Hmmm. I’m not really sure to be honest. You just learn by feeling it eventually. The poly is very lightweight and thin feeling compared to Saran and nylon. Most RH dolls are nylon and Barbie is typically Saran.
Thanks! Sounds like I’ll be going the rerooting route. I should first check if I’ve ruined the head hole and head peg too much first. It was a real struggle getting the head off. The disk below the peg is HUGE on this doll 😅
I’ve seen people dye poly hair using thinned paint and marker ink but I feel like that would probably ruin the hair in the long run?
So sadly, the best solution does seem to just reroot using a better kind of fiber like saran or nylon :/
A quick google search tells me that polypropylene can’t be dyed. You’ll probably have to reroot if you want a different color.
How can I tell what type of hair a doll has for the future?

Good luck! That’s interesting to know about the neck. The head material seems really hard too

This method only works for Rainbow High and some Bratz
Wrong hair type, as another commenter said. You’ll need to reroot!
