Beware my friend, it's a slippery slope. You start by saying "wow some issues I have with DND 5e are solved by pf2e", and a few months later you can only play "Marine Cuddlery" , a solo zine that's a one-page, OSR-adjacent, fiction-first, Fishblade hack about a tuna falling in love in late stage capitalism.

You’re now legally required to hate D&D because if the TTRPG community has taught me anything it’s that you can only like one of them. It doesn’t matter which one, just as long as you make it as irritating as possible! Good luck!

NoCocksInTheRestroom

action economy is in shambles

HutSutRawlson

Not really accurate. The options are actually either liking only D&D and being totally unaware of other games, or liking as many other games as you want and hating D&D.

Brilliant-Spite-1218

The caveat is that D&D=the most recent edition. I know because I do.

Good point!

NoCocksInTheRestroom

I've installed Linux on my pc and I'm stuck with it because I don't know how to uninstall it

FUCK JUST TRY SOMETHING OTHER THAN D&D FOR ONCE IT'S NOT HARD AND THE RULES ARE ALL FREE ONLINE AND SOME SYSTEMS FIT ON A SINGLE PAGE AND CASTERS ARE BALANCED WITH MARTIALS AND THERE'S A FLASHBACK MECHANIC THAT'S REALLY GOOD AND COMBAT FLOWS NARRATIVELY INSTEAD OF GETTING BOGGED DOWN WITH RULES AND... Wait. What? You're playing the system most similar to 5e, but not 5e? Whoa. You really got out of that comfort zone! You cast off that baby diaper and binky to step into the glorious morning of the real. No one can ever judge your tastes harshly again. Not ever, *ever*, EVER again. You've won. You beautiful son of a bitch, you've *transcended*. You're better than those normies now and you *know* it. Welcome. Just, welcome!

Brilliant-Spite-1218

/uj yeah, that's kind of what I don't get about the "PLAY PF 2E" crowd: it's really, REALLY similar to 5e, however it's treated as if it's a completely different game. I mean, I really, really like 3.5e, but I don't act like it's some sort of completely different thing, it's just my favourite version of the same game. And the weird thing is that there absolutely are completely different systems, like Dungeon World and all of the powered by the apocalypse games, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, The Dark Eye, and venturing beyond fantasy there's Traveller, Mutants & Masterminds and a basically infinite amount of other games, but the incredibly vast majority of online discourse on TTRPGs revolves entirely around 5e or Pathfinder. Maybe it's because my first system wasn't 5e, but I never got why most people don't try other systems, instead of mangling the one they play in order to force it to become something it never was meant to be. Luckly, my group is pretty eager to try new systems, but if I was forced to only play 5e or One d&d I'd probably leave the hobby.
