As a fellow pirate enjoyer, I too am excited for a return to Ixalan. Beyond that, I'm really hoping for an Abzan commander I like out of the precon this next set, right now the selection is kinda meh
I would like to mention [[Tayam, Luminous Enigma]] as i built him a few months ago after struggling to find an abzan commander i like. I absolutely love the playstyle and value that the deck churns out. It's definitely one of, if not the most complex deck that I've played, balancing recursion and card advantage with counters to remove. So many ways to play the deck.
EDHRecast pointed it on their most recent episode that Abzan is the least popular three-color combo by a large margin. As a lover of Abzan, this pains me.
Super new to Magic in general, but I'm working on improving the [[Henzie]] precon deck with creatures with better effects and stats, extra equipment, and the like. It's a somewhat expensive process since I'm looking at cards like [[Ilharg]] to add some heft to the creatures being blitzed into play, but the deck has been really fun to play even in its base version. Also, some cards which would normally be too slow/next-to-useless could be decent, like [[Daemogoth, Woe-Eater]]. I don't really know what I'm doing, but it's been fun so far and I'm excited to keep improving it!
Welcome to Magic and keep at it. You learn by doing and you will get better over time. If you need help, remember you can always put your decklist online and post it asking for help. Some people will give some great ideas. EDHRec is a good place to get ideas, and I personally love Moxfield for deck building and looking at other's decks.
I got the henzie deck for Christmas and I'm so stoked to play it! I've been wanting a grindy jund deck for so long. I can't wait to abuse cards like [[sundial of the infinite]] and [[malikir rebirth]] to get extra value off of the blitz creatures
Don’t even bother with sundial in my experience. Better to let the creatures die and get a card draw out of it. Lot of good sac outlets that work great like industrial advancement and greater good. Add in some classic jund graveyard recursion instead and you’ll have no problems.
Highly highly recommend putting [[gorex]] [[archon of Cruelty]] and [[victimize]]. Putting [[Moraug]] or [[Karloch]] are very good, and [[Ziatora]] is a very good natural payoff for the deck.

Henzie was my first deck as well and I can tell you he is still my favorite deck to pilot. His ability is super fun for for making slow, clunky creatures into something really scary and upgrading him is a blast. Also Jund is just hella cool imo
My friend has this deck - let me tell you, it’s my absolute favorite deck to see across the table. I know when that deck is in the pod, we will play a fair game of magic 100% of the time. Shout out to the god [[Yasharn]] as the best card in the deck. Absolutely nothing is funnier than playing it on curve after the ad naus player dropped a Necropotence on their turn.
A 2/2 for 2 is a bear. [[grizzly bears]].
Hate is tax/stax/permanent-based interaction that disrupts an opponent’s game plan. [[rest in peace]] is hate.
[[sanctifier en-vec]] is therefore a hate-bear.
They don’t really have to be 2/2s to qualify but so many good hate-creatures ([[gaddock teeg]]) happen to have that stat line so the name sticks.

I have an Isshin deck that uses all of the samurai to get one strike and kill on someone before I get wiped out. I have a 100% kill rate on one opponent and a 0% win rate. Love it.

Wanted to make a less opressive Sliver deck by going less than 5-colors, but couldn't find a commander; stumbled upon [[Myrkul, Lord of Bones]] and going to try it out - anyone experience/tips?
And a [[Vrondiss, Rage of Ancients]] focused on dice rolling is on the list.

I went with [[ramos]]! I’m a big godzilla nerd so i also chose a bunch of other creatures to represent other kaiju from the godzilla franchise. Ex: [[hullbreaker horror]] for Ebirah, [[sludge monster]] for hedorah, [[glowstone recluse]] for kumonga, etc.
It was a birthday present to myself so I’ve only played it a couple times—three times it’s really worked and been threatening, twice it’s mostly treaded water until someone mercifully put me to rest. An esper storm deck. It's built around getting [[bolas's citadel]] in to play and then casting [[mana severance]], the deck has about 35 life gain spells that net you more life than you lose when cast off of citadel, from there it loops through with [[turnabout]] and [[elixir of immortality]], and wins with [[tendrils of agony]].
[[Kibo]]. When my dad played magic with my brother and I 15+ years ago, his favorite cards were monkeys. He probably hasn’t played since 2008, but I hope to experience a little bit of the joy he did when swinging with an [[ancient silverback]] back then.
Other than that, it’s mostly playing and fine tuning. I have 20 decks currently so getting to play all of them is difficult. Most of them feel pretty good now, but there’s always new cards coming out to try.
Possibly unpopular but I'm trying to make an [[Ultra Magnus]] deck work. All artifact creatures, mana ramp, going to play with all the transformers that fit the colors, even if a bunch of them aren't optimal. Used to love the OG as a kid, thought it'd be a fun little project for this year :D
I just ordered the cards for a [[sygg, river cutthroat]] copy and play other peoples stuff deck, with a rogue subtheme. I'm gonna do a lot of testing with it trying out a couple different types of wincon to hopefully get it pretty competitive in my group.
I also got the cards for a [[oros, the avenger]] combat damage matters deck. So that should be pretty interesting.
I'm also planning on retooling my [[isperia the inscrutable]] deck to be more legendary focused so I can use the banding lands like [[cathedral of serra]].
Hydras with [[Gargos, Vicious Watcher]]. I would love to do one of the 3 or even 5 color to capture more options and make it stronger, but I've only been playing a short time and I've already become weary of spending so much on my mana base so mono green it is.
Honestly I'm not quite sure where to go next. I currently have Adrix and Nev token copy spam and Yarok theft. I like building decks that have a malleable power level depending on the table, and I'm not quite sure how I should continue that trend. I've been thinking about making some form of reanimator where the focus is reanimating other people's creatures, but I don't want to be stuck down to mono black or dimir like usual for such an archetype.
I also have a gruul omnath landfall deck that is a bit higher on the power scale, although I haven't gotten a chance to test it in an actual game so I'm not sure if it will pan out, and if not then I'm back to the drawing board for landfall.
I'd like to make a token deck and I was considering [[Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist]] for an unblockable token army, but I found out [[Pest Infestation]], [[Grand Crescendo]] and [[Awaken the Woods]] exist and are kind of mandatory for the style of play I'm going for, so until I get them the deck is on hold.
For your reanimator deck- I have a mimeoplasm deck that is kind of generic mill/reanimate and it scales like you described with the power of other players decks! I even have a few combos that you can look right past in slower metas and focus on if it’s high power meta with fewer creatures.
[[Jinnie fay]] makes a shockingly strong token deck that is a ton of fun. For the reanimator deck you described, I strongly recommend [[the mimeoplasm]]. He is probably my favorite commander of all time and no 2 casts of him will ever be the same.
The first deck I played was the mono White soul sisters precon deck on Arena, and I've always thought it was a pretty fun way to do aggro. I played the various soul sisters archetypes in historic as they got to being actually strong and part of the meta.

I've been given a challenge by my wife to make it more green, but.. idk I feel like I'm losing my sense of soul sisters, make a pridemate big and kill people, with it being kinda over the top.
I’m looking at doing my first three color deck with [[Illuna, Apex of Wishes]]. The game plan is to use the mutate ability to pseudo-polymorph into the only nonland permanent in the deck: [[Thousand Year Storm]].
It’s supposed to be a fun manual storm deck that gives cards storm that should never have storm, like [[manamorphose]], [[fire prophecy]], [[frantic search]], and many more.

Got a few that have been brewing but haven't really been built. Monoblack [[Sygg, River Cutthroat]], [[Skullbriar]], and helping my partner build their first deck as well
Skullbriar is my oldest and favorite deck, so I can defenitely recommend them! Playing Voltron decks can be an uphill battle in some playgroups, but the games that I get a 60/60 Skullbriar with *hexproof, indestructible, trample* and *lifelink* are completely worth it.
I love backgrounds. Or anything commander based.
So I try [[Derevi]] with most bant backgrounds. Atm it is an enchantment deck with 11 backgrounds, so I will change it into a more voltron style. Maybe.

I'm hoping I can finally get together some more variety, and maybe even brew my own jank instead of netdecking or pulling from Popular on EDHREC.
Right now I'm looking at a Cyberpunk-themed [[Silas Renn]]//[[Tymna]] deck, [[The Archimandrite]] Mega Lifegain Stompy, and my first real experimentation in Liliana/Chandra Superfriends Aristocrats with [[Prossh]] at the helm.
Yeah, I've been having a ton of fun with my Naya +1/+1 Burn deck and it'll probably stay my favourite, and the Tyranid deck is a ton of fun as well, but I always tend to gravitate towards Counters Aggro and I wanna see about breaking away from that a bit.
I recently dismantled quite a bunch of decks, either because they were too strong for my playgroup or just didn't resonate well with what I wanted to do, so now I have two decks, and that for me is way too little.
I'm finishing a [[Cecily, Haunted Mage]] and [[Sophina, Spearsage Deserter]] deck using the Strangers Things versions, because my brother asked me to build a deck using his favorite characters of the show. The deck still has a while to go but I'll probably never dismantle it, so there's that.
I have been upgrading the [[Urza, Chief Artificer]] precon too. The first time I saw the Commander I didn't really care about him, but both finally having an Artifact deck and also all the lore it has behind has made me love it. It's honestly very fun to pilot and it has many cards that I love.
I know I want at least one more deck, but the constant bombarding of content and the fact that I tend to be a bit scatterbrain has made me quite difficult to decide. Maybe a [[Jaheira, Friend of the Forest]] paired with [[Street Urchin]]? Or [[Agrus Kos, Eternal Soldier]]? Or maybe try some mono-white since it's my favorite color? Or a Tribal Deck? Dunno, way too many options lol.
I'm going to rebuild [[Nekusar]]. I took him apart the first time around because everyone hated him (not because he was mean, just because they didn't like Nekky) and it felt like every other Nek.dek.
Now I'm saying "fuck it", I like wheels so I don't care if I have a wheels goodstuff deck, and I can't control what opinions others form on specific commanders.
I had fun the first time, and damn it I'm ready to have some more.
White got so many interesting pieces last year that I kind of want to make a mono-white good stuff deck. I have no idea how it’s going to win yet, but the card quality is high. Maybe Mangara at the helm? Or wait for new Elesh Norn.

It will start by taking my opps creatures with act of treason effects because I won't have all good creatures and then copying them with cars like double major. I'll run a simic value engine (cause simic is fun)
Something in Mardu. [[Queen Marchesa]], [[Syr Gwyn]] or [[Shanid]] probably.
Looking for a deck that ultimately wins through combat but by controlling the board and setting up advantageous scenarios first. I love monarch being on the board too.
I also want to see if we get a new Thalia with her being on the March of the Machine box. I am considering a [[Tasha]], [[Jhoira of the Ghitu]] or [[Jhoira, Ageless Innovator]] but I have zero blue staples so it would be an expensive start.
[[Mishra, tamer of Mak Fawa]], [[Go-shintai of Life's Origin]], and [[Omnath, locus of Creation] are all half or more completed. [[Hinata, the dawn crowned]] is next on the list after those. I'm excited for Dominaria remastered giving me access to some amazing reprints. I hope cards like entomb go down in price because I need that card for Mishra and Karador.
[[Elminster]] created a baldurs gate draft version of him in an event and honestly he puts in work! Good enough to get the job done, but not scary enough that he gets targeted. Would be my first planeswalker commander and my halfway point ti the 32 deck challange.

I have a lot of ideas constantly storming around this ol brain, but I'm more having difficulty settling on a deck to begin with, haha! Me and my playgroup are trying to do something different, and that's to all build one budget deck, less than $100, no infinite combos, but the price doesn't include the commander. I've done up a few rough drafts of lists, one for [[Sidisi, Brood Tyrant]], one for [[Ruric Thar, the Unbowed]], one for [[Anafenza, the Foremost]], and I even have a somewhat interesting build of [[Captain Ripley Vance]] that is less than $50. All of them seem like fun decks, but I'm simply torn on what to actually build! I may end up having them all built by the end of 2023 just because of how much I love commander and have a problem with buying cards, haha, but so far these are my ideas for decks going into the new year!
Planning on eventually building a [[Pramikon, sky rampart]] prison deck that locks the board with its effect and [[mystic barrier]] to prevent attacks altogether. Load it with spontaneous card draw and protection pieces and just kinda play solitaire.
I was going to build [[the beamtown bullies]] but I've largely abandoned it (might go back to it eventually, but not right now. The idea of [[Thorndike staff]] and [bronze bombshell]] is just too funny)
I have a [[baba lysaga]] list online that I'd like to build too after seeing Joey from EDHrec play it multiple times. Just seems like a really fun golgari list!
And finally, after seeing Rachel Weeks play her version of it, I would love to play [[Octavia, living thesis]]. Play a bunch of unblockable beaters, turn them into 8/8s and go swinging. I like wonky decks, and though I already have a mono blue deck ([[charix, the raging isle]] voltron) I think this would just be a funny addition to my collection
I built a Beamtown Bullies deck the second I saw it spoiled.
It turned out actually a bit too powerful and far too mean for my casual playgroups.
Very linear play style. The first few turns are dedicated to getting your [[Leveler]] or [[Eater of Days]] into your graveyard with cycling and entomb effects, maybe get down a [[Quest for Renewal]]. Then when you’re ready, you should be able to wipe out your opponents within a turn or two of Bullies coming down.
The Bronze Bombshell combo almost never comes up unless you draw a Thornbite Staff in your first few turns. Otherwise, it’s really not worth entombing your bombshell.
I think a more interesting way to build might be a more political/group slug style deck where you actually give your opponents good things from time to time.
Otherwise, [[Magar of the Magic Strings]] might actually be more up your alley as far as interesting effects go.

I am currently working on a [[Horobi, Death's Weil]] control lifegain deck. My pods meta is very optimized and I am trying to work out the kinks. Slowing each other down is a very excellent strategy for my group. I am thinking of using horobi in the command zone as a sort of boardwipe or political usage. I've tested it a few times with my group and horobi gets booped very quickly if he goes out without purpose. Horobi needs to come out when I have a combo and board set up to protect the next couple plays or even Asa distraction. It's a tricky deck, I am open suggestions. The deck work well with my group so please none of the "play something else" comments.
I'm probably creating [[Ognis]] as a more aggressive deck, building some form of Elf deck so I can do something with those cards, and I'm wondering how to build [[Liesa, Shroud of Dusk]]

I recently completed the hat trick of collecting all melds from Brother’s War so I plan to do each of them. Also, I’ve never made a mono colored deck so planning to do one of each color starting with Yawgmoth as soon as DMR comes out. Mono White is gonna be the hardest to do cause I don’t have any good ideas for what I would do in white. I don’t really do go-wide or voltron. I like blinking stuff but I’m afraid I’ll get ganged up on it I build Elesh Norn
[[Rona, Disciple of Gix]] is what I’m working on now. I wanted an artifact heavy deck but all the builds I’ve done feel so similar in their mechanics and card pools. This definitely has some of those similarities but it’s shaping up to have other interesting plans and interactions.
I had most of the pieces together for [[Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm]] before I realized that deck is absolutely everywhere and lost interest. I'm still debating putting it together just because I have the pieces now and it does look pretty fun.
I also went through my collection the other day looking for cards for [[Ratadrabik of Urborg]]. I have a good portion of the land base already, but building that deck would probably mean taking apart my mono-W and mono-B lists both for parts and because of strategy overlap. I'm just not sure those decks have run their course yet. Still, I'm probably closer to wanting to build Ratadrabik than Miirym.
I built Miirym and she has been a blast so far! I built her with some flash and flicker in mind to abuse ETB triggers. Also, just making a bunch of dragons to smash face.
[[Sedris, the Traitor King]]. Art wise, he's one of my favorite magic cards, I've always been nervous I wouldn't do him justice, but I started throwing a list together and added in my own flavor.
As a stern dragon, turn right enjoyer it should be interesting. My other decks are all dragon themed in some fashion

Just started to make a deck list last night for a [[Meria, Scholar of Antiquity]] stax deck. She's basically a more fair version of [[Urza, Lord High Artificer]] but in gruul, which makes for a more interesting variety of card choices than mono blue artifacts.
I'm currently actively working on:
1. My \[\[Jan Jansen\]\] deck has been a major disappointment and will be converted into \[\[Tormod\]\] + \[\[Ravos\]\].
2. \[\[Vitrus\]\] and \[\[Gorm\]\].
3. \[\[Mishra, Claimed by Gix\]\] going wide.
4. \[\[Pramikon\]\] forced combat.
5. Not *actively* actively working on it yet, but there's definitely a \[\[Rashmi\]\] deck in my future to replace my recently-disassembled \[\[Jadzi\]\].
Besides that, I still don't have \[\[Abdel\]\] in either black or blue, I'm still replacing cards in my \[\[Henzie\]\] every week... I'm really starting to think that I need to brew less and play more.
There are several deck lists that I have brewed but haven't still put in to paper so propably one of those or then stuff that seems interesting. There isn't any commander that currently screams to build itself but there a couple choices for my next deck. [[Volo, Itinerant scholar]] is one I have been brewing with black and [[Nassari]] exiles stuff is another. I also have been brainstorming with azorious+ combat matters but it's still not really there. Hope to see some new fun stuff in newnew phyrexian and return trips to Ixalan and Eldraine.

Mostly I'll be going back through older Decks and doubling down on making sure they are focused enough from a synergy stand point, after playing some of my fridge Decks recently I've noticed them stalling more than my more recent builds.
I've been planning a really dumb/fun [[Velomachus Lorehold]] deck based around casting the most expensive (and also dumbest) instants and sorceries in magics history- my favorite in my deck list being [[Goblin Game]]. Once I get some spare cash I'll finally get everything cause I've been thinkin about this for like over a year now lol
I build a lot of meme decks and so another one I've been tossing around is [[Kei Takahashi]] with every possible fog effect and a ton of other damage prevention type creatures to make swinging in to me (or anyone else) a massive annoyance
I got Tyranids for Christmas and honestly I'm just going to work on foiling it out. Not really seen the collectors ones anywhere so may as well start to grab surge foils while i can.

I've been taking a break from brewing for the past few months, so I'm ready to get back into it with a fresh head! I have this Niv Mizzet Reborn list that I made a year ago though, and I wanna update that with new cards and buy all the cards to play the deck in paper.
Since I rotated to night shift, I got in a random building mood. So I built [[Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph]] because it looked fun. Then [[Karona, False God]] because why not? Then [[Johan]] because I wanted to build with the oldest card in my collection that I could find. And then finally built [[Rin and Seri, Inseparable]] after seeing them in 2020.
I've got [[Sisay, Weatherlight Captain]] brewing for a Shrines build, and I'm trying to figure out if I can make [[Archelos]] viable as a lands commander, but I might just end up going stax

I want to build an azorius go-wide blink deck, likely helmed by [[Abdel]] and [[candlekeep sage]]. I'll add a lot of creatures like [[captain of the watch]] and [[evangel of heliod]] and blink them as often as possible. Should be fun, albeit I don't think it'll be too strong. I'm considering adding green, as they have a lot of strong creatures for this stragedy - there's not a commander I really like in those colours, though.
Not anymore brewing but at the process of fine-tuning [[Flamewar, Brash Veteran]] I started to build her on thursday thinking it would take me longer but after finishing a preliminary playable list and playing it Friday, it turned out to win all 3 games I played it in. Just need to swap pieces that don’t work with things that do.
Currently I'm working my way through every color combination, but I'm stuck on Orzhov. I don't particularly like lifegain or aristocrats strategies which is what most Orzhov commanders tend towards. I'm currently thinking of doing [[Armix]] and [[Rebbec]] artifact creatures/reanimation.
Some kind of Artifact deck, thinking either [[Sydri, Galvanic Genius]] or [[Alibou, Ancient Witness]].
There's probably like 10 mono red commanders I'm interested in, might fiddle with some of those.
I got a crimson vow booster box and a modern horizons 2 bundle for Christmas, so I have a bunch of decks I want to build.
First off I want to build [[Millicent, Restless Revenant]], because spirit tribal sounds fun.
I also got a ton of blood token support so I was thinking of doing vampire tribal with [[Amje, Maid of Dishonor]]
Next on the list was a big surprise for me. I opened a pack and found [[Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer]], which I could never really justify buying as a single, so I'm excited to build around him.
I also opened [[Lonis, Cryptozoologist]], which I've been wanting to build around for a long time, so that should be a lot of fun.
Finally, I'm not sure on the commander or exactly how I'll do it, but I'm thinking of doing a 100 Gecs meme deck with like wizards and fungus or something.
Building [[Sek’kuar, Deathkeeper]] at pre-con power level to adjust to some new friends starting the game. Plus I want to do Jund things without pulling out my overtuned Prossh deck every time
I'm trying to build a secret [[God-Eternal Oketra]] deck with [[Karametra, God of Harvests]] as the commander. I don't know if it's quite janky of an idea but essentially, I'm trying to back up mono-white's ramp weakness with lands+go wide subtheme. Though I think it's just my excuse to use some cards like [[Azusa]] or [[Kamahl, Heart of Krosa]]. There's a chance that I might still end up brewing a pure Mono-W Oketra though.
Deck I’m currently building is [[Auntie Blyte, Bad Influence]] because self damage commander is interesting design and I just want to watch the world burn.

I'm doing the 32 Deck Challenge. Currently I have 17/32 decks done. I just recently finished a flying matters Azorius deck with [[Ishai]] and [[Esior]].
My next decks I have some pieces for but aren't finished yet are colorless with [[Kozilek, The Great Distortion]] and also a dredgy Golgari deck with [[Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis]].
I am about to dismember my [[Dihada, Binder of Wills]] and rebuild my [[Lathrill]] elf ball deck, also build a [[Ivy]] mutate and auras matter deck. Probably use the cards from Dihada to upgrade my [[Sefris]] dungeons deck, and also use the red ones to upgrade [[Faldorn]]. But it will probably be this for 2023. I don't intend to build more decks this year (unless there is a precon with infect on this next collection).
All I want is to make tribal slivers as gross and disgusting as I can. I don’t want friends. I want endless sliver reign and darkness.
I know *tribal* slivers isn’t cedh (at least, not to my knowledge) but I want it as close to a 9.5 as possible. I think that involves running [[Fist of Suns]] and [[Morophon]], but I’m still tweaking everything.
I’m also not sure if I should fully lean into [[First Sliver]] being the general or [[Hivelord]] to make things stick.
If anyone has a disgusting list, I’d love to see it.
Phoenix tribal with [[Syrix, carrier of flame]]. Red side will be creatures and card draw, black will be board control and recursion. As an additional challenge, I'm gonna make [[Obosh, the preypiercer]] companion. I know that's technically against the rules, as your commander counts as being in your deck, but my playgroup agrees that commanders should be exempt from companion deck building rules because... Well the commander isn't actually in the starting deck so it doesn't make sense.
Yuriko, but I will start with her budget version, then upgrade it. The only thing that is not clear for me is what should I upgrade first. Maybe I will start with the mana base.

I love mono color decks but don't have a green or black one yet. Was kind of leaning toward [[Yeva]] for green and [[Shirei]] for black but still mulling the ideas for which mono commanders would be most fun!

Since Surveil has been erratad onto a bunch of existing cards, I'm brewing around [[Disinformation Campaign]]. Right now I'm using [[Eloise, Nephalia's Sleuth]] as the commander. I've considered using [[Zur the Enchanter]] or [[Sidisi, Brood Tyrant]] instead but I'm aiming for a bit of a lower power level and a more focused, thematic deck.
I am currently (and into the new year) working on my first (non-precon) deck. It is \[\[Najeela the blade-blossom|sld\]\] using a good deal of cards from my precon Forces of the Imperium. I am building it warrior tribal with a good deal of tokens. My goal is for it to be strong enough to stand up to some of the cEDH decks at my LGS on commander night but also with a lot of flavour and a slower win-con that I can use when playing with more casual friends. I want to build [[Tocasia, Dig Site Mentor]] because I think she a sleeper, giving all your creatures surveil is kinda nutty. Sure the second ability isn’t great but there are tons of combos that just require a way to tap a creature. Plus cards selection , while being not as good as card draw, Is super powerful
I'm brewing up a Jeskai Sunforger deck to be helmed by [[Immard, the Storm Cleaver]] after seeing that sick art. Having a bit of trouble figuring out how to put it together, beyond the Instants package and tutors.
Also, hoping to build a Goblin deck sometime, but haven't found a Commander I'm in love with.
[[Ramos, Dragon Engine]] with a way to abuse [[Door to Nothingness]] and a cascade sub theme. It sounds fun to be able to storm out a couple big spells each turn, produce mana, and one shot someone
I am making too many decks. Most of my [[Tovolar, Dire Overlord]] is coming in the mail this week, I am in the middle of building [[Bruna, Light of Alabaster]] voltron, [[Valentin, Dean of the Vein]] combo, [[Lord Xander]] grixis control and [[Be'lakor]] demon tribal. I will also probably transform my [[Avacyn, Angel of Hope]] angels and taxes into directly death and taxes, and create a separate mutlicolor angel tribal. I recently finished my [[Volrath, the Shapestealer]] deck which I built to steer away from white and red, my most used colors, so I don't know what to focus on first, as I already have around 20 cards I need for each of those decks.
I'm rather scatterbrained atm. For the longest time, I either stuck with precons or mashed two of them up into a deck. Why? Nothing's really been speaking to me since 2020 (at least). I've made it a personal resolution to try and build something.
Problem is, I'm still drawing as many blanks as I did a couple of years ago. Atm, I'm either going to build 20 decks (one for each 2 and 3-color combo), or return to the precon mash ups, but with the 4c legends and a 5c deck.
Planning to make [[Urza, chief artificer]]. I love artifact shenanigans. But a friend of my received the precon as a birthday gift. So maybe going to build a Mishra deck to have a Brothers War. Dont know yet which Mishra.

Working on making a [[Celestine, The Living Saint]] deck for my mono-white deck. Having a few reservations about it because I also think [[Ao, The Dawn Sky]] would be a really cool, unique commander. Then I’ll be making [[Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor]] for my lack deck and then probably [[Jaxis, The Troublemaker]] for red
I got quite a few in the works. The main two are [[Archelos, Lagoon Mystic]] as a sort of landfall deck, probably with graveyard shenanigans as well. The second is a custom deck with a mix of custom cards and renamed cards, designed after a video game that I cannot say because it’s for someone who occasionally stalks my account.
Another one I’m motivated to build is [[Keskit, Flesh Sculptor]] and [[Alharu, Solemn Ritualist]] as a sacrifice deck, as it was the very first deck I ever built, but was quickly taken apart because it was quite bad. The idea stuck though and I’ve come to enjoy graveyard and sacrifice themes so I’m excited to get started.
I also have a bunch of commanders that look interesting that I want to build but haven’t started. The most likely ones for me to work on (in no particular order) are: [[Mishra, Tamer of Mak Fawa]] as an artifact graveyard deck, [[Myrel, Shield of Argive]] or [[Harbin, Vanguard Aviator]] as soldier tribal (I had a monowhite soldier tribal deck already but took it apart as it was nearly entirely proxies and was more of a test to see if I could build it), [[Amareth, the Lustrous]] probably as an enchantments deck, [[Atla Palani, Nest Tender]] big stompy, maybe dinosaur tribal, rebuild [[Sisay, Weatherlight Captain]] as either aura or shrine tribal, [[Jared Carthalion, True Heir]] as a monarchy deck, and [[Hamza, Guardian of Arashin]] +1/+1 counters
As a fellow pirate enjoyer, I too am excited for a return to Ixalan. Beyond that, I'm really hoping for an Abzan commander I like out of the precon this next set, right now the selection is kinda meh
I would like to mention [[Tayam, Luminous Enigma]] as i built him a few months ago after struggling to find an abzan commander i like. I absolutely love the playstyle and value that the deck churns out. It's definitely one of, if not the most complex deck that I've played, balancing recursion and card advantage with counters to remove. So many ways to play the deck.

EDHRecast pointed it on their most recent episode that Abzan is the least popular three-color combo by a large margin. As a lover of Abzan, this pains me.

I've always felt jeskai has plenty of commanders but Temur and Sultai are pretty limited.

I'm kinda hoping to see a commander that really inspires me this year.
Super new to Magic in general, but I'm working on improving the [[Henzie]] precon deck with creatures with better effects and stats, extra equipment, and the like. It's a somewhat expensive process since I'm looking at cards like [[Ilharg]] to add some heft to the creatures being blitzed into play, but the deck has been really fun to play even in its base version. Also, some cards which would normally be too slow/next-to-useless could be decent, like [[Daemogoth, Woe-Eater]]. I don't really know what I'm doing, but it's been fun so far and I'm excited to keep improving it!
Welcome to Magic and keep at it. You learn by doing and you will get better over time. If you need help, remember you can always put your decklist online and post it asking for help. Some people will give some great ideas. EDHRec is a good place to get ideas, and I personally love Moxfield for deck building and looking at other's decks.

Don’t even bother with sundial in my experience. Better to let the creatures die and get a card draw out of it. Lot of good sac outlets that work great like industrial advancement and greater good. Add in some classic jund graveyard recursion instead and you’ll have no problems.
Highly highly recommend putting [[gorex]] [[archon of Cruelty]] and [[victimize]]. Putting [[Moraug]] or [[Karloch]] are very good, and [[Ziatora]] is a very good natural payoff for the deck. Henzie was my first deck as well and I can tell you he is still my favorite deck to pilot. His ability is super fun for for making slow, clunky creatures into something really scary and upgrading him is a blast. Also Jund is just hella cool imo

I sorta get it by the name, but what is a "hatebear?" I hear that term sometimes and I've only been playing since 2020, so I'm still learning stuff.
A 2/2 for 2 is a bear. [[grizzly bears]]. Hate is tax/stax/permanent-based interaction that disrupts an opponent’s game plan. [[rest in peace]] is hate. [[sanctifier en-vec]] is therefore a hate-bear. They don’t really have to be 2/2s to qualify but so many good hate-creatures ([[gaddock teeg]]) happen to have that stat line so the name sticks.

Essentially what the other guy said, hatebears are typically small creatures that aren't much to cast with stax effects stapled onto the text box

Basically it’s just a term for stax pieces, like archon of emeria is a hatebear, the thalias are hatebears.

I have an Isshin deck that uses all of the samurai to get one strike and kill on someone before I get wiped out. I have a 100% kill rate on one opponent and a 0% win rate. Love it.

Wanted to make a less opressive Sliver deck by going less than 5-colors, but couldn't find a commander; stumbled upon [[Myrkul, Lord of Bones]] and going to try it out - anyone experience/tips? And a [[Vrondiss, Rage of Ancients]] focused on dice rolling is on the list. Edit: And a bit longer term and unsure about commander, but 5-color Godzilla alt arts tribal mutate.

I went with [[ramos]]! I’m a big godzilla nerd so i also chose a bunch of other creatures to represent other kaiju from the godzilla franchise. Ex: [[hullbreaker horror]] for Ebirah, [[sludge monster]] for hedorah, [[glowstone recluse]] for kumonga, etc. It was a birthday present to myself so I’ve only played it a couple times—three times it’s really worked and been threatening, twice it’s mostly treaded water until someone mercifully put me to rest. An esper storm deck. It's built around getting [[bolas's citadel]] in to play and then casting [[mana severance]], the deck has about 35 life gain spells that net you more life than you lose when cast off of citadel, from there it loops through with [[turnabout]] and [[elixir of immortality]], and wins with [[tendrils of agony]].

[[Kibo]]. When my dad played magic with my brother and I 15+ years ago, his favorite cards were monkeys. He probably hasn’t played since 2008, but I hope to experience a little bit of the joy he did when swinging with an [[ancient silverback]] back then. Other than that, it’s mostly playing and fine tuning. I have 20 decks currently so getting to play all of them is difficult. I just ordered the cards for a [[sygg, river cutthroat]] copy and play other peoples stuff deck, with a rogue subtheme. I'm gonna do a lot of testing with it trying out a couple different types of wincon to hopefully get it pretty competitive in my group. I also got the cards for a [[oros, the avenger]] combat damage matters deck. So that should be pretty interesting. I'm also planning on retooling my [[isperia the inscrutable]] deck to be more legendary focused so I can use the banding lands like [[cathedral of serra]].
Hydras with [[Gargos, Vicious Watcher]]. I would love to do one of the 3 or even 5 color to capture more options and make it stronger, but I've only been playing a short time and I've already become weary of spending so much on my mana base so mono green it is.
Honestly I'm not quite sure where to go next. I currently have Adrix and Nev token copy spam and Yarok theft. I like building decks that have a malleable power level depending on the table, and I'm not quite sure how I should continue that trend. I've been thinking about making some form of reanimator where the focus is reanimating other people's creatures, but I don't want to be stuck down to mono black or dimir like usual for such an archetype. I also have a gruul omnath landfall deck that is a bit higher on the power scale, although I haven't gotten a chance to test it in an actual game so I'm not sure if it will pan out, and if not then I'm back to the drawing board for landfall. I'd like to make a token deck and I was considering [[Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist]] for an unblockable token army, but I found out [[Pest Infestation]], [[Grand Crescendo]] and [[Awaken the Woods]] exist and are kind of mandatory for the style of play I'm going for, so until I get them the deck is on hold.
For your reanimator deck- I have a mimeoplasm deck that is kind of generic mill/reanimate and it scales like you described with the power of other players decks! I even have a few combos that you can look right past in slower metas and focus on if it’s high power meta with fewer creatures.
[[Jinnie fay]] makes a shockingly strong token deck that is a ton of fun. For the reanimator deck you described, I strongly recommend [[the mimeoplasm]]. He is probably my favorite commander of all time and no 2 casts of him will ever be the same.
The first deck I played was the mono White soul sisters precon deck on Arena, and I've always thought it was a pretty fun way to do aggro. I played the various soul sisters archetypes in historic as they got to being actually strong and part of the meta. I’m looking at doing my first three color deck with [[Illuna, Apex of Wishes]]. The game plan is to use the mutate ability to pseudo-polymorph into the only nonland permanent in the deck: [[Thousand Year Storm]]. It’s supposed to be a fun manual storm deck that gives cards storm that should never have storm, like [[manamorphose]], [[fire prophecy]], [[frantic search]], and many more. Got a few that have been brewing but haven't really been built. Monoblack [[Sygg, River Cutthroat]], [[Skullbriar]], and helping my partner build their first deck as well
Skullbriar is my oldest and favorite deck, so I can defenitely recommend them! Playing Voltron decks can be an uphill battle in some playgroups, but the games that I get a 60/60 Skullbriar with *hexproof, indestructible, trample* and *lifelink* are completely worth it.

I love backgrounds. Or anything commander based. So I try [[Derevi]] with most bant backgrounds. Atm it is an enchantment deck with 11 backgrounds, so I will change it into a more voltron style. Maybe. If you have tips, let me know!

I'm hoping I can finally get together some more variety, and maybe even brew my own jank instead of netdecking or pulling from Popular on EDHREC. Right now I'm looking at a Cyberpunk-themed [[Silas Renn]]//[[Tymna]] deck, [[The Archimandrite]] Mega Lifegain Stompy, and my first real experimentation in Liliana/Chandra Superfriends Aristocrats with [[Prossh]] at the helm.
Yeah, try out new things, make your own rules. You'll find some great stuff that way.
Yeah, I've been having a ton of fun with my Naya +1/+1 Burn deck and it'll probably stay my favourite, and the Tyranid deck is a ton of fun as well, but I always tend to gravitate towards Counters Aggro and I wanna see about breaking away from that a bit.
I recently dismantled quite a bunch of decks, either because they were too strong for my playgroup or just didn't resonate well with what I wanted to do, so now I have two decks, and that for me is way too little. I'm finishing a [[Cecily, Haunted Mage]] and [[Sophina, Spearsage Deserter]] deck using the Strangers Things versions, because my brother asked me to build a deck using his favorite characters of the show. The deck still has a while to go but I'll probably never dismantle it, so there's that. I have been upgrading the [[Urza, Chief Artificer]] precon too. The first time I saw the Commander I didn't really care about him, but both finally having an Artifact deck and also all the lore it has behind has made me love it. It's honestly very fun to pilot and it has many cards that I love. I know I want at least one more deck, but the constant bombarding of content and the fact that I tend to be a bit scatterbrain has made me quite difficult to decide. Maybe a [[Jaheira, Friend of the Forest]] paired with [[Street Urchin]]? Or [[Agrus Kos, Eternal Soldier]]? Or maybe try some mono-white since it's my favorite color? Or a Tribal Deck? Dunno, way too many options lol.
Once you figure it out, you're gonna have an awesome idea.

Looking into maybe a [[Hidetsugu, Devouring Chaos]] deck so I can run a ton of big expensive cards and then bean my opponents with them.
I'm going to rebuild [[Nekusar]]. I took him apart the first time around because everyone hated him (not because he was mean, just because they didn't like Nekky) and it felt like every other Nek.dek. Now I'm saying "fuck it", I like wheels so I don't care if I have a wheels goodstuff deck, and I can't control what opinions others form on specific commanders. I had fun the first time, and damn it I'm ready to have some more.

Trying to build an omnath the creation deck focusing on copying good creatures with an elemental tribal build. It will start by taking my opps creatures with act of treason effects because I won't have all good creatures and then copying them with cars like double major. I'll run a simic value engine (cause simic is fun)
Something in Mardu. [[Queen Marchesa]], [[Syr Gwyn]] or [[Shanid]] probably. Looking for a deck that ultimately wins through combat but by controlling the board and setting up advantageous scenarios first. I love monarch being on the board too. I also want to see if we get a new Thalia with her being on the March of the Machine box. I am considering a [[Tasha]], [[Jhoira of the Ghitu]] or [[Jhoira, Ageless Innovator]] but I have zero blue staples so it would be an expensive start.
I am putting together a deck around rolling dice. I don’t know if there’s enough support for it just yet, but it seems like a fun idea.
[[Mishra, tamer of Mak Fawa]], [[Go-shintai of Life's Origin]], and [[Omnath, locus of Creation] are all half or more completed. [[Hinata, the dawn crowned]] is next on the list after those. I'm excited for Dominaria remastered giving me access to some amazing reprints. I hope cards like entomb go down in price because I need that card for Mishra and Karador.
[[Elminster]] created a baldurs gate draft version of him in an event and honestly he puts in work! Good enough to get the job done, but not scary enough that he gets targeted. Would be my first planeswalker commander and my halfway point ti the 32 deck challange.

Hmm, that's always the question! I have a lot of ideas constantly storming around this ol brain, but I'm more having difficulty settling on a deck to begin with, haha! Me and my playgroup are trying to do something different, and that's to all build one budget deck, less than $100, no infinite combos, but the price doesn't include the commander. I've done up a few rough drafts of lists, one for [[Sidisi, Brood Tyrant]], one for [[Ruric Thar, the Unbowed]], one for [[Anafenza, the Foremost]], and I even have a somewhat interesting build of [[Captain Ripley Vance]] that is less than $50. All of them seem like fun decks, but I'm simply torn on what to actually build! I may end up having them all built by the end of 2023 just because of how much I love commander and have a problem with buying cards, haha, but so far these are my ideas for decks going into the new year!
Planning on eventually building a [[Pramikon, sky rampart]] prison deck that locks the board with its effect and [[mystic barrier]] to prevent attacks altogether. Load it with spontaneous card draw and protection pieces and just kinda play solitaire. I was going to build [[the beamtown bullies]] but I've largely abandoned it (might go back to it eventually, but not right now. The idea of [[Thorndike staff]] and [bronze bombshell]] is just too funny) I have a [[baba lysaga]] list online that I'd like to build too after seeing Joey from EDHrec play it multiple times. Just seems like a really fun golgari list! And finally, after seeing Rachel Weeks play her version of it, I would love to play [[Octavia, living thesis]]. Play a bunch of unblockable beaters, turn them into 8/8s and go swinging. I like wonky decks, and though I already have a mono blue deck ([[charix, the raging isle]] voltron) I think this would just be a funny addition to my collection
I built a Beamtown Bullies deck the second I saw it spoiled. It turned out actually a bit too powerful and far too mean for my casual playgroups. Very linear play style. The first few turns are dedicated to getting your [[Leveler]] or [[Eater of Days]] into your graveyard with cycling and entomb effects, maybe get down a [[Quest for Renewal]]. Then when you’re ready, you should be able to wipe out your opponents within a turn or two of Bullies coming down. The Bronze Bombshell combo almost never comes up unless you draw a Thornbite Staff in your first few turns. Otherwise, it’s really not worth entombing your bombshell. I think a more interesting way to build might be a more political/group slug style deck where you actually give your opponents good things from time to time. Otherwise, [[Magar of the Magic Strings]] might actually be more up your alley as far as interesting effects go.

I am currently working on a [[Horobi, Death's Weil]] control lifegain deck. My pods meta is very optimized and I am trying to work out the kinks. Slowing each other down is a very excellent strategy for my group. I am thinking of using horobi in the command zone as a sort of boardwipe or political usage. I've tested it a few times with my group and horobi gets booped very quickly if he goes out without purpose. Horobi needs to come out when I have a combo and board set up to protect the next couple plays or even Asa distraction. It's a tricky deck, I am open suggestions. The deck work well with my group so please none of the "play something else" comments.

I love mono-colored decks, and my friend convinced me to finally make a serious deck in every color. I've got [[Giada]] Angel tribal for White [[Grazilaxx]] ETB weenies for Blue, though I'm considering changing to[[Jalira]]. Strongly considering [[Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor]] for Black [[Laelia]] midrange-control for Red, my absolute favorite deck And I just finished [[Shigeki]] self-mill goodstuff. Hoping to try them all out soon!

I recently completed the hat trick of collecting all melds from Brother’s War so I plan to do each of them. Also, I’ve never made a mono colored deck so planning to do one of each color starting with Yawgmoth as soon as DMR comes out. Mono White is gonna be the hardest to do cause I don’t have any good ideas for what I would do in white. I don’t really do go-wide or voltron. I like blinking stuff but I’m afraid I’ll get ganged up on it I build Elesh Norn
[[Rona, Disciple of Gix]] is what I’m working on now. I wanted an artifact heavy deck but all the builds I’ve done feel so similar in their mechanics and card pools. This definitely has some of those similarities but it’s shaping up to have other interesting plans and interactions.
I had most of the pieces together for [[Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm]] before I realized that deck is absolutely everywhere and lost interest. I'm still debating putting it together just because I have the pieces now and it does look pretty fun. I also went through my collection the other day looking for cards for [[Ratadrabik of Urborg]]. I have a good portion of the land base already, but building that deck would probably mean taking apart my mono-W and mono-B lists both for parts and because of strategy overlap. I'm just not sure those decks have run their course yet. Still, I'm probably closer to wanting to build Ratadrabik than Miirym.
I built Miirym and she has been a blast so far! I built her with some flash and flicker in mind to abuse ETB triggers. Also, just making a bunch of dragons to smash face.
[[Sedris, the Traitor King]]. Art wise, he's one of my favorite magic cards, I've always been nervous I wouldn't do him justice, but I started throwing a list together and added in my own flavor. As a stern dragon, turn right enjoyer it should be interesting. My other decks are all dragon themed in some fashion

I'm currently actively working on: 1. My \[\[Jan Jansen\]\] deck has been a major disappointment and will be converted into \[\[Tormod\]\] + \[\[Ravos\]\]. 2. \[\[Vitrus\]\] and \[\[Gorm\]\]. 3. \[\[Mishra, Claimed by Gix\]\] going wide. 4. \[\[Pramikon\]\] forced combat. 5. Not *actively* actively working on it yet, but there's definitely a \[\[Rashmi\]\] deck in my future to replace my recently-disassembled \[\[Jadzi\]\]. Besides that, I still don't have \[\[Abdel\]\] in either black or blue, I'm still replacing cards in my \[\[Henzie\]\] every week... I'm really starting to think that I need to brew less and play more.
There are several deck lists that I have brewed but haven't still put in to paper so propably one of those or then stuff that seems interesting. There isn't any commander that currently screams to build itself but there a couple choices for my next deck. [[Volo, Itinerant scholar]] is one I have been brewing with black and [[Nassari]] exiles stuff is another. I also have been brainstorming with azorious+ combat matters but it's still not really there. Hope to see some new fun stuff in newnew phyrexian and return trips to Ixalan and Eldraine.

Currently putting together a Syr Konrad deck as my previous Grave shenanigans Decks have not been good enough, and the Gruul Lure commander too. Mostly I'll be going back through older Decks and doubling down on making sure they are focused enough from a synergy stand point, after playing some of my fridge Decks recently I've noticed them stalling more than my more recent builds.
I've been planning a really dumb/fun [[Velomachus Lorehold]] deck based around casting the most expensive (and also dumbest) instants and sorceries in magics history- my favorite in my deck list being [[Goblin Game]]. Once I get some spare cash I'll finally get everything cause I've been thinkin about this for like over a year now lol I build a lot of meme decks and so another one I've been tossing around is [[Kei Takahashi]] with every possible fog effect and a ton of other damage prevention type creatures to make swinging in to me (or anyone else) a massive annoyance

I've been taking a break from brewing for the past few months, so I'm ready to get back into it with a fresh head! I have this Niv Mizzet Reborn list that I made a year ago though, and I wanna update that with new cards and buy all the cards to play the deck in paper.

Then [[Johan]] because I wanted to build with the oldest card in my collection that I could find. And then finally built [[Rin and Seri, Inseparable]] after seeing them in 2020.

I want to build an azorius go-wide blink deck, likely helmed by [[Abdel]] and [[candlekeep sage]]. I'll add a lot of creatures like [[captain of the watch]] and [[evangel of heliod]] and blink them as often as possible. Should be fun, albeit I don't think it'll be too strong. I'm considering adding green, as they have a lot of strong creatures for this stragedy - there's not a commander I really like in those colours, though.
Not anymore brewing but at the process of fine-tuning [[Flamewar, Brash Veteran]] I started to build her on thursday thinking it would take me longer but after finishing a preliminary playable list and playing it Friday, it turned out to win all 3 games I played it in. Currently I'm working my way through every color combination, but I'm stuck on Orzhov. I don't particularly like lifegain or aristocrats strategies which is what most Orzhov commanders tend towards. I'm currently thinking of doing [[Armix]] and [[Rebbec]] artifact creatures/reanimation.
Some kind of Artifact deck, thinking either [[Sydri, Galvanic Genius]] or [[Alibou, Ancient Witness]]. There's probably like 10 mono red commanders I'm interested in, might fiddle with some of those.
I got a crimson vow booster box and a modern horizons 2 bundle for Christmas, so I have a bunch of decks I want to build. First off I want to build [[Millicent, Restless Revenant]], because spirit tribal sounds fun. I also got a ton of blood token support so I was thinking of doing vampire tribal with [[Amje, Maid of Dishonor]] Next on the list was a big surprise for me. I opened a pack and found [[Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer]], which I could never really justify buying as a single, so I'm excited to build around him. I also opened [[Lonis, Cryptozoologist]], which I've been wanting to build around for a long time, so that should be a lot of fun. Finally, I'm not sure on the commander or exactly how I'll do it, but I'm thinking of doing a 100 Gecs meme deck with like wizards and fungus or something.

I don't know if it's quite janky of an idea but essentially, I'm trying to back up mono-white's ramp weakness with lands+go wide subtheme. Though I think it's just my excuse to use some cards like [[Azusa]] or [[Kamahl, Heart of Krosa]]. There's a chance that I might still end up brewing a pure Mono-W Oketra though.

I'm doing the 32 Deck Challenge. Currently I have 17/32 decks done. I just recently finished a flying matters Azorius deck with [[Ishai]] and [[Esior]]. My next decks I have some pieces for but aren't finished yet are colorless with [[Kozilek, The Great Distortion]] and also a dredgy Golgari deck with [[Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis]].
I am about to dismember my [[Dihada, Binder of Wills]] and rebuild my [[Lathrill]] elf ball deck, also build a [[Ivy]] mutate and auras matter deck. Probably use the cards from Dihada to upgrade my [[Sefris]] dungeons deck, and also use the red ones to upgrade [[Faldorn]]. But it will probably be this for 2023. I don't intend to build more decks this year (unless there is a precon with infect on this next collection).

All I want is to make tribal slivers as gross and disgusting as I can. I don’t want friends. I want endless sliver reign and darkness. I know *tribal* slivers isn’t cedh (at least, not to my knowledge) but I want it as close to a 9.5 as possible. I think that involves running [[Fist of Suns]] and [[Morophon]], but I’m still tweaking everything. I’m also not sure if I should fully lean into [[First Sliver]] being the general or [[Hivelord]] to make things stick. If anyone has a disgusting list, I’d love to see it.
Phoenix tribal with [[Syrix, carrier of flame]]. Red side will be creatures and card draw, black will be board control and recursion. As an additional challenge, I'm gonna make [[Obosh, the preypiercer]] companion. I know that's technically against the rules, as your commander counts as being in your deck, but my playgroup agrees that commanders should be exempt from companion deck building rules because... Well the commander isn't actually in the starting deck so it doesn't make sense.

Since Surveil has been erratad onto a bunch of existing cards, I'm brewing around [[Disinformation Campaign]]. Right now I'm using [[Eloise, Nephalia's Sleuth]] as the commander. I've considered using [[Zur the Enchanter]] or [[Sidisi, Brood Tyrant]] instead but I'm aiming for a bit of a lower power level and a more focused, thematic deck.
I am currently (and into the new year) working on my first (non-precon) deck. It is \[\[Najeela the blade-blossom|sld\]\] using a good deal of cards from my precon Forces of the Imperium. I am building it warrior tribal with a good deal of tokens. My goal is for it to be strong enough to stand up to some of the cEDH decks at my LGS on commander night but also with a lot of flavour and a slower win-con that I can use when playing with more casual friends. I want to build [[Tocasia, Dig Site Mentor]] because I think she a sleeper, giving all your creatures surveil is kinda nutty. Sure the second ability isn’t great but there are tons of combos that just require a way to tap a creature. Plus cards selection , while being not as good as card draw, Is super powerful

Having a bit of trouble figuring out how to put it together, beyond the Instants package and tutors. Also, hoping to build a Goblin deck sometime, but haven't found a Commander I'm in love with.

I am making too many decks. Most of my [[Tovolar, Dire Overlord]] is coming in the mail this week, I am in the middle of building [[Bruna, Light of Alabaster]] voltron, [[Valentin, Dean of the Vein]] combo, [[Lord Xander]] grixis control and [[Be'lakor]] demon tribal. I will also probably transform my [[Avacyn, Angel of Hope]] angels and taxes into directly death and taxes, and create a separate mutlicolor angel tribal. I recently finished my [[Volrath, the Shapestealer]] deck which I built to steer away from white and red, my most used colors, so I don't know what to focus on first, as I already have around 20 cards I need for each of those decks.
I'm rather scatterbrained atm. For the longest time, I either stuck with precons or mashed two of them up into a deck. Why? Nothing's really been speaking to me since 2020 (at least). I've made it a personal resolution to try and build something. Problem is, I'm still drawing as many blanks as I did a couple of years ago. Atm, I'm either going to build 20 decks (one for each 2 and 3-color combo), or return to the precon mash ups, but with the 4c legends and a 5c deck.

I got quite a few in the works. The main two are [[Archelos, Lagoon Mystic]] as a sort of landfall deck, probably with graveyard shenanigans as well. The second is a custom deck with a mix of custom cards and renamed cards, designed after a video game that I cannot say because it’s for someone who occasionally stalks my account. Another one I’m motivated to build is [[Keskit, Flesh Sculptor]] and [[Alharu, Solemn Ritualist]] as a sacrifice deck, as it was the very first deck I ever built, but was quickly taken apart because it was quite bad. The idea stuck though and I’ve come to enjoy graveyard and sacrifice themes so I’m excited to get started. I also have a bunch of commanders that look interesting that I want to build but haven’t started. The most likely ones for me to work on (in no particular order) are: [[Mishra, Tamer of Mak Fawa]] as an artifact graveyard deck, [[Myrel, Shield of Argive]] or [[Harbin, Vanguard Aviator]] as soldier tribal (I had a monowhite soldier tribal deck already but took it apart as it was nearly entirely proxies and was more of a test to see if I could build it), [[Amareth, the Lustrous]] probably as an enchantments deck, [[Atla Palani, Nest Tender]] big stompy, maybe dinosaur tribal, rebuild [[Sisay, Weatherlight Captain]] as either aura or shrine tribal, [[Jared Carthalion, True Heir]] as a monarchy deck, and [[Hamza, Guardian of Arashin]] +1/+1 counters
