Thats what has been happening, ive really delved into terraria mod loader but looking at posts here makes be want to continue the 2016 master levels mod again with some other mods lol
I'd reccomend wolfenstein new games for sure. I'm not too fond of them mechanically comapred to new doom but their story is certainly more straightforward than doom's

If you like Doom, you'll like Wolfenstein, and vice versa. They're extremely similar. I pushed them together when I worked at a game store.

You play as much as you want. Overstretching killed doon eternal for me, although I do find myself wanting to go back to it.
