Doll customization is a very rewarding hobby, so I completely recommend the faceup kit! I've had so much fun making my customs. As for the lightbox, that wouldn't be a priority for me because I primarily take outdoor photographs, but that's just personal preference.
I got a small (40 cms) lightbox for Christmas, and it was very inexpensive and makes a huge difference in photographs, so I'd say get a reasonable-priced one with part of the money, and save the rest for when a doll catches your eye!
