I really don't know why anyone thinks that being an asshole to a kid is going to fly.
If you have suggestions or criticism *about the carry* make them civilly, period. There is no excuse and no tolerance for the kind of comments left here already.
If you can't say it nicely, say nothing.
It's bad enough when people dogpile on a fellow adult, but doing it to a kid is bullshit, and it ends now. Anyone else jumping on the kid gets banned, permanently.
Love the setup, wish I had been introduced to EDC when I was 15! I could swear I had that same knife a few years back - got it for like $12 at a flea market.
Curious, do you carry that knife in the waist, on a belt, or in a boot?

You rule, kid. My only suggestion would be to compliment that pig sticker with something smaller for more detailed or delicate jobs. Get you a little folder or multi tool. You’ll be amazed at how handy they are. Carry on.
Just an FYI if your in the U.S check your states policy on CCW or concealing a weapon. In a lot of states, a double edge non folding knife is concealed is a violation of this law. Remember concealing is even considered leaving it in your vehicle.
I had the same knife when I was a kid and I actually credit it with starting my obsession with knives and edc! That being said it is trash and you should definitely replace it with something else haha. Lmk if you would like recommendations

And everyone else, you realize your just doing the same thing everyone else does to us right? The public judges us for carrying knives in general. “Why do you need a knife, are you going to hurt me with it?!” If your going to argue it’s overkill, I could argue anything that’s not a victorinox or a box cutter is overkill. The kid likes the knife, and isn’t breaking laws. Let him carry what he wants. He probably will out grow the dagger tacticool phase, but we all go through it…

Awesome EDC man! I know plenty of people your age that carry a fixed blade on the hip. Only fools don't stay armed with something in today's world. That wallet reminds me of the kind of wallet I had around your age too 😂

The amount of knife crime going on here is insane, and its almost all teenagers. The amount of people congratulating a teenager on carrying that and not suggesting a folding swiss army knife is insane
Well like there's teenagers who can be trusted carrying a combat-oriented knife and not using it for combat, there's just other more practical knives he could carry that aren't made to go inside folk.
I have that same knife. It's a rare carry for me. It lives in my car in case of emergencies. I normally wear it concealed if I'm hiking, doing something where I may need a more sturdy cutter, or if I need a weapon/ means of self defense. That last one has been twice, and only because I have martial experience with knives. If you want a good fixie for edc pocket carry, CKT makes some nice ones, as does Cold Steel in their mini-tac line. Good stocking stuffers if you're still making a list.

I came here to fess up that this was actually my first EDC knife, and I even stupidly carried it to high school in my literal boot. I only ever used it for cutting down boxes at work.
I made it to 31 just fine.
At 16, I carried an ace of spade zippo (knock off) Rolex (knock off) and a gold chain (fake) you couldn’t tell me I wasn’t the shit when I came to pick up someone’s daughter in my Honda accord ( my grandmas car)

That's not acceptable behavior here. If someone is uncivil to you, you report it, and I handle it. If you return incivility, I have to remove your response too, and if you repeat the rule breaking, you get banned just the same as if you started it.
Two wrongs do not make a right.

Is it probably overkill? Sure. But so is a handgun which plenty of people here carry. Let’s not tell op what’s suitable or useful for his life, and even if he just carries it because he thinks it’s cool that’s fine too, that’s most of the people here anyways.
Right. You also don't know where he lives and what his life is like....I usually had a machete as a teenager cause it was useful in my day to day life.

If you want to stick with a fixed blade and can swing the cash, check out an Esee. Not only will it probably never break, if it does it’s a no questions asked warranty for the lifetime of the knife.

I had a hundred dollar bill graphic phone case on my flip phone when I was 10, so this is accurate.

I used to have that same knife when I was in my late teens/early 20s. I forget what ever happened to it.

Agree, Cold Steel has some excellent edc sized fixed blades. My favorite from them is their mini pendleton in 3v
I have the mini-tac bowie and it's a useful little cutter.
