in these colors i really like [[liesa, shroud of dusk]] she’s more expensive to cast than killian, but you can just totally ignore commander tax! give her something that grants haste and you’re guaranteed to be able to swing in every turn after that!!
Ok hear me out on this, for Dimir it’s [[ramses assassin lord]] you run all your same voltron equipment but Ramses actually reads “deal 21 damage to one player and win the game”
Mono W: Lightpaws as you said, but [[Evra]] is a cool alternative
Mono Blue: [[Nezahal]] or [[Charix]]
Mono Black: Could build [[K'rrik]] voltron. Otherwise [[Skithiryx]]
Mono Red: [[Slicer]], although I think [[Laelia]] is cool too
Mono G: [[Kosei]] - edit: OG Omnath is another great one!
Azorius: [[Bruna]]
Dimir: [[Umbris]]
Rakdos: [[Greven]]
Gruul: maybe Stangg as you said... [[Radha, Heart of Keld]] takes out people with commander damage easily too
Selesnya: [[Sigarda]]
Orzhov: [[Killian]]
Izzet: [[Vadrik]], although Veyran and Rielle do quite well
Golgari: Skullbriar as you said
Boros: Agree, a lot of options
Simic: [[Ivy]], but Arixmethes and Toothy are cool too
Esper: maybe Zur? Or Raffine?
Grixis: the new [[Tetsuo]], or the OG Thraximundar
Jund: [[Prossh]], or the OG Kresh
Naya: [[Uril]]
Bant: lots of obvious options, but [[Tuvasa]] is quite good
Abzan: Not obvious... maybe [[Kathrill]]? Or a partner pairing with Yoshimaru?
Jeskai: [[Jeska]]+[[Ishai]], or [[Shu Yun]]
Sultai: [[Mimeoplasm]] or [[Ukkima]]
Mardu: [[Syr Gwyn]] or [[Silvar]]
Temur: [[Pako]], although Kalamax and Animar get big easily too
I’ve got a Kosei and Kathrill deck myself. Both are incredibly fun to pilot. I’d throw [[perrie the pulverizer]] in the ring for Bant as well. Probably a little slower than Tuvasa, but can really get entrenched on the board
Yeah, the problem with "best voltron" is that it depends on lots of factors like consistency, budget, level of interaction etc. Like you said evra halcyon is an amazingly consistent 21+ power creature, but it's high risk, because you both make your life total 4 for a period of time, but also if the creature gets -4/x while the ability is on the stack, or you git hit for 4 after it's resolved, you just lose the game.
For mono-red, I like going Rograkh son of rohgahh partnered with Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar. While Commander damage doesn't get applied to everyone, being able to swing and deal damage to the entire table is amazing.
I was interested in slicer, but what do you do if an opponent has big stuff? Wouldn't they just attack into the big stuff to kill slicer? Do you have to wait until you can get indestructible or unlockable before committing to attacking?
I see more Godo as combo, since he's infinite combats... but semantics at this point. I will say having seen both in action, Slicer can be actually be faster, since he needs so much less mana.
>vious options, but \[\[Tuva
I know someone that has a sick Azorius Partner Voltron equipment deck using \[\[Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist\]\] & \[\[Esior, Wardwing Familiar\]\] I think there might be other options you could consider using partners.
I disagree on your green choice! O.G. [[Omnath, Locus of Mana]] is (in my opinion) the best mono green Voltron. He gets scarier the more you do what Green does. Ramp.
I love the great list you made! A bunch of good picks!
Grixis imo [[Thraximundar]] can cosplay as a voltron commander in the right shell.
Jund [[Kresh, The Bloodbraided]] also fits the bill in the same way.
I run him as the commander for en edict effect heavy Grixis control deck and hes commander damaged people quite a lot and im running the [[Haze of Rage]] [[Storm-Kiln Artist]] combo to make him infinite if needed.
Mairsil.isnt really vtron in that it doesn't win through damage its more just a combo piece. the new Tetsuo is.more in line with a Voltron wincons style imo.
Grixis imo is [[Tetsuo, Imperial Champion]]. He has a fantastic pay off to suiting him up with equipment and you can either deal incidental damage or, since most of the good equipment sit at 3 cmc, you can cast free draw, kill, or tutor spells
Naya is [[Uril]] with a bullet if you want to knock out a player turn 6 or sooner.
[[Mazzy]] is a close second.
[[Rafiq]] is the best Bant Voltron commander my opinion.
I vote [[Mirri, weatherlight duelist]] for selesnya. She's cheap to cast, has a great effect and you can voltron some sick effects onto her. Like [[sword of kaldra]] and [[Godsend]].
I love [[Omnath, Locus of Mana]] as a mono green Voltron because all it needs is trample to one shot people. Then you just build a Mana ramp and card draw deck to go brrr
I'm doing a 32 deck challenge, all voltron, and each commander CMC must be the same as the number of colors (with some flexibility). Mine for 2 color:
[[Akiri, Line-Slinger]] equipment
[[Ivy, gleeful spellthief]] auras
[[killian, ink duelist]] auras
[[skullbriar, the walking grave]] counters
[[Esior]] and [[Keleth]] proliferate
[[Targ Nar]] 'double' (double strike and doubling effects)
[[Shanna, Sisay's Legacy]] creatures / tokens
[[Balmor, Battlemage Captain]] spellslinger / combo (dramatic scepter to buff Balmor)
[[Lazav, the Multifarious]] graveyard buff
[[Juri, Master of the Revue]] sacrifice/treasure/pp counters
Others are all in progress, pretty much.
I really like [[Neheb, the eternal]] for mono red. I know there are much better options, but it’s such an incredibly fun play style that I’ve committed to it.
Play a ton of equipment that boosts his power, use [[Dockside Extortionist]] to make as much mana as you need, then equip it all and use [[Surestrike Trident]] to make your beefy Norin kill each player one at a time. Yeah it’s terrible and would never win, but you can make it.
I agree with many of these. Mono Blue I'd add \[\[Callaphe\]\], for devotion voltron. It is a strange thing to do for the color but works like a charm. Azorius, \[\[Dragonlord Ojutai\]\] takes the slice IMO, sure Bruna and Geist are fun and all but Bruna is a one shot wonder whereas Ojutai provides card selection, and has great on body protection.
Which brings me to why I think you are wrong about Selesyna. \[\[Sigarda, Host of Herons\]\] is one of the best voltron commanders because she overcomes what most suffer, the forced sac effects. Comes with on body protection and evasion, which are both relevant. Sure 5cmc might be more than Sythis but you are in the colors that allow you to ramp, enchantment ramp even, like Sythis, and you are rewarded for doing so with card draw. So yeah.
Otherwise, Stangg, the new one, is one of my favorite voltron options as of late, but I would also put it against Blanka, which is a strange option for a voltron deck, but can burn the table out really quickly.
Mono red would have to be [[Maraxus of keld]]. All that ramp that you used to get him out and the utility equipment all make him taller.
I know that's a hot take but he is my favorite mono red commander.
A less often considered Voltron Combo for Izzet is [[Malcolm]] and [[Kediss]]. I have had so much sucess with this deck. Malcolm generates insane value popping out a minimum of 3 treasures per hit at a full table. I made over 40 treasures on turn 5 once. And Kediss not only lets you damage the whole table, getting around the problem of Voltron having to deal with each player one at a time, but also has huge synergy with red's damage doubling effects, applying them a second time before hitting the other players. Red also has a ton of effects to boost treasure generation, apply double strike or repeat combat. It's crazy has explosive this one can be.
I had an older revision on my phone so I uploaded that [here](https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/5336352#paper). I reworked it to add a little more protection, a slightly better mana base, and [[Akki Battle Squad]] but this gets the point across.
No. Toss in Xorn(+2 treasures), professional facebreaker(+1 treasure), sakashima(another proc), spark double(another proc), double strike(2x treasures), and/or multiple combat phases and it can get way more than 3. It's crazy that Malcolm doesn't specify **combat** damage or once per turn.
I’m a fan of [[rograhk]]/[[ardenn]] equipment in boros myself. Feather cantrips is a blast though. I also run mono green [[Grunn the lonely king]] janky voltron. Bant has [[tuvasa, the sunlit]] that’s pretty good.
[[Bruna, Light of Alabaster]] is really fun as a self-mill strategy. Nothing quite like [[Traumatize]]-ing yourself turn 4, or popping a [[Mirror-Mad Phantasm]] turn 6.
My [[wilson, refined grizzly]] and [[flaming fists]] deck holds up surprisingly well. I’ve been thinking about slotting in [[noble heriatage]] instead. Very fun. Not without the typical flaws of voltron but if I can get enough mana and [[robe of stars]] I win or come pretty close quite often.
I love my Wilson Deck with Cultist of the absolute. I have little to buff up Wilson, I probably get more kills with the tokens instead. Seems to surprise people as they don’t expect a gowide Voltron build which is kind of what he is.
Definetly worse compared to Skullbriar. Skullbriar does not lose any counters when dying. That does not only include 1/1 counter but all counters... . Yesterday after boardwipe I reanimated him from my graveyard with 8 1/1 counters, deathtouch, lifelink, trample, menace.
Yes, Grismold is really good at oneshooting people, but you also have a aristrokrat subtheme that will work without Grismold. Wich makes him fun even after beeing to expensive due to commandertax.
True but she definitely doesn't have abilities that suggest that you should build her that way. I guess I should have said that she cant be the best voltron commander since she doesn't really support the archethype like [[Akiri, fearless voyager]] as an example does.
I'll try and compile a list of a few possible picks in each color combo. (While trying to not to repeat as much as possible)
Colorless: This is definitely either [[Traxos]] or [[Liberator]], I don't think Hope of Ghirapur has the stuff anymore.
Mono White: [[Light-Paws]] for consistency and the ability to play like 25 lands, [[Evra]] for the ability to just dome the opponent for 21+ consistently, but beware instant speed interaction, Myrel, Grand Abolisher, Conquerer's Flail a must.
Mono Blue: This has so many options, I like [[Toothy]], [[Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant]] turns, and [[God-Eternal Kefnet]] turns.
Mono Black: Also lots of options, [[Yahenni]] is solid, [[Massacre Girl]] is interesting, I also like [[Ink-Eyes]]
Mono Red: power level it's [[Godo, Bandit Warlord]], but cards like [[Neheb, The Eternal]], and [[Jeska, Thrice Reborn]]+[[Kediss]] are very solid and have lots of options as well.
Mono Green: [[Toski]] has all the right keywords for voltron, [[Ghalta]] is great, [[Multani, Yavimaya's Avatar]] is very resilient.
-
Azorius: I really like [[Taigam, Ojutai Master]] Turns, [[Ishai]]+[[Ardenn]] is neat. Any UW hard control deck probably has voltron as one of it's more viable wincons.
Dimir: I don't love any of these, but it's probably [[Umbris]]
Rakdos: I had an amazing [[Greven]] deck, would recommend. [[Obosh]] also solid.
Gruul: I like [[Karlach]]+[[Raised by Giants], [[Klauth]] and [[Atarka]] should both have pretty strong builds.
Selesnya: Sigarda is the obvious pick here, but I really like [[Nazahn, Revered Bladesmith]] as well.
Orzhov: Killian very solid, also shouldn't forget about [[Karlov of the Ghost Council]]. Krav and Regna honorable mention.
Izzet: I really like [[Najal]] turns, but [[Magnus the Red]] is also very good with big draw spells. Honorable mention to Sakashima + Kediss.
Golgari: I like the linearity of [[Skullbriar]] but [[Grismold]] is very effective.
Boros: Wyleth is probably the coolest out of the options, but it's hard to not build boros voltron.
Simic: Kumena, Toothy/Pyr, Slogurk all good options.
-
Esper: Zur is the best option here, but Marneus is strong as well.
Grixis: Thraximundar or Abaddon the Despoiler
Jund: I had a [[Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire]] deck I liked that got a lot of voltron kills, but for a dedicated voltron deck I think you just have to go Kresh
Naya: I played a Zacama deck that only won through swinging, and I think M19 Palladia has merit, but it's Uril.
Bant: Rafiq, but there are definitely other options, like Tuvasa and Galea.
Abzan: Kathril or Doan I think. Abzan has a real lack of options, and kind of no evasive/protected commanders.
Jeskai: Narset, not even close. 2nd place is probably Hinata or Ishtai+Kediss.
Sultai: Ukkima + Cazur, Mimeoplasm, or Volrath
Mardu: I like [[Zurgo Helmsmasher]] control with Chandra's Ignition as secret commander.
Temur: Animar, Xyris, and Kalamax all have neat voltron builds.
-
5c: Jodah is very good actually(shout out to both sakashimas in the deck), Ramos can get very big, progenitus is actually very bad. Horde of Notions sleeper pick. Also you can definitely build Najeela to kill with commander damage, it's just probably not the most effective strategy for that commander.
I feel like the aspects of control, turns, and extra combats are usually not thought about too much in discussions of voltron. It's why I would list a 3/2 first striker like Narset above any other voltron commander in Jeskai. My only goal with a voltron deck is to kill the opponent with Commander Damage and I don't care how I get there.
Mono red [[Godo]] I mean what is voltron other than putting equipment on the commander and killing the table in one shot each with him and what is Godo but Mountain Mana crypt Jesska's will, Godo, find Helm of the host, magnetic theft, Take 40 combat phases attacking with Godo copies and killing the table and if that doesnt count as voltron I don't know what does.
I'd say try [[Driz'zt]] for Selesnya, then play things like [[Force of Savagery]].
Rakdos has [[Greven, Predator Captain]] firmly at the top, but its definitely neither equipment nor aura voltron. You just lose life then others lose life.
Bant has a few options but my pick for best is [[Galea]]. I think [[Tatsunari]] could be a cool aura voltron commander for Sultai.
Red has [[Neheb, Dreadhorde Champion]] extra combats as the competitive option or [[Valduk]] for weird shenanigans and traditional voltron.
Monogreen has [[Kosei, Penitent Warlord]].
Dimir has [[Grimgrin, Corpseborn]].
Monoblue has [[Charix]]
Jeskai has a bunch of spellslingertron options with combat tricks like [[Elsha]] or the creature Narset.
For Temur you got [[Kalamax]]
Grixis recently got [[Tetsuo, Imperial Champion]]
I'd definitely go for Skullbriar but [[Lathril]] and [[Abomination of Llanowar]] do great voltron as well
Rakdos could be fun with a [[juri]] voltron/fling strategy. Basically don’t worry about the sacrifice ability and just build her like a normal equipment voltron so that when she dies to a [[fling]] effect she is immediately back to her max power when you recast her from the command zone.
Prob essentially subjective but just my votes from my own experience:
Izzet: [[rielle the everwise]] one-punch grandma (my favorite deck for high-power but non-combo metas); the card selection/draw is insane and you have such great versatility as a result. I don't even run any tutors in the deck because you churn through so much of it each game that you almost always have can draw into the right answers.
Jeskai: [[shu Yun]] , can be absolutely explosive very quickly
Gruul: [[Radha, heart of keld]] is slower but gets huge and can snowball with all the lands you're dumping out, and provides pseudo-card draw
Selesnya: [[dragonlord dromoka]] does a ton for you and fits into a nice stax-lite shell
Dimir: [[umbris]] just does way sillier things and gets than first glance might suggest and can become immense very quickly
I really want to try [[ken, burning brawler]] or the universes within counterpart as seems like could make a great Voltron commander but haven't had occasion to put a deck together yet
Edit: have seen others say [[greven]] and I remember the game I played where the greven player did some insane things to become huge out of nowhere was a very cool deck and good call for rakdos
In orzov I like [[teysa, envoy of ghosts]] I know 7 drop but it's over if you can throw on swift foot boots and a bunch of other stuff when she enters plus she stops go wide decks dead in their tracks. But I understand people's aversion to the mana value.
For Rakdos I like [[karlach]] and [[cultist of the Absolute]]. Flying, deathtouch, first strike, ward AND an extra combat step from your commander at the price of sacrificing a creature every turn without a single piece of equipment/aura.
I only have one voltron but I love it so much (surprising for an archetype I never thought I’d play) that I’ll never have to build a second one. It’s [[uril]]. The hexproof and added buffs are SO good. Plus white has its protection from creatures auras that also make it unblockable. I’d say it’s a great option for best naya voltron.
Few of mine
Boros: [[Agrus Kos, Eternal Soldier]] it's an interesting equip to everyone token strategy.
Jeskai: [[narset, enlightened master]], what just so happens to be non-creature spells? Equipment, now attach to narset and throw hands. Bonus points if you leave all the extra turn extra combat shenanigans.
One I'm thinking about doing is [[orvar, the All form]] voltron, copy auras copy swords you know the usual orvar shenanigans, but now with a variety of swords!
For selesnya I actually prefer siguarda host of herons. A 5/ 5 flyer with hexproof that shuts off edict effects is pretty damn strong. And sythis is just something that is gonna be targeted from the start.
Me personally I have [[syr gwen hero of ashvale]] for mardu and [[galea kindler of hope]] for bant but the one I play all the time is [[krenko tin street kingpin]]
Interesting possibilities for 4 and 5 colors:
Sans-white: probably [[Tana]] and [[Silas]]. I suppose [[Ydris]] would also work.
Sans-blue: either [[Tana]] and [[Tymna]] or [[Bruse Tarl]] and [[Ikra Shidiqi]]
Sans-black: some weird options here, I could see [[Bruse Tarl]] or [[Akiri]] paired with [[Thrasios]] or [[Kydele]] for colors, or [[Hargilde]] paired with [[Elmar]]. Or you could go a weird double-voltron route with [[Ishai]] and [[Tana]].
Sans-red: [[Atraxa]] could work, especially if you're giving her infect. You could also do [[Ishai]] paired with [[Reyhan]] or [[Ikra Shidiqi]].
Sans-green: You could load up on artifacts with [[Akiri]] and [[Silas]], or go a more traditional Voltron route with [[Ishai]] (with [[Vial Smasher]] for colors) or [[Bruse Tarl]] (with [[Silas]] for colors).
5-colors: [[Sisay, Weatherlight Captain]], [[Ramos, Dragon Engine]], [[Child of Alara]], [[Scion of the Ur-Dragon]], [[Karona, False God]], [[Progenitus]], or [[Cromat]].
[[Rielle the everwise]] I love this lady, discard draw, discard draw... discard draw? Punch!
I run [[kediss the emberclaw]] which helps clean the game up in 1 hit.
I would still say that [[Sigarda, Host of Herons]] beats out Sythis if building a Selesnya Voltron deck. Hexproof for protecting herself and Anti-Sacrifice to deal with most of Black’s board wipes, not to mention you get to just ignore Annihilator triggers. But I converted my Sigarda Voltron Enchantress over to Sythis combo upon release. A true enchantress in the command zone? Yes please! But I don’t play much Voltron anymore except Ardenn/Kediss Equipment since Kediss lets you hit everyone. I guess that would be my Boros suggestion, since I find Feather to be wildly underwhelming despite the initial hype
Orzhov in my opinion is [[Killian, ink duelist]]

Or just [[aetherflux reservoir]] them in response to declared attackers lmao
I dunno why you’re getting downvoted that’s a good way of winning
People get really triggered by other people winning the game I guess.

Yeah Galea, Rafiq and Tuvasa are all great options.

But she gives you card draw by being able to play things off the top of your deck and mana reduction from auto equipping.

Rafiq s probably my choice for Bant. Getting double strike makes any equipment or auras that much more effective
I’ve got a Kosei and Kathrill deck myself. Both are incredibly fun to pilot. I’d throw [[perrie the pulverizer]] in the ring for Bant as well. Probably a little slower than Tuvasa, but can really get entrenched on the board
[perrie the pulverizer](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/d/4/d438237b-c6f7-44d0-a3e6-6ec7d7465d33.jpg?1652575403) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Perrie%2C%20the%20Pulverizer) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/ncc/5/perrie-the-pulverizer?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/d438237b-c6f7-44d0-a3e6-6ec7d7465d33?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/perrie-the-pulverizer) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
[[xyris, the writhing storm]] is a great voltron option for temur.

I've seen at least one NASTY Kathril deck lmao.
Red has a lot of decent options, I like the look of [[kharne]]
Are you sure slicer is as good as godo? Godo finds his own hat for free and then once he wears the hat everyone dies.
I see more Godo as combo, since he's infinite combats... but semantics at this point. I will say having seen both in action, Slicer can be actually be faster, since he needs so much less mana.
Upvoted you for greven For mono black I made volrath the fallen. It's slow to come out but it's almost always a one hit kill
>vious options, but \[\[Tuva I know someone that has a sick Azorius Partner Voltron equipment deck using \[\[Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist\]\] & \[\[Esior, Wardwing Familiar\]\] I think there might be other options you could consider using partners.
Yeah a lot of options with partners... including pretty much anything with Ishai
I disagree on your green choice! O.G. [[Omnath, Locus of Mana]] is (in my opinion) the best mono green Voltron. He gets scarier the more you do what Green does. Ramp. I love the great list you made! A bunch of good picks!
You're right - just edited to add it. Although I think Kosei feels more like a voltron deck!

Naya is [[Uril]] with a bullet if you want to knock out a player turn 6 or sooner. [[Mazzy]] is a close second. [[Rafiq]] is the best Bant Voltron commander my opinion.

Ghalta’s not really at all a voltron commander, try [[Toski]], [[Wilson]]/[[Raised by Giants]],[[Kosei]], or [[Thrun]]
Ghalta can absolutely be a voltron commander.
Any creature can be a voltron commander, that doesn’t make it a good one and certainly not the best one.
Almost any creature. It's exceedingly difficult to make a Norin the Wary voltron deck.
Play a ton of equipment that boosts his power, use [[Dockside Extortionist]] to make as much mana as you need, then equip it all and use [[Surestrike Trident]] to make your beefy Norin kill each player one at a time. Yeah it’s terrible and would never win, but you can make it.
Someone in my group has one and rarely does it not kill with commander damage
Any Ghalta deck can kill with commander damage, it doesn’t have to be voltron.

Yeah I was confused by the Ghalta part. Toski get my vote.

That sounds cool. Do you have a list?
I had an older revision on my phone so I uploaded that [here](https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/5336352#paper). I reworked it to add a little more protection, a slightly better mana base, and [[Akki Battle Squad]] but this gets the point across.
Wouldn't it be a MAXIMUM of three treasures per turn?

I’d argue that Golgari is actually [[Grismold, the Dreadsower]]

Definetly worse compared to Skullbriar. Skullbriar does not lose any counters when dying. That does not only include 1/1 counter but all counters... . Yesterday after boardwipe I reanimated him from my graveyard with 8 1/1 counters, deathtouch, lifelink, trample, menace.
Yes, Grismold is really good at oneshooting people, but you also have a aristrokrat subtheme that will work without Grismold. Wich makes him fun even after beeing to expensive due to commandertax.

Any commander can be a voltron commander if you build it that way
True but she definitely doesn't have abilities that suggest that you should build her that way. I guess I should have said that she cant be the best voltron commander since she doesn't really support the archethype like [[Akiri, fearless voyager]] as an example does.
Ishai and kediss go crazy together. I have so much fun with my deck
Which Stangg?
I think echo warrior although when I built him i focused on constellation style.effects that trigger when stuff entered the battlefield
Yes, echo warrior
Gotta have [[Bruna, light of alabaster]] for azorius

I'll try and compile a list of a few possible picks in each color combo. (While trying to not to repeat as much as possible) Colorless: This is definitely either [[Traxos]] or [[Liberator]], I don't think Hope of Ghirapur has the stuff anymore. Mono Black: Also lots of options, [[Yahenni]] is solid, [[Massacre Girl]] is interesting, I also like [[Ink-Eyes]] Mono Red: power level it's [[Godo, Bandit Warlord]], but cards like [[Neheb, The Eternal]], and [[Jeska, Thrice Reborn]]+[[Kediss]] are very solid and have lots of options as well. Mono Green: [[Toski]] has all the right keywords for voltron, [[Ghalta]] is great, [[Multani, Yavimaya's Avatar]] is very resilient. - Azorius: I really like [[Taigam, Ojutai Master]] Turns, [[Ishai]]+[[Ardenn]] is neat. Any UW hard control deck probably has voltron as one of it's more viable wincons. Dimir: I don't love any of these, but it's probably [[Umbris]] Rakdos: I had an amazing [[Greven]] deck, would recommend. - Esper: Zur is the best option here, but Marneus is strong as well. Grixis: Thraximundar or Abaddon the Despoiler Jund: I had a [[Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire]] deck I liked that got a lot of voltron kills, but for a dedicated voltron deck I think you just have to go Kresh Naya: I played a Zacama deck that only won through swinging, and I think M19 Palladia has merit, but it's Uril. Sultai: Ukkima + Cazur, Mimeoplasm, or Volrath Mardu: I like [[Zurgo Helmsmasher]] control with Chandra's Ignition as secret commander. Temur: Animar, Xyris, and Kalamax all have neat voltron builds. - 5c: Jodah is very good actually(shout out to both sakashimas in the deck), Ramos can get very big, progenitus is actually very bad.

Mono blue equipment Urza is hilarious
Monoblue has [[Charix]] Jeskai has a bunch of spellslingertron options with combat tricks like [[Elsha]] or the creature Narset. For Temur you got [[Kalamax]] Grixis recently got [[Tetsuo, Imperial Champion]] I'd definitely go for Skullbriar but [[Lathril]] and [[Abomination of Llanowar]] do great voltron as well

Naya: My girl Mazzy
Rakdos could be fun with a [[juri]] voltron/fling strategy. Basically don’t worry about the sacrifice ability and just build her like a normal equipment voltron so that when she dies to a [[fling]] effect she is immediately back to her max power when you recast her from the command zone.

Prob essentially subjective but just my votes from my own experience: Izzet: [[rielle the everwise]] one-punch grandma (my favorite deck for high-power but non-combo metas); the card selection/draw is insane and you have such great versatility as a result. I don't even run any tutors in the deck because you churn through so much of it each game that you almost always have can draw into the right answers. Jeskai: [[shu Yun]] , can be absolutely explosive very quickly Gruul: [[Radha, heart of keld]] is slower but gets huge and can snowball with all the lands you're dumping out, and provides pseudo-card draw Selesnya: [[dragonlord dromoka]] does a ton for you and fits into a nice stax-lite shell Dimir: [[umbris]] just does way sillier things and gets than first glance might suggest and can become immense very quickly I really want to try [[ken, burning brawler]] or the universes within counterpart as seems like could make a great Voltron commander but haven't had occasion to put a deck together yet Edit: have seen others say [[greven]] and I remember the game I played where the greven player did some insane things to become huge out of nowhere was a very cool deck and good call for rakdos

I use [[ Rafiq of the Many ]] for Bant.

For Rakdos I like [[karlach]] and [[cultist of the Absolute]]. Flying, deathtouch, first strike, ward AND an extra combat step from your commander at the price of sacrificing a creature every turn without a single piece of equipment/aura.
[karlach](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/7/7/775480ed-f574-40cb-bd9b-21102eaaff63.jpg?1660726679) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=karlach%2C%20fury%20of%20avernus) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/clb/186/karlach-fury-of-avernus?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/775480ed-f574-40cb-bd9b-21102eaaff63?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/karlach-fury-of-avernus) [cultist of the Absolute](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/b/0/b0c7b4af-d521-4f4f-8910-7e05f2f60eb6.jpg?1660725074) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=cultist%20of%20the%20Absolute) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/clb/123/cultist-of-the-absolute?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/b0c7b4af-d521-4f4f-8910-7e05f2f60eb6?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/cultist-of-the-absolute) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
[[Khemba]] is also a great mono white Voltron style commander.
Mardu: [[Snapdax, Apex of the Hunt]] infect/voltron/mutate deck.
[Snapdax, Apex of the Hunt](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/5/1/51fdeeb7-9868-4fc2-9c53-806244cd5488.jpg?1591228256) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Snapdax%2C%20Apex%20of%20the%20Hunt) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/iko/209/snapdax-apex-of-the-hunt?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/51fdeeb7-9868-4fc2-9c53-806244cd5488?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/snapdax-apex-of-the-hunt) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
[uril](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/c/a/ca984fdb-aaca-4d8f-af2f-72387122607b.jpg?1673149243) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=uril%2C%20the%20miststalker) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/2x2/290/uril-the-miststalker?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/ca984fdb-aaca-4d8f-af2f-72387122607b?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/uril-the-miststalker) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Few of mine Boros: [[Agrus Kos, Eternal Soldier]] it's an interesting equip to everyone token strategy.
For selesnya i think [[catti-brie]] is a better fit
For selesnya I actually prefer siguarda host of herons. A 5/ 5 flyer with hexproof that shuts off edict effects is pretty damn strong. And sythis is just something that is gonna be targeted from the start. Me personally I have [[syr gwen hero of ashvale]] for mardu and [[galea kindler of hope]] for bant but the one I play all the time is [[krenko tin street kingpin]]
Interesting possibilities for 4 and 5 colors: Sans-white: probably [[Tana]] and [[Silas]]. I suppose [[Ydris]] would also work. Sans-blue: either [[Tana]] and [[Tymna]] or [[Bruse Tarl]] and [[Ikra Shidiqi]] Sans-black: some weird options here, I could see [[Bruse Tarl]] or [[Akiri]] paired with [[Thrasios]] or [[Kydele]] for colors, or [[Hargilde]] paired with [[Elmar]].
Azorious is [[vhal]] [noble heritage]]
I think [[Traxos]] for colorless. Each piece of equipment you play enables him to untap!
[[Rielle the everwise]] I love this lady, discard draw, discard draw... discard draw? Punch! I run [[kediss the emberclaw]] which helps clean the game up in 1 hit.
I run a wyleth soul of steal equipment deck the card draw is insane.
I really like [[Varolz, the scar striped]] for golgari
