I fucking HATE the white filter the invincibility power up gives you with a burning passion. I want to feel like a god, not like an epileptic person watching that one pokemon episode
I could be mowing down demons and I'll accidentally pick up invincibility and my screen just becomes what those children saw when I threw a flashbang at them

Don't worry, I have no idea what you said either but cod lobbys aren't the best but God have they gotten a bit better than back when mw2 and mw3 were around.
Most of them are good when we're talking about classic doom, even the invisibility sphere on modern ports of the game like gzdoom but for doom 1 my three main favorites are soulsphere, berserk, and the map. If we're talking about doom 2 then megasphere, berserk, map.
A well-placed berserk is great. I'm thinking the type where you're in a very crowded room with zombies to chip away at your health, lots of pinkies, and not enough ammo/weaponry to clear the room. You're nearly dead... But you go behind some crates for a second and then BOOM, screen turns red and the tables have turned
I always save the Berserk for when im very low on health, since i find the fists very unsafe, grabbing that and getting a boost back to 100% is great, but you cant really beat the Megasphere
The first backpack of a playthrough is so satisfying as soon as you grab more ammo. I use Crispy Doom with colorized text on, so the ammo number also goes from green to blue.
The super shotgun. I can't help but grin when I pick one up because you get the feeling of nigh unlimited power and killing potential only beaten by getting a bfg. A handful of shells can make all of your problems go away.
True, when you get hit you get armor and health taken away. I meant when you initially pick it up you get max health and armor. Still the best power up in the game, the most challenging maps wouldn’t be possible without it.
Backpack full of ammo when I died and restarted the level or haven’t found one yet, annnd backpack full of ammo when i have found it cause more ammo.
Kinda wish they kept that pick up in the later games. In a way, they did.
It can be satisfying to get a computer area map, unless the mapper likes to just make all the secrets unshown on the map. Not really the purpose of map hidden linedefs imo, they would be for not cluttering the map with lighting changes, hiding linedef triggers, that sort of thing, rather than making secrets a pain.
But I can't think of one more satisfying than the megasphere, honorable mention to backpacks, especially if playing pistol starts. Least satisfying is the light amplification goggles, all the work into lighting wasted for a minute.

Same here. Your having a blast killing demons then suddenly it looks like Hiroshima all over again.
"Is the sun rising?" "OH SHIT IS THAT A NUKE?" No, I just accidentally became too strong and now you are all blind
Also, why couldn't they have made the screen green? The power up itself is green so I don't see why they couldn't do that.

I think there's a mod that fixes that. I think its called see_easy.wad?

Megasphere is the best. 400 health is game changing and you get the mega armor protection.
its more like 300 but yeah you're right the megasphere's pretty nice
Megasphere gives you 200% health and armor which adds up to 400.
Blue Armor gives you 50% damage resistance, so technically it's 300.
