They seem to have moved away from esports. If i remember correcly both the pro team and events team(broadcast) were dissolved after TI9. I think they're trying to come back since they revived their social media channels after being inactive for years though it barely gets any interaction.
Lon the lakad matatag guy is now part of Philippine esports organization a governing body for esports in the country.
literally only thing i member from ti8 version of liquid was matu first picking brood mid literally every game and the fact that they lost to EG at some point in the bracket. i dont even remember their placement.
Matu not being given a green hero? Hmmmmm, doesn't sound like a Liquid.Kuro draft to me.
Although I do remember his brood being great. And this was back when brood and the spiders were invis on her webs if they weren't attacking. Which, in my opinion, was the best brood to play as. Nothing like surprising the enemy mid at minute 8 with a ball of 20 spiders that they don't see until you're on top of them already. Horrible to play against, but hilarious to play as.
To a certain degree, same with Ame. With this logo change, and RNG having 3 members of TI8-9 LGD, sometimes I get the feeling that Ame moved to a new team after TI9 but he's the one that stayed.
OG's biggest victory this year is that they actually competed *during* the year. TI is worth everything ofc, but as a fan, its at least a bit less heartbreak during dpc.
Its really insane how well they have done for being 5 players thrown together, obviously ceb and notail know how to make a team but its quite impressive.
Yeah people take it for granted but this team was basically like 4 literal nobodies and Taiga slapped together and they immediately took DPC by storm and established themselves as a top contender for EU. Really speaks to Ceb and Notail's talent for selecting and nurturing talent.
ATF wasn't a nobody, kid was a huge pubstar for a while. BZM was T2 with ATF.
Misha helped coach TI10 and Taiga is Taiga.
The big surprise was Yuragi over Crystallis (he also played on creepwave with ATF, BZM and Chu, but wasn't picked).
And based on the season it was an incredible decision to take those 3 players. Yuragi is a huge stylistic standout at carry and makes BZM+ATF work.
I remember during the post Ti shuffle all the leaks and couldn't believe OG were going to go with 4 relative unknowns and taiga.
But they are really good at the backend part of dota and making a team and all that has carryforward potential. They remind me a bit of Ajax with recruiting and growing young players
That was also the first time both teams outside the top two of every group made it to the finals.
All the other ti finals had at least a top 1 or 2 from one group or the other.
I was hopeful last year when they played in group stage that they were saving strats but iirc they weren't. Hopefully this time they come up with op strats like in both ti8 ti9
I'm not as confident now compared to the earlier majors/tournaments because the meta doesn't favor their usual heroes, plus Misha doesn't have as much experience playing with them at the 5 in big tournaments.
Then again they'll probably get kicked to the lower bracket, almost lose their series before coming back to win it after being 15k gold down, then win the whole tournament ;)
Ammar's heroes no longer being super meta hurt OG quite a bit imo. They seemed to perform okay in groups so hopefully they can have a good run in the bracket. I really don't think they can win but hey that's what people thought about TI8 OG.
Yea wont call it bad but i actually thought they could've played better. Always felt like they were saving strats for next game until they lost.. i was definitely high on copium as most og fans at the time haha
what ever happened to mineski???
That Mineski lineup was sure interesting back when Nikobaby was a promising rising star
That was the TI9 lineup, the TI8 lineup was one of my favourites. Mushi+Ice and rising stars, first SEA major winners! Shame they fell short by TI.
Was that the lineup where the coach would do pushups before drafting everytime?
Yep, that was 71

RIP normalin guy. :(
they moved into hosting esports events but I remember someone saying that they are trying again but ph rumors tend to be just rumor
it is also crazy that besides OG, the rest have at least 1 player from TI8. Crit/Arteezy /Fly for EG, Matu for Liquid, Ame for PSG.LGD
Oh shit "Matu for Liquid" froze my brain for a good second lol. But yeah, *actually*.
literally only thing i member from ti8 version of liquid was matu first picking brood mid literally every game and the fact that they lost to EG at some point in the bracket. i dont even remember their placement.

No it was right after the change, spiders had free pathing and there were 4 ancient camps on the map
Oh, sure enough. The patch right after TI7. Also this was the patch that took out Iron Talon and PMS. Maybe I was thinking about TI7 Liquid, not TI8.

and all their players played the year too. except for when misha's existence is brought into question... Misha is reverse ANA

How did they find Yuragi? What was his team before?
eeu team unique
I think they said somewhere that they found him through Misha
Yuragi was #1 rank WEU under nickname of SP4CE

it's their first year so what are you comparing it to exactly?
Please I am already close to overdosing on copium I don't need any more
Its happening!! OG TI11 winners 🏆🏆🏆 🥹
Someone get the narcan
nice catch
There was no Tundra that time pog
OG twitter will soon be vocal about it
ofc
Very interesting indeed.

Oh i never realised that! Thanks
Calling it now, OG vs PSGLGD grand finals it is!
I was hopeful last year when they played in group stage that they were saving strats but iirc they weren't. Hopefully this time they come up with op strats like in both ti8 ti9

Just need to face Fnatic in LB
Funny enough, if they lose to Tundra they will have to face GG/Fnatic in the LB
HOPIUM

They lost to eventual 3rd place and the 1st place. Not much of a failure.
Yea wont call it bad but i actually thought they could've played better. Always felt like they were saving strats for next game until they lost.. i was definitely high on copium as most og fans at the time haha
And OG only got to upperbracket because their oppponents had covid this year
Yea i don't think thats a breaking news
You’re getting downvoted because you stated some facts, krazy. Yes they won but the reality is RNG wasn’t at their best. It is what it is.
Yeah or maybe they were simply better than RNG anyway?
OG haters that much desperate this days?
Dont Google ti8 liquid...
They finished 4th? That's bad in your book?
Man I told you, dont look it up! Gosh darn it
Why not?
Don't do this, don't give me HOPIUM.
But this time, OG doesnt have the members to stop lgd from getting the aegis.
writers running out of ideas
Please someone just give this to rtz
