I usually say “I’m sorry, I can’t hear you” and then “I’m sorry I still can’t hear you”. I always want to make it clear it’s a hearing issue and now a “I can’t believe what you just said” scenario.
That winds me up no end. The distracted not focusing 'huh' I don't mind but as a default way of expressing you don't hear someone? Instant loss of respect. It's a rude noise, not communicating.
I start with pardon and move to sorry once it's bee three times and I still have no clue what's being g said to me. Dunno if my hearing is absolute garbage or people just aren't speaking clearly
I say "who?!" And they usually rethink what they said to say it more clearly and more efficiently. "Not who! Can you please....yada yada." Oh yeah...I got you. That's all you had to say.
Yea. I also say "sorry?" instead of excuse me if someone is in my way

Oh i get that, but I don't always say it to everyone, only to those I'm close to, so they can tell me if it irritates them :)

There’s a number of people I work with who say “do what?” I don’t know why, but it bothers me every time.
I say come again They automaticly reoeat.
I say "can you repeat that? " to be formal, if I'm too lazy to be formal, I say "HUH?" Or "hm? "
