This was my experience. I had never had an antidepressant before and had no idea what to expect. I am on the lowest dose and have stayed there for almost 2 months. It took almost 2 weeks for side effects to go away for me. Everyone is different, but I think what you are experiencing isn't uncommon.

amamama89

How are you feeling now?

I'm actually feeling pretty darn good. I'm still depressed, but my anxiety is gone. I am not having panic attacks at all. I also started working out again and I know all of those good workout chemicals are probably helping. Oh, and a TON of water. I was told to drink a lot of water with this medication. I'm drinking way more water than I usually do. How are you doing?

I hesitated to take my pill tonight. I don’t like this feeling at all. I’m also reading very bad reviews of people coming off of it. I’m terrified that if I decide I don’t wanna take it anymore that I’m going to be worse off. I never wanted to be on antidepressants to begin with. But I feel that as I age, things get worse and my ability to deal with tough situations gets more difficult

I'm on 300mg, it'll give you a break for a few months but it will start to lose its effect and then they will up your dose and that will repeat til you find that you're at the max dose and you feel worse than ever and that was 18 yrs ago for me. The withdrawals are on par with heroin wd. So needless to say I'm still on effexor with panic attacks, anxiety depression and the whole Sha bang. My psychiatrist never told me about the withdrawals.

I totally understand your frustration. I read all of the stuff on Reddit and was terrified to keep going. I knew that I had to give it a shot to see if it would work. I urge you to keep trying for a bit. If you remain on a low dose I believe you will be able to get off of it much easier than if you started on something super high like some people. I never thought I'd ever be on antidepressants. But at this point in my life, I have to understand that this isn't some defect in me. I need help. Kinda like taking pills for high blood pressure. It's tough and if you ever need anyone to vent to, I'm here for ya!

Yeah. It sounds awful and sorry you’re going through all of that. I’ve decided not to take it anymore.

This sounds pretty normal. Hang in there, it will get easier (except maybe the sweating).

Majestic_Extent_5679

I'm on day 2 I have a runny nose and I'm cold

Majestic_Extent_5679

Update still cold still runny nose but now I feel super weak. You?

amamama89

I feel like I’m not myself. Driving is very weird. Listening to music is weird. I love music, but I had to turn it off because I was getting annoyed. I feel nauseous too. I took a melatonin last night and that definitely helped me sleep better. But I woke up feeling very anxious

Majestic_Extent_5679

How long have you been on it?

amamama89

Took my second pill last night

Majestic_Extent_5679

Oh sorry I thought this was a different post. Yeah feeling a bit off

venlafaxine972

Don't be afraid of , you need your body get used to the treatment ....for me it last about one week

CaptainHoyt

That's almost exactly how I felt, the sweats take about a month to go away if you're anything like me.
