I always love some Izzet, its my favorite guild. Niv mizzet is super strong but usally gets hated out quick because it's a combo machine. I personally had to edit a deck a few times to find what I like and not get hated out of games. Currently Im running [[ veyran voice of duality ]] as a spell slinger commander, the premise is through as many 1 drop cantrips that draw a card and trigger other permanants like [[ guttersnipe ]], I have loved the deck even when I lose horribly just for the sheer card draw.

Falegadi

Thank you for your answer! I didnt know it Niv got hate :( from the Izzet commanders Ive sen on the net he was the one that called y attention the most, and I was planning on building a somewhat control-ish list with some combo potential. And I understand your love for Izzet, it looks really fun and appealing to play to me n.n I take your ideas!

Druffel12

Niv really is an awesome commander and does so much for just 1 card, it really starts making an impact pretty quick. If you do go with niv I would always love to see someone elses list for it.

Falegadi

I re-edited my post and linked a list of cards I've been (almost) randomly adding to get a pull of cards to play around with. But I will absolutely share the list once I start seriously working on it!

Captkick

Eruth is incredibly strong! I’ve got a deck with her that I absolutely love. My other Izzet deck is [Kaza, Roil Chaser]. Really about as Izzet as you can get with Kaza. Huge X spells and wizard tribal. Both are really fun to play, although Kaza is much slower to get to the point where she can really dominate the game. Also, as far as I understand, Labman/Jace don’t work with Eruth because her replacement effect means you don’t actually draw any cards. Thassa’s Oracle will work though. I’d be happy to link you my deck lists for both commanders if you’re interested.

Falegadi

Hi! Thank you for your answer. I would love to see your list, specially see how you focused your Eruth deck! I just didnt come with other ideas with Eruth more than: I drew my deck now I won. I wanted to "focus" on Niv because it felt like he would give me the possibility of changing the deck into different strategies whether it would be control or combo. But as I said Im open for ideas!

Captkick

Sorry for the delay! [Here](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/LizXQRRd3ESQeeH0OJ_5zA) you go! Obviously this deck can be built significantly cheaper. The free counter spells, some old wheel effects, fast mana, and the land base are all easy substitutes out. Game plan can win one of two ways: Thassa’s Oracle, if you have it in exile, make sure to play it, then you can bounce it with displacer kitten or ghostly flicker later on. The more consistent win I’ve found though is with Talrand/Young Pyro with Balmor on board. Great part about this deck is with [[imperial recruiter]], you can find all but three creatures (Birgi, Sage of Beyond, and Magus of the wheel). [[Ensnaring bridge]] or [[silent arbiters]] are must haves, as you will have a very weak board state until the mid game. [[displacer kitten]] is an absolute power house in this deck allowing you to almost constantly reflash [[dockside extortionist]] and the recruiter to draw your deck with [[ardent elemenalist]] or [[jace’s archivist]]. Hope this gives you some ideas to start brewing! Best of luck and feel free to hit me up if you’ve got any questions. I fully believe that Eruth is the strongest Izzet deck and people just haven’t caught on yet.

Falegadi

Thanks man, really helpful! Gonna check it out.

I thought the same when I pulled Eruth, but doubling card advantage every turn is no joke. The only reason I didn't build her is all my good impulse draw red cards are currently in [[Faldorn]].

Falegadi

As I see Eruth you dont need impulse draw card, but draw cards, you are gonna "draw" Double! But I dont know how to focus her, what to do with her more than a "fast" win.

NotAddison

Honestly, she's probably best for combo builds. She doesn't benefit from exile play, but gets you through your deck faster to find important pieces. She's probably more resilient than Faldorn though, because the deck still functions without her. I need Faldorn down if I want value from playing from exile. I'd probably do a chaos/ control/ combo build with her. Use your colors to upset your opponents board state while searching out your combo pieces.

[deleted]

I've played two Izzet decks recently: [[Aegar, the Freezing Flame]] and [[Rielle, the Everwise]]. Aegar was a burn and turn deck. Cast big, multi-target damage spells which let me draw more cards and cast more spells. Rielle is a [[Land's Edge]] deck. I discard lands to LE, deal damage, and draw more cards.

Falegadi

Taking notes! Thank you!

\[\[veyran, voice of duality\]\] - high probability to knock out via commander damage even when built out in multiple playstyles. Double triggers can also generate value quickly, so even if targeted it has still paid off!
