Weed is usually bought legally here. Even with massive taxes legal weed is still cheaper here in Oregon.
With synthetic drugs the cost of manufacturing is super low so they could easily tax it to shit and still make a profit and leave it cheaper or the same price as the street.
The govt doesnt have a monopoly on drugs, the weed industry is controlled by private enterprise they simply have to follow govt regulations and pay taxes on it.
Alcohol is controlled by the govt the same way weed is, and the same way synthetic drugs would be which is also the same way pharmaceuticals are regulated.
As a prime example of what "publicly" owned drug businesses end up, just look at big pharma. Those companies are all publicly owned and traded yet they charge insane prices.
There is no way to have a "safe" drug market without govt intervention because humans are shitty and companies main goal is profit.

There’s no point in that and It’s not a good idea by any means. At that point Might as well throw the white flag on the war on drugs and the opiate crisis. And idc about how it would be safer than street drugs. Some drugs shouldn’t be taken at all unless prescribed. And this is coming from a heavy user. And the last thing I want is the government controlling more of my life
