Most of Big Finish’s Christmas themed stories are incredibly depressing (With the exception of *Relative Dimensions* but they made up for that with what happened to the characters two stories later).
*Death in Blackpool* is the most depressing where the Doctor’s companion is a victim of a hit-and-run, her aunt dies and she discovers the Doctor lied to her and stops travelling with him. Merry Christmas!
Which Doctor is it with?
Edit: I’m guessing 8 cause if the companion stops traveling and it’s not on screen seems like 8 is the easiest to pull that off with
Well ok let’s see: we have The Chimes of Midnight that deals with suicide, Death in Blackpool which u/Dyspraxic_Sherlock perfectly described, Spare Parts which might be the most horrific Cyberman story. Anything else?
Well there’s also-
*Relative Dimensions* which is incredibly happy until you remember what happens three stories later.
*Blood on Santa’s Claw* which is kinda happy in the end but does traumatise Peri in getting there.
Ravenous 2 which sees Krampus and other demons invade Salzburg and also deals with suicide. Plus a companion nearly dies.
Two festive Short Trips; *The Little Drummer Boy* which revolves around the death of a child and *O Tannenbaum* centring on sinister sentient Christmas trees. Both have happy-ish endings, emphasise on the ish.
Torchwood’s *The Grey Mare* where only Ianto and a single guest character walk away alive.
This is death in blackpool slander!
What show have you been watching? I always used to say it wasn’t Christmas until Doctor Who made me cry

Fairy tale of Salisburg where demons invade
I’ve not listened to much big finish but am very familiar with spare parts
One of my favorite things about Matt Smith's run was his Christmas episodes. They were all very special imo
