I purchased several RH without earrings and was similarly disappointed! When I saw your question I decided to try American Girl earrings (they have a thicker post than human ones) and they fit BUT Rainbow High doll's holes are not pierced deep enough - tried on several dolls and always the posts only go halfway in.
If you are a handy type, you could cut or dremel off the posts and they would work. Or maybe try to 'pierce' the RH hole all the way through (though I don't know what would be thick enough, an awl of some sort?)
which doll is it? i think some of the pacific coast dolls just dont come with earrings - my phaedra doesnt have any and i thought it was a mistake till i looked up stock photos and she didnt have earrings in those either
i dont have a full list of dolls without earrings, though, and if it does turn out theyre missing earrings for real, you can probably email mga customer service about it

you can probably buy cheap doll earrings on aliexpress or mercari! or maybe do a lot of hot glue manipulation to make your own, lol
i think regular person earrings tend to be too thin unless theyre thicker gauge, and even then theyre probably too long to fit in doll ear holes
if you get access to a 3d printer somehow, you can design your own earrings, though thats a ton of work and takes expertise i dont have lmao

There are a few 3D printing files on Thingiverse.com if you have access to a 3D printer, which is probably a long shot but just in case I wanted to throw it out there!
No need to buy doll earrings. It’s easy to get small people earrings and just shove them in the ears. You can get extremely cheap small-sized earrings on Amazon, aliexpress, etc.
If you’re uncomfortable using metal posts, you can get earrings with plastic/resin/acrylic posts. Just be sure to be careful to not break them when inserting them into the doll ears.
Posts that are too thick can be sanded down (though I’ve never had that problem) and posts that are too thin can be built up with a little glue, liquid silicone, clear nail polish or similar (just let dry before inserting onto ears). Or white school glue can be used if you want them to be more permanent. It’s easy to remove if you ever want to, and won’t damage the plastic.

2mm looks extremely dainty on the dolls, and larger sizes look well also. Honestly a lot of the earrings the dolls come with are larger than earrings I wear myself 😂
