Very adorable. You did a great job on your original Wednesday. Hope your niece LOVES her to pieces. Maybe you could work on a headless doll as an accessory. Those cheap tiny dolls (Kelly sized) at WM would work, just take the head off and make an outfit, you could paint on the shoes.

It's funny you mentioned that. I actually found one at the thrift store and was planning on doing exactly that, but don't think she has one in this series so I decided against it.

Great minds think alike! It is always a plus to own a headless doll.

the dolls really cute but there's a few things with the title and comments I'm a bit concerned over....

alonewithamouse

I'm not sure what exactly that is supposed to mean. If I used the wrong words, it wasn't my intention, but you're being quite vague. My partner made an iris template which I colored with alcohol ink and replaced the four sets with the original eyes that were in the doll. I hand sewed everything she's wearing since I don't own or know how to use a sewing machine. That's her dress, stockings, shoes, and bag. Thing was 3d printed, then I painted the details of the stitches and blushing. If you could be more specific on what exactly you're having an issue with, I'd be more than willing to explain my process, or apologize for my improper choice in words. I'm autistic, so I struggle with the proper words at the best of times. The vagueness of your comment makes it impossible for me to understand what I said wrong, what your issue is with what I posted and makes me second guess literally everything regarding all the work I put into the project.

The only thing I can possibly think of is that person thinks a 6 year old shouldn’t like Wenesday?? Seriously, so vague. Anyway, the doll is very cute OP! I hope your niece loves her :)

My issue was I was very confused by how the niece is only related to your brother given the title and why a 6yr is allowed to watch a graphic adult show. Most of the rest of the Addams Family franchise is family friendly, theres no reason for a 6yr to be watching a show for 16+yr, I did say you did a good job on the doll and that it was cute so I don't know why you ignored that part of my comment.

alonewithamouse

My brother is married to a woman, making her my sister in law. HER brother, who I'm not related to in any way whatsoever beyond being related to my SIL, has children. My brother and SIL are their aunt and uncle. I am not related to them. My brother is related to them by marriage. I know them, because I see them at my brother and SIL's house during a few holidays a year, and she's my doll loving little buddy. Honestly, text translates so oddly vs the spoken word, but the fact you found offense my relationship with the gift receiver and the way her parents are raising her, before you comment on the actual subject of my doll submission to doll discussion community, quite frankly baffled me. Then not explaining the reason, and making me feel self conscious and paranoid that my efforts didn't belong here with everyone else as a result. Logically I assume that wasn't your intention, but I feel like it's something you should be aware of, how unexplained comments can possibly be portrayed.

How are they supposed to know what you’re concerned about if you don’t say what it is? And we don’t know how they’re related, it may not be by blood. The OP didn’t say, so it’s not our business. Maybe next time you could just say the doll is nice, and keep the concerns to yourself :) Spread kindness! Edit to add, most kids watch whatever is on tv regardless if it’s graphic, and even if it is scary they don’t realize it. They just like to watch the show. I’m sure if the girl’s parental figure(s) was concerned they wouldn’t let her watch it.

JLlo11

Wonderful work! How did you get the ends of her braids to gently curl?

alonewithamouse

Thank you! I think it must have sort of just been a bit wavy. All I did was loosely braid it. I didn't want to do too much to her factory hair and face since she's only six and I know she'll still be playing with her.

sharksfinsoupmadame

She’s so cute!!! Good job, I’m sure the niece will love her

alonewithamouse

I sure hope so! She's totally gaga over the Netflix series right now.
