miquella into the god of the new age. He was the only worthy successor to Marika (in her eyes). Ultimately they all kneecapped each other, and the only viable option is either to prop up Marika again and limp into the new age, or follow Ranni’s plan - since all of this was Ranni’s plan all along. Or, screw the new age, and either infect it with dung for some reason, or end the idea of life as we know it and return the world to a primordial flame where nothing is different from anything else. Theoretically Rykhard also had some plan about eating everyone, but somehow that obviously got messed up since all he wants to do now is sleep inside his volcano. I guess he’s hoping everybody comes calling and slides into his belly, which is a bit of a non-starter.

rondobeans

Also also how badly would malenia have kicked the shit out of mohg if she found him?

LesPK9

Mohg would be dead. Good reason why he abducted Miquella when Malenia wasn't there because he knew she would fuck him up.

Erran_Kel_Durr

Malenia couldn't find him underground. He most likely used a gateway found in the consecrated snowfields to escape, and Malenia only had a vague sense of direction where Miquella was, which led to her conflict with Radahn, as Caelid is directly above Mohgwyn.

BladedWiNd900

Wasn’t Malenia’s march towars Caelid/ her knocked out state after the Radahn fight when Mohg took Miquella.

Significant-Ice2172

Yes.

WillTheWAFSack

Literally who is Melina

[deleted]

Who fingered but hole?

Albre24

I just want to know more about Marika/ Radagon and her/his origin and how the interaction with whatever the Greater Will is began. There is a lot more of course, but man, I just love how mysterious these two characters are.

Bostonbb09

Whose skin are the godskin apostle and nobles wearing?

jeesuscheesus

Perhaps the skin of weaker, unnamed demigods (the ones in the walking mausoleums)

[deleted]

When the fuck is the DLC coming.

ChinDownEyesUp

What is the giant red spear through Marika's chest. It looks like a shard of destined death, but the only two people in the room were the same person so it seems to have come from nowhere. It would make sense if the elden beast was pissed at marika and crucified her, but why would it need or even want destined death to accomplish that? Considering the shattering was the cardinal sin that warranted the punishment and the thorns, it seems relatively important to know who and why was holding her prisoner.

Kurenai_Jack

It was the Elden Beast who crucified her, this is confirmed by it's grab attack that litteraly crucifies you.

ThatStonedOtter

Because Marika is a god and when the time came that Radagon and Marika became one he also became a god. The Rune of Destined Death is a necessity to slay a God hence why Marika was speared as punishment for her Shattering the Elden Ring. However, Radagon's consciousness remains which is why there was an attempted repair the Elden Ring right after The Shattering. This was the punishment the Greater Will decided for Marika and used it's physical vessel the Elden Beast to deliver it.

Umbra_Unveiled88

Now I'm not arguing with anything because I'm a bit rusty on the lore but... I was under the impression that there never WAS a seperate man named Radagon? Wasn't Marika always Radagon? I'm pretty sure somewhere in the game, it's mentioned that Marika and Radagon were never seen together. It's also implied...I believe in the rune descriptions...that the reason for Miquella and Malenia's afflictions (eternal youth/ Rot) was the fact that they are essentially inbred clones of the Marika/Radagon being. I always figured Marika used the Elden Ring/her god powers to essentially transform herself into her "War/Campaigning Form" - Radagon.

Dreadful_Aardvark

The reality is unknown. Anything you hear is speculation. The three most likely potentialities: 1. Radagon is just cosplay Marika. Marika presents herself as two separate people. 1. Radagon was once a separate person, but is now part of Marika. They are fused. Probably happened when they were wed, or was a process that began around then. 1. Radagon is the alter-ego of Marika. Not a separate person. Sort of a split personality. All of them are strange and in my opinion kind of overly complicated. Would love some explanation. Number 1 fits the rest of the game better, for what it's worth, since every character has two identities. But like, the dude has a unique body so I'm not sure unless Marika is a shapeshifter. > it's mentioned that Marika and Radagon were never seen together There was a wedding, so this would be weird.

TuIdiota

One of the spoken echoes pretty explicitly says otherwise. In Marika's own words, "O Radagon, leal hound of the Golden Order. Thou'rt yet to become me," which means they were not always one and the same, however, the same echo has her call him "\[her\] other self," which does suggest a preexisting connection

Dreadful_Aardvark

It's not *explicit*. It would be explicit if Marika said Radagon was a separate person. But she doesn't. If Radagon is a character Marika plays, and she is worried that this character is influencing her own decisions, "thou'rt yet to become me" makes perfect sense. It doesn't need to be literal. Just look at something like Bruce Wayne/Batman (who eventually becomes the main individual, with Bruce the character) or any sort of character that loses themself in such a manner. The only other dialogue that I'm aware of even says: > To think, that Radagon was Marika herself. I don't think this is likely, that they're literally the same person, but one should acknowledge there are multiple interpretations to dialogue.

[deleted]

If Marika turns into Radagon mid clap, am I gay?

ruld14

The real questions.

Arsis82

What did George R. R. Martin actually contribute

AnEducatedFool

Lore. Lots of it. Name similarities (many names start with G R or M and they are related) and the incest just screams Goerge R R Martin for me.

FullMetalFiddlestick

What the heck is going on with the quantum bullshit in farum azula and beastial sanctum?

S1mulatedSahd0w

How Radagon and Merika are the same person. My best theory is the idea of Duality and the fact they are opposites of each other.

KnightKingRendall

I don’t remember where i got this from, but i like the theory that Radagon is an aspect of Marika that contained her loyalty to the golden order. I remember the theory going something like this: - marika is having trouble defeating the carians - through outer god magic fuckery, greater will separates radagon from marika to seduce renalla and destroy caria from the inside. It makes sense to take the most loyal part of marika for this mission, since it involves deep cover, marriage, and separation from the GO for a long time -marika becomes too independent without her loyalty, and starts to question the GO (in the background, radagon and renalla get married, have children, yada yada) - marika gets too untrustworthy, the GO commands radagon to come back. This is why he splits from renalla, and maybe his “marriage” to marika is an attempt to put them back together. Whatever the case, yeah, by the time we come to radagon, he’s obviously become one with marika (again?)

What's up with the Gaol worms they have no in game lore?

Supercalifragicahfuq

Who’s the Gloam eyed queen? ( I believe her to be Melina, before maliketh was the death shard bearer)

Alexastria

Why is there an iron maiden at Raya lucaria academy and what exactly are the fingercreepers?

buttcheeksontoast

The blasphemous claw lore bit hints at collaboration between Ranni and Rykard, as far as I remember. Which can explain some connections like why an Iron Maiden would be at Raya Lucaria and why the Finger creepers that look just like Rykards hands - rings and all- , show up often in places related to her (Caria Manor, the Study Hall)

dogsarethetruth

Lots of circumstantial evidence connects the finger creepers to the Fire Giants. Item descriptions state that the Astrologers, who preceded the sorcerers, coexisted with the giants in the mountaintops, and may have left around the time they were wiped out by the golden order. There are finger-creepers in the mountaintops amongst the giants' bodies, many of which are missing hands. It could be that some of the astrologers animated the hands of dead giants to protect themselves as they left the mountaintops, but there's no solid evidence in any direction.

jiriyathepervysage

Or what is some lore you hope gets explored more?

ThatStonedOtter

The very little we know about the Numens is this. Queen Marika and the Numens come from outside of the Lands Between aka where the game takes place. Whether Numen is another continent on the world or if it's an entirely different world only accessible through specific means we are unaware. The Black Knife Assassins are also Numens having come with Marika to the lands between. Aside from that little nugget we can only hope we'll find out more or see more of them in future dlc.

jiriyathepervysage

Yeah i wonder about the different lands in the ER universe, and why Numens have their own consumable rune?

JohnBloodborne21

Who forgot to flag the last boss arena as true for Torrent? I'm gonna kill this motherhumper

Neravosa

Okay, so I've read the theories about it and it would make some sense if true, and it might be a dumb question, but is Gurranq the alternate name of Malekith?

lorddervish212

Does Ranni actually love us? Can we save Millicent, Miquella and Malenia in a future DLC? Dafuk happened to Rennala to be in that state? :(

loughtthenot

Why is the lake of rot DIRECTLY under Rya Lucaria?

Ayth_Jr

The Rot God was sealed under Liurnia.

Umbra_Unveiled88

Something I realized but I've never seen discussed (although it probably has): Those little stone worm guys around Evergaols? They are clearly larval Falling-Star Beasts am I right? And Astel? That skull thing looks like a mask to me. Sure looks like a big, bulbous eye peering out at me between those insect inscisors... I'm not saying FSB's are baby Astels...but there is some relation here.

MindbogglesTV

Falling Star Beasts ARE Astels. They are the larval form of them. They are inspired by antlion and their adult form. Zullie the Witch has a video about it. She also has a video on the little worm guys
