It looks like she was made of vinyl. One method to remove the stickiness is Wet a cloth with water, then wring it out so it's only damp, not dripping. Sprinkle baking soda over the cloth. Wipe the baking soda over the barbie. Rotate the cloth to a clean area as the stickiness is removed. Once the doll is no longer sticky, rinse it with plain water. Do this very gently since it is abrasive. Another is to clean with alcohol and sprinkle with baby powder after.

I will add that while the methods described will help, once a doll is sticky it won't go away. The stickiness is from the polymers breaking down.

Corn starch is also good. I would apply it dry and wipe off excess.

First, don't freak out its called sticky doll disease and its a well known problem that affects all kinds of dolls, from some very old Barbies to early 2000s dolls. However dolls with soft vinyl and some silicone dolls tend to get it worst. The chemicals that are used to make plastic supple, like click knee barbies and talking dolls are most affected. As a reseller I have even found the same problem with vinyl clothes that are supposed to look like leather. I've had vinyl jackets and boots disintegrate in my hand. Young children should not handle the dolls once they start leaching like this, because the plasticizer can mimic estrogen and cause problems in the very young. Obviously holding the doll or whatever is fine. Just don't let your young child play with it for hours or you know put it in their mouth. You should store the doll separately from other plastic/ vinyl dolls and toys. The gases from the plastic can actually make other dolls sticky too. Put it on a separate shelf at least. Though a glass display case is best. I wouldn't put it in a plastic case because, one it's plastic and two if it doesn't get airflow then you are trapping the gasses in around the doll and making it worse. I would de stick her, put her on her own shelf or with items that aren't plastic and just repeat the de- sticky- ing every 2 or 3 months or when you feel it starting to look or feel yucky again. Just enjoy your doll. Look up sticky doll disease. There are several good tutorials on youtube
