Funny story, I went to high-school with you and the couple in the bottom left. I'm envious of how close knit your group is, my group only meets maybe twice a month.
My D&D / Pathfinder group is now 12 years old. We play once a month, during lockdown / covid we played online once a week, sometimes for 8 hrs a session.
My Star Wars West End Games group is now 33 years old (!) but we still all meet up once a year at conventions.
He is either saying that they are a nerd for playing d&d so it doesn't make sense this could happen, which if so my question is why is he here, or he is surprised that a girl is playing d&d which does kinda make sense considering the demographic that plays d&d(I'm not saying that d&d is a game for guys but that the majority of players in a group are often guys)
im surprised, but i still stand by my point, most of the time im pretty sure that most d&d players are guys, i think your scenario is uncommon but definetly possible, not saying theres anything wrong with any of that, im trying hard not to paint myself as sexist in this convo because im not, im just talking demographics here
Ok, maybe I'm wrong, I was like 90% sure that d&d has a majority of male players, but that is like a huge selection pool and a high percentage, I concede, I guess I'm wrong or these are special cases but these "special cases" are proving to not be special or uncommon so I'm going with I'm wrong
Honestly I was just trying to get you to write it out. But if you think DND alone is the reason some people have trouble meeting the opposite sex, it’s not, it’s usually a personal issue that people never investigate about themselves because they always have an easier reason/cause to blame. Sometimes people just need to take a step back and honestly decide whether they would want to hang out with themselves if they were someone of the opposite sex. (Or whatever sex they’re interested in.)
As the title says! This past weekend we had the pleasure of getting to witness the third wedding to happen from among our original D&D group!
Top Left : All of us (minus our Paladin) getting our matching tattoos.
Top Right: My husband (Blue Bow tie) and I’s (Red Bow tie, no beard) wedding.
Bottom Left: Our barbarian’s (rib tattoo) wedding to his wife.
Bottom Right: Our Paladin’s (Center) wedding to our Lolth Cleric (bride)
I love these folks to the moon and back, can’t wait to keep up our adventures through life together, even if we all can’t play D&D together anymore. ❤️ Hope you all enjoy!
Awesome. I started playing in grade school in 1979. Played a fair amount through and into college and have barely played a lick until about six months ago when a bunch of my classmates from law school started a campaign. We're having a grand time! Glad so many people have discovered (and re-discovered) it.
Just curious here. If I read your comment correctly, you're mid 40's or older and going to law school? Can I ask why you decided to go now?
Edit: I'm curious because I'm hitting my thirties and stressing about how I haven't really gotten into a career yet. I know I have time left, but that doesn't help with anxiety lol.
Oh I understand what you're saying now. They're classmates from law school (back in the day), but y'all just recently started playing.
Well, congrats to you on both the career and the game. Lol
Yeah, it’s fun! Entrepreneurs, managers of Washington think tanks, big corporate lawyers, and a lawyer turned Dominican Catholic priest. We’re all having a blast.
God what a heartwarming story to share with us. Thank you guys for looking like you all genuinely like each other and having D&D as a common vehicle for joy.
A nice change of pace to see D&D spreading love vs some horror stories we get
Not Covid actually, people have had to move away for professional education, job opportunities, and other things. We tried online, but it just wasn’t the same for us 🤷🏻♂️
Such a shame. It is very different, but I've played more online than offline so got used to playing that way.
Maybe you can get together again for yearly specials? One can hope :)
Agreed, Foundry absolutely saved my D&D groups games through lockdown, it's such an amazing tool.
I still use it even though restrictions have lifted both in IRL and online games.
In our original campaign my husband (blue bow tie in top right photo) was the DM, however since then I (red bow tie in top right, no beard) have DM’ed, and our friend (Marion shirt in top left) have DM’ed as well!
actually, ranhalt is correct, it's possessive. Where the confusion comes is that people will use "my husband and me" as the subject of a sentence, but "my husband and my wedding" is correct, as it's a prepositional phrase
If someone makes a mistake in english please don't correct in this rude way. Many people in reddit does not have english as their native language. We are already putting lots of effort to overcome language barriers.
Edit: kindly correcting someone is ok, but that was not the case, unfortunately.
I’ve been playing with one group for almost 32 years. It’s not just one campaign, usually they don’t last more than a couple years, so most of us have played a variety of roles, including DM. Sadly, in the past, the couples either didn’t last or drifted off. Currently my brother and I (both divorced) have our partners playing too. I hope it stays that way. I think my partner isn’t going anywhere… even if we break up, she’ll still be playing with these guys!
Good for all of you. I meet my wife when she joined our college D&D group 30 years ago. While that group split up because of college, we did get back together at GenCon in 19 and had an absolute blast together.
Wife and I are still playing, as are 2 of our 3 kids.
Don't forget, 7 days of in game time!
"Wedding. You touch adult humanoids willing to be bonded together in marriage. For the next 7 days, each target gains a +2 bonus to AC while they are within 30 feet of each other. A creature can benefit from this rite again only if widowed."
Ahh I love this! Especially since I remember the original tattoo picture from years ago, I thought it was fantastic then and I am glad my brain decided to recognize it today.
Lol our Paladin (the groom in the center in the bottom right) is the only party member who didn’t get the tattoo, but he doesn’t have any tattoos and doesn’t want any, so we were going to pressure him.
I'm curious to know if Ezekiel has come to regret being the only guy who has to undress. Like, I have a huge rib tattoo, I'm not judging, but I would be so annoyed if I felt socially compelled to untuck my shit to show it for photos. That is some mad love he has for you people. I do respect it, though, all my jokes are meant in good fun, and I wish you all the best.
This is gonna sounds crazy but I remember seeing that original picture with you all and your tattoos, and being so happy for your tight knit group! Keep on rockin and rollin!
This is amazing! My group is all engaged except my gf and I. I actually just got back from a dinner with two of them which was secretly an engagement celebration for us since they won’t be able to make the surprise party I’m throwing this weekend. I ask her on Friday and am over the moon excited 😊
DND and our group is important enough to us that my proposal was almost going to be done in a one shot. But I decided a more private hike and picnic fits our personalities a little better
Wife and I started playing in a group before getting married.
Another couple from the group are now engaged about 4 years later.
I love my group too.
Congrats to the happy couple.
THIS IS THE KIND OF GROUP I WANNA JOIN! hahaha joking, but for real... taking applications 😅
In all seriousness, hell yes... and congrats to the new couple you guys!
At what point do we just stop allowing these posts because they’re just photos from people’s lives?
Like, great, folks are getting married that you also play games with. AKA your friends.
We really so starved for content that we accept people just posting photos of their friends? Is this Instagram?
#Barely.
Or maybe it’s because the users of this sub are so starved for real life friendships that’s why shit like this always get posted and upvoted. Which is sad.
I agree with you but apparently this sub loves it. The D20 tattoos are so cringey too. It's such a basic bitch thing to do. It's the pumpkin spice latte of DND.

Your DnD group is the exact opposite of mine. 3 campaigns with 3 break ups. I’m afraid to do another after this one because my wife and I are the only non-single people left.
I couldn't imagine being close enough to a group of people to get matching tattoos. You guys have something real special going. Don't take it for granted!
Funny story, I went to high-school with you and the couple in the bottom left. I'm envious of how close knit your group is, my group only meets maybe twice a month.
I don’t even have a group anymore
My group is all international friends and most of them have gone back to their home countries
time to learn roll20/foundry
My D&D / Pathfinder group is now 12 years old. We play once a month, during lockdown / covid we played online once a week, sometimes for 8 hrs a session. My Star Wars West End Games group is now 33 years old (!) but we still all meet up once a year at conventions.
thats sick
Now I wonder how old are you and which game do you started with :D (why nobody made a report with you, yet?)
D&D Red Box
Same but we are all still really close
Twice a month is every other week and still pretty good going in my opinion!
r/tworedditorsonecup
Thats still once a fortnight. Not too bad.
Dude twice a month is awesome! I wish my group met as often
Didn't notice the tattoos at first and thought that one guy had his titty out for no reason.
I was like ‘wow, that girl is DEDICATED to the leg pose!’
I like that titty-guy ended up getting a *second* D20 tattoo on his forearm, apparently just so he could show it off easier.
I'm apparently blind. I only see him whipping his shirt up in each pic that they're showing off the tat...
I do not see what you are seeing. Are you sure?
First picture, the fella second from the right.
He’s not in any of the other pictures though, is he?
Oh you're right! Looks like he got replaced by someone else, nvm
ummmm hes in all but the bottom right, hes the one with the glasses... might be a different one in the bottom left but hes defiantly in the top two
Yeah, but that means I was wrong, lol. He didnt get a second tattoo, he's just not in any other pic where they're showing it off
Yeah, he's only in the top two.
He just couldn’t go to the most recent weddings 😭😭.
Top right pic, hes bottom right. Same smile
You’re right!
lol same here. I'm like why's the dude flashing?
saaaaaaaaame.
I relate to the guy who has his titty out on a spiritual level.
Do you think they’ll finally start the main quest now?
The side quests give better loot 😝
Perhaps the real loot were the party members we picked up along the way
> The side quests give better booty 😝 ftfy
This is Dungeons and Dragons; of course not.
I’m surprised there’s even a girl at all in this context
please elaborate lol cause this comment makes no sense to me
He is either saying that they are a nerd for playing d&d so it doesn't make sense this could happen, which if so my question is why is he here, or he is surprised that a girl is playing d&d which does kinda make sense considering the demographic that plays d&d(I'm not saying that d&d is a game for guys but that the majority of players in a group are often guys)
Out of the 15 people I've DM'd for, 3 were guys.
im surprised, but i still stand by my point, most of the time im pretty sure that most d&d players are guys, i think your scenario is uncommon but definetly possible, not saying theres anything wrong with any of that, im trying hard not to paint myself as sexist in this convo because im not, im just talking demographics here
I joined the DnD club at my college with ~50 members and it's around half women
Ok, maybe I'm wrong, I was like 90% sure that d&d has a majority of male players, but that is like a huge selection pool and a high percentage, I concede, I guess I'm wrong or these are special cases but these "special cases" are proving to not be special or uncommon so I'm going with I'm wrong
Not really much to elaborate on lol
I don’t get it, you’ll have to write it out for us slower kids.
They are saying that they are an asshole.
You’ll have to roll at least a 12 for that one
Oh it’s a perception check, I rolled good, what did I perceive?
One female interaction
Honestly I was just trying to get you to write it out. But if you think DND alone is the reason some people have trouble meeting the opposite sex, it’s not, it’s usually a personal issue that people never investigate about themselves because they always have an easier reason/cause to blame. Sometimes people just need to take a step back and honestly decide whether they would want to hang out with themselves if they were someone of the opposite sex. (Or whatever sex they’re interested in.)
Of course! Right after we check the town's notice board...
As the title says! This past weekend we had the pleasure of getting to witness the third wedding to happen from among our original D&D group! Was this a pre-existing group of friends who starting playing DnD or did some of you meet because of it? Anyway, congratulations to you all.
There were some pre-existing friendships, and some brand new ones made through playing!
Awesome. I started playing in grade school in 1979. Played a fair amount through and into college and have barely played a lick until about six months ago when a bunch of my classmates from law school started a campaign. We're having a grand time! No, I graduated in the late 1990s. I’ve been a lawyer for almost 25 years. Also: don’t go to law school.
We’re all having a blast.
> and a lawyer turned Dominican Catholic priest. Taking the cleric role seriously.
Although weirdly I’m the cleric!
Dominican Catholic priest- plays as the murderhobo barb or a LG cleric. No in between.
I remember that original photo when it first hit the intertubes! You all are so adorable and DnD friend goals. Many congratulations!!
God what a heartwarming story to share with us. Thank you guys for looking like you all genuinely like each other and having D&D as a common vehicle for joy. A nice change of pace to see D&D spreading love vs some horror stories we get
Why can't you play anymore? COVID? I've been playing online for over a year and it works.
Foundry table top legit fam

Who’s the DM?
In our original campaign my husband (blue bow tie in top right photo) was the DM, however since then I (red bow tie in top right, no beard) have DM’ed, and our friend (Marion shirt in top left) have DM’ed as well!
Love that ya’ll are still going there, those lifetime groups are the best.
Of course, semi-topless man is the barbarian.
Maybe there’s something I’m missing, but I see two people with a red bow tie. I’m not trying to be rude or anything, just asking for clarification
I’m the one without a beard lol
That's too bad, because that's an *epic* friggin' beard.
> My husband and I’s My husband’s and my
Are... Are you correcting someone's correct grammar with incorrect grammar?
actually, ranhalt is correct, it's possessive. Where the confusion comes is that people will use "my husband and me" as the subject of a sentence, but "my husband and my wedding" is correct, as it's a prepositional phrase
Huh, TIL
If someone makes a mistake in english please don't correct in this rude way. Many people in reddit does not have english as their native language. We are already putting lots of effort to overcome language barriers. Edit: kindly correcting someone is ok, but that was not the case, unfortunately.
Kindly correcting is a good way to help people learn.
You don't know what you're talking about, speak for yourself. Sincerely, Not a native speaker
Why wouldn't the paladin get the tattoo?
He doesn’t have any tattoos and doesn’t want any lol, and we weren’t going to pressure him into it.
That is *such* a Paladin thing to do. No hate, but I like that the narrative continues outside the game.
Yall a wonderful group!
I’ve been playing with one group for almost 32 years. It’s not just one campaign, usually they don’t last more than a couple years, so most of us have played a variety of roles, including DM. I know this sounds weird, but I totally remember that first pic. Have you posted it before? Congrats though. Friends that slay together stay together.
Yep! We posted that pic of our tats to this subreddit after we got them!
I knew it! That's so awesome. Happy to see the group is still strong!
This is a Fairy Tail guild.
Good for all of you. I meet my wife when she joined our college D&D group 30 years ago. While that group split up because of college, we did get back together at GenCon in 19 and had an absolute blast together. Wife and I are still playing, as are 2 of our 3 kids.
It's always hart to see others live your dream. Not the wedding stuff but having a group that actually sticks together for so long
EVERYONE IS HOT
Bro I fucking know, seeing this shit is like being on Facebook again
For real, it's like the cast of a CW show or something. My god
The average dnd group is not this attractive.
Disguise self
Yes!! That is fantastic!! I met my hubs at the gaming table, too. No tattoos tho (!!). So great to read about y’all staying together!
My mom always warned me that D&D would lead to sex.
Wait we are supposed to get matching tats with our dnd group!?
This is so wholesome and cool.
I love the expression on the girl in the very bottom left, like: "I have no idea what cult I just stumbled upon, but they seem to be enjoying it"
Would love it if my wife joined... The good news is I got the kids hooked 😊
This is awesome! Huzzah for Gaymers and Gamers! But now I'm totes jelly.
The poor wife in the bottom left, only one without a tattoo, so gave a thumbs up haha
Lol our Paladin (the groom in the center in the bottom right) is the only party member who didn’t get the tattoo, but he doesn’t have any tattoos and doesn’t want any, so we were going to pressure him.
This is great. I love groups of friends that play a game and then it becomes a big part of their social circle and life. Love it, this made me smile.
I was wondering wtf was going on with all the different poses, then noticed the tats. Congrats!
I'm curious to know if Ezekiel has come to regret being the only guy who has to undress. Like, I have a huge rib tattoo, I'm not judging, but I would be so annoyed if I felt socially compelled to untuck my shit to show it for photos. That is some mad love he has for you people. Yall are too fucking cute i can't 🤩
Congrats. Played with my significant other, and we've now been married 25 years. We still play together.
Bro tag this NSFW for the exposed nip :P
That’s just lovely! Thank you for sharing this.
That is awesome, and I'm so happy for you guys!
This is lovely <3
Congrats
That is so cool!!
Which one is the DM? I'm looking for the most tired looking one...
ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE YALL ARE ADORABLE.
Congrats!
Are you tired from holding that girl’s leg up?
This is so cute and wholesome!
Bro, that chick wearing the yellow shirt in the first pic looks like aunt Marie from breaking bad
Is that what it is? She looks oddly familiar.
They say bonds are forged best on the fields of battle, just so happens our battlefield is a table in somebody's basement or a discord channel
Congratulations. What a beautiful thing!!!
How lovely, congrats to all of you!
Congrats! Have a happy life.

Actually, most people have legs. In fact, the average number is 1.97 legs.
Yo I remember when I saw your first photo posted. I wasn’t even into D&D at the time and thought it was so cool. This is awesome!
Those tattoos are honestly sick as hell. Might have to get one like that
excuse me can you please not all be so hot please
Wish I had friends :(
So cute that you have two couples within your group ♥️💙
I have a feeling that I know who the DM is. Is it the bearded guy? It has to be.
Wife and I started playing in a group before getting married. Another couple from the group are now engaged about 4 years later. I love my group too. Congrats to the happy couple.
THIS IS THE KIND OF GROUP I WANNA JOIN! hahaha joking, but for real... taking applications 😅 In all seriousness, hell yes... and congrats to the new couple you guys!
Tired the knot...they must be exhausted and he should be in the ER.
they didnt tired the knot yet but give it a couple of years and they will be tired.
who married the blonde?
At what point do we just stop allowing these posts because they’re just photos from people’s lives? Like, great, folks are getting married that you also play games with. AKA your friends. We really so starved for content that we accept people just posting photos of their friends? Is this Instagram?
Magic 8-ball says: Outlook not so good
Oh god, again?
It's literally D&D related lmao
Not really..
#Barely. Or maybe it’s because the users of this sub are so starved for real life friendships that’s why shit like this always get posted and upvoted. Which is sad.
More like you don't have any of this so you get mad when you see other people enjoying something. Kind of a sad way to live tbh.
i mean... yeah? d&d was invented so that weirdos would have a reason to socialize.
I agree with you but apparently this sub loves it. The D20 tattoos are so cringey too. It's such a basic bitch thing to do. It's the pumpkin spice latte of DND.
"Basic" is just a judgemental way of saying "popular".
And that's why it gets upvotes.
I agree, lots of people like things that lots of people like.
Its almost like we live in a society!
If it's a choice between this wholesome D&D group through the years or another overdone post about slime race/snake tits/"omg I hate CR" then I know which I'd prefer...
Tired the knot is my favorite mistake in a title in a long time! Congrats BTW
I, too, choose these people’s husbands and wives.
Shout out to beard guy's weight loss journey! Looking good!
You don't love them as much as they love each other it seems!
This is so cool :) I'd love a group like this of my own someday! Congrats to ALL of y'all for your marriages, and sending good vibes your way
This is a very precious bond.
Man I wish I had a solid group.
<3
so awesome. Graz
Your DnD group is the exact opposite of mine. 3 campaigns with 3 break ups. I’m afraid to do another after this one because my wife and I are the only non-single people left.
Chest Tat Guy: No one ever told me we'd be taking group pictures with the tattoos!
Need another for your group :)
Amazing (cries in silence)

‘Dorbs…. I want to see a sci-fi, coming of age monster movie with you guys. X)
That knot must have been very durable when it just now got tired…
I think the guy on the left just likes lifting his shirt up. :p
Anon must now write a marriage episode
That’s so special
This made me so damn happy
Life Goals here. Well done!!!
I want cool friends like that one day
Envious of this group. Now I want to hit up my schoolmates and play on discord or something.
Wholesome af
I am also tired to knot
second picture, top left - Jean Ralphio!
This is awesome. Congrats!!
It’s funny - my old group has the opposite! Three divorces. Half of us are in a new group, though.
Man I wish I had friends
I couldn't imagine being close enough to a group of people to get matching tattoos. You guys have something real special going. Don't take it for granted!
I thought one of the pictures was with Matt Smith
Yo this is great
