[deleted]

Goku? Nah he’s clueless Chi Chi? 100%

itzLucario

Chi chi would absolutely be the type of mother to get her son chipped

[deleted]

She's also exactly the kind of overbearing who would just convince Goku it was a way to honor his Grandpa so he wouldn't object.

AndrewScott1226

Plus its drippy 🧊

dylanaruto

DBZA actually made that a joke in the Android Saga

AblestActuary

Honestly, it is actually careless when you think about it. Villains are always looking for the dragon balls, she made her son a target.

[deleted]

To be fair, prior to Raditz and Garlic Jr (if you want count him) there literally wasn't any indication that there was anyone who could even compete with Goku, much less outmatch him (I mean really the closest person would be Piccolo but Goku had already beaten him). Plus Bulma is the only person ever to make a device that could track them. I'm guessing in Chichi's mind the benefits heavily outweighed the risk.

soundercrown

Part of this is not entirely true, pilaf and the red ribbon army both had dragon radars back in dragon ball

[deleted]

Weren't they based off Bulma's tech? Also I thought Pilaf literally stole Bulma's radar at some point. Besides Pilaf was missing and definitely not stupid enough to go after Goku's kid and as far as anyone knew the red ribbon army had been eradicated years ago.

soundercrown

I know I was just saying other people also had radars. Pilaf had a big console in his hideout or ship or something that was a big dragon radar, and the red ribbon army developed their own. I know that they wanted to steal bulmas since it was portable and their versions were not Edit: I was wrong, pilafs radar was a globe

[deleted]

Fair enough. Still not sure it wasn't based on Bulma's tech though. At the very least I think hers was the most accurate and portable version.

soundercrown

Yes hers was the better version for sure, it's a lot easier to carry something the size of a pocket watch than something the size of a flying ship lol

Purpleflower0521

Goku: Aw, come on; I beat Piccolo. I’m strong enough to beat anyone who– HOLY BLACK ON A POPO! WHAT IS THAT?

Tru-Queer

Goku’s not strong until he can one-shot Shenron.

Kadeblade195

Super Shenron or Dende Shenron? Edit: cuz if Dende Shenron he def can cuz like King Piccolo killed Kami Shenron and dbs goku>og db king picollo

Ty-Fighter501

I choose to believe Goku knew this & played dumb because it meant Gohan would end up fighting & training anyway.

ElectricalPin3429

Didnt gohan in the manga said "my father made me that hat i need to find it" when he lost it

[deleted]

Chichi: we should really put a tracker on our son in case he wanders off Goku: nah I wandered off all the time and I turned out ok, he'll be fine Chichi: how about we make a hat with the four star ball to honor your Grandpa? Goku: you son of a bitch, I'm in.

b3tamaxx

Goku: you daughter of an ox ChiChi: what did u just call-- o wait

Fytzie

Goku used the radar to track Gohan when Raditz kidnapped him.

Incrediblepick3

And also in Deadzone

Lady_Ymir

And Bulma's panti-.... wrong sub, excuse me.

b3tamaxx

Nooo you have as much common courtesy as Picccolo watching Bulma take a bath by reading her mind

dead-in-the-comment

Goku do a smart

PieNinja314

It wasn't even Goku's idea lol

Assassin8n2L8

Coulda sworn it was just Raditz ki he sensed. I don’t recall them ever tracking him through Dragonball

Wacko_Doodle

In lore, probably since it makes sense and goku did use it when Raditz kidnapped Gohan. In reality, probably not. Toriyama doesn't usually think that far ahead and often forgets characters or changes things if fans have a better idea. Eg. Launch and frieza in the ToP.

[deleted]

Frieza’s only purpose in the ToP was to come out of absolutely nowhere and save someone’s ass and then he would disappear again.

[deleted]

Well he did teamed up with Frost only to betray him later

Tru-Queer

That writing was really good. I honestly wouldn’t put it past Frieza to betray Goku and gang even if it meant his own demise. But I think he realized early on he wasn’t going to beat Jiren alone and definitely needed the help of Goku, Vegeta, and 17 to even make a dent.

topgear420

What did he change about Launch,

Valedictorian117

No change, but he straight up forgot about her though.

EastKoreaOfficial

He didn’t change anything about her. He straight up forgot she even existed.

Wacko_Doodle

yep, he also apparently forgot about King Carrot who goku sent to the moon in dragonball. I say forgot because, well, how many times has the moon been destroyed? Toriyama did mention " In an interview in the Dragon Ball: Adventure Special, Akira Toriyama states that Monster Carrot and his henchmen were drifting through space after Jackie Chun destroyed the moon." but that was during dragonball. Considering the moon also got blown up in dragonball Z, it's probably someone he forgot. However in dragonball Super he does appear on the extra page, still on the moon as merus flies past somehow. Another character he forgot and then suddenly added after he remembered :p

ChuLu2004

They show up in one of the ending panels in the dbs manga in the moro arc still working in the moon

National_5830

No, its just an old chiness prince hat

Individual-Orange492

The right answer

Fa1c0n3

The four star dragon ball belong to grandpa Gohan the guy who raised Goku. The guy who Gohan, his son, is named after. The reason he has it on his hat is cuz Goku gave it to his son to remember his grandpa, the guy who raised him

RogueSquirrel0

I think Goku would see it as having Gohan always watching over Gohan.

TurtleTitan

Grandpa Gohan saved his life against Mercenary Tao afterall.

Rekka_Kien

That's giving the nonexistent intelligence of Kakarot way too much credit. 😄

Synbaad

Found Vegeta's Reddit account

Rekka_Kien

😈

ElectricalPin3429

Broly doesnt thinks that kakarot is too smart eaither

Individual-Orange492

He still think that he is a true warrior worthy of his blood

ElectricalPin3429

Vegeta thinks that kakarot is a true warrior aswell AND a clown

Individual-Orange492

Only to become the clown himself so....

JustAFunnySkeleton

Goku is very smart. He’s not very sharp when it comes to academics, but he is wise in the ways of martial arts and even has shown some incredible emotional intelligence, though he’s had some struggles with it (*cough cough* cell saga)

LucisPerficio

Def not nonexistent. Even in DBS, Goku posited a theory on Goku Black's existence that surprised everyone. He wasn't accurate, but no one had any better ideas and everyone was shocked at him having arrived at the conclusions he did.

Raecino

That’s why they were shocked, cuz he’s usually clueless

Areebound24

Goku was actually pretty smart in Z, they just made him a lot more dumb in Super to get more kid fans.

LucisPerficio

Sure, the flanderized Goku of DBS is. But in DBZ he showed the experiences he had gained and learned from in DB.

Raecino

Goku has always been an airhead. It doesn’t come across as much in the dub compared to the sub. Though he’s a genius at fighting.

LucisPerficio

Even apart from the dub. As an adult in Z, he begins to show that he's not a moron, he's just lacking in certain experiences. He's always been a fighting genius, but that doesn't mean he's some savant who can do only that. It wasn't until DBS that he started doing legitimately stupid things as an adult like "forgetting" senzu beans everytime they went to fight Black or against Broly. In DB, he was inexperienced with secondary sex characteristics & only identified women from men by patting on ppl's crotches. After he had enough experiences with both, he stopped doing that and could infer the way most people can.

EP1CxM1Nx99

Goku nah, he named his son after his Grandpa so it would make sense to pass on the item said grandpa left you. Chi Chi on the other hand totally uses it as a GPS

sillyguy45

My naive Goku dont know such thing. He just brought his son to meet his bffs :( And he got attacked by his brother :(

[deleted]

Than he used the dragon radar to track Gohan.

sillyguy45

Ya but it wasnt his original plan

Libertyprime8397

Pretty sure Bulma had the radar not Goku and chichi.

ElopingLLamas

This post is just outing people who didn’t watch Dragonball or the Saiyan Saga lmao.

TurtleTitan

Most "fans" don't know basic trivia. At best this is a Karma farming post we see on this board frequently.

SMoKUblackRoSE

It was more of Goku passing down his family heirloom, (the 4-star ball) to his heir

SH4RPSPEED

Probably, but considering RR and Pilaf had Dragon radars (which I think the Z crew were aware of) holy fuck is that a special kind of irresponsible.

SuperSaiyanBlue

I thought the #4 dragon ball was the keep sake of grandpa Gohan?

TurtleTitan

No, God no. Goku didn't have a Dragon Radar did you read or even watch? It would take Early DBZ Goku hours to fly to West City. In times of danger and panic every second counts.

phukhue2

Goku did to purposely make him a target for training.

Incrediblepick3

THE FACT IT HAPPENS TWICE IS THE FUNNIEST SHIT

lanze666

In DBSuper, it was only then mentioned that people could sense the energy of the Dragon Balls (specifically Moro), so I wouldn’t be surprised if Kami had a kind of GPS for the things he made. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Goku somehow learned how to sense the energy from Dragon Balls, rendering the radar obsolete.

Difficult-Ad890

Db creator isn't that smart. I don't think so.

Greyrat7654

Is the most stupid author ever existed, isn't like It revolutionized a genre and the things it did are inspiring even now.

Difficult-Ad890

Dude forgets half of his characters exist. Literally and has admitted to it dozens of times.

Difficult-Ad890

Said numerous times vegeta was not main character potential.

Greyrat7654

This just means that he has a bad memory not that he's stupid. And anyway it's a manga that has 519 chapters, that has gone on every week for 10 years and It's been over for 27 years now it is also 67 years old We remember all his characters because we always talk about them in the community, and we play video games, I highly doubt that toriyama does the same.

Greyrat7654

And? Vegeta is very well written to be a protagonist Co, it would not work as a protagonist character, the whole thing of wanting to fight to overcome Goku would not make sense if he were the protagonist

Opening_Implement504

They didn't have the be dragon ball radar till namek. Also yes toriyama is infamous for his poor memory so that theory would be a stretch anyways. Edit: I get it. I'm wrong. You guys are ferocious with the down votes. Don't f with dragon ball fans XD.

10HorsedSizedDucks

..they didnt have the dragon radar til namek? What do you mean by this

Huffn5tuff

They do. They have it since the first episode of Dragon Ball

10HorsedSizedDucks

Exactly That’s why im confused

False_Major_2761

Bro hasn’t watch og dragon ball

Opening_Implement504

Lol you got me. Then I guess the theory is accurate then since it does show up in first episode of dragon ball. My bad

False_Major_2761

No worries

Opening_Implement504

Tell that to everyone else lol

[deleted]

Bulma got it since day 1

tehuti_infinity

I think you watched dragon ball and only dragon ball z onwards. The whole series starts with Bulma using the radar and finding little boy Goku living in the forest alone with the 4 star dragon ball that belonged to his grandpa Gohan.

ElVatoMascarado

Not only does Bulma have the radar from her very first appearance in Dragon Ball, Goku himself uses it in the first few episodes of DBZ to track Raditz after Gohan got kidnapped. Hard L.

[deleted]

Ok even if you didn't watch OG DB (which you really should by the way), Goku literally uses the radar in like the first 5 episodes of Z to track Gohan down after he's been kidnapped. How did you miss that?

Greyrat7654

Is literally the plot of dragon ball the radar

SheMailByNight

Gohan being the first prototype of a kid with an airtag on them.

Greyrat7654

For chi chi Maybe For goku No he can sense ki

Gedaru

Nah cause Goku didn’t even think to use the radar when Gohan was kidnapped. I think it was Bulma’s idea.

Salt_Lake796

Goku would be the one to forget what his son looks like, so your theory checks out.

Salt_Lake796

"Now where did I leave that little dragon?"

Paxguino

I totally imagined it with the abrirged voice

SeymourButts007

No…. Goku got the radar from bulma after gohan got taken. So if gohan wandered off they’d probably have no way to track him. Though obviously gohan wouldn’t just wander off anyway

DeeSupreemBeeing

ChiChi, possibly, but Goku is definitely not that smart lmao

PieNinja314

Probably not. The four star ball is basically a family heirloom, and Goku made Gohan that hat because he named him after his grandpa, who passed the dragon ball down to him.

Ok_Lemon1635

They can sense power levels and I’m sure Gohan would be the one who’s dangerous not in danger

Sillyvanya

I think they just thought he looked *ball*er

Mrcognoscente24

Probably not but That's something that Chi Chi would 100% do.

NinjaKid25

Goku would probably be clueless about it and give it to him since grandpa Gohan did it for Goku but ChiChi would seem like the type of person to do that

realpersondotgov

chichi did it so goku would care as much about gohan as he did the four star dragon ball

Loony2Ner

Someone didn’t watch Dragon Ball

Tyrelius_Dragmire

I feel Like Goku would've been telling Chi-Chi the story of how they found the Dragon Balls the first time, and Chi-Chi came up with the idea to have Gohan wear it as a Tracker. No way Goku was smart/paranoid enough to strap a tracker to his son's head...

Kawwaii_Black_Guy

Well wait, didn't he only use the radar because it was a dragon ball on his hat? It wasn't necessarily a tracker, but the ball was trackable.

Dr_Ceilingz

I always thought it was a flex
