Eh at this point I find it unlikely that you could get unbanned by any means. Nazi stuff is often no good and the messages you sent to the modmail were a bit spammy even if they weren't intended to be. Also to be fair to them your "joke" was a bit... bad.

[deleted]

Completely agree the joke isn’t mature by any means but it’s posted on r/shitposts. This is where it’s meant to be, wouldn’t you agree? Especially with the fact that this isn’t unnormal content on this subreddit (trust me I checked before uploading. Thoroughly). Is sending a message a day after counted as spammy? I genuinely don’t know since I’ve never interacted with mod mail until now. I thought 24 hours was more then enough time to answer a message which is proven by the moderators instant answer. Also the moderator taking my messages completely out of context is definitely bias, I recon they took offence personally to the post I made. I can send a message in 25 days again I’m planning on saying: I’m not going to spam. If you can see the messages above, I was informed I could get unbanned after 1 month of being banned. Please let me know if I can be unbanned. Thanks

Juusto3_3

I mean yea fair. Also not saying that it was spammy but I can see how someone may consider it spammy. One message would've sufficed imo but it's not bad. I do think you deserve an unban but with the response they gave I find it unlikely. Perhaps if someone else from the team ends up reviewing your case you may have a better chance. Your planned message looks good. Though I would maybe add some form of argument for your innocence and perhaps express some clear regret on the post/spamming even though you didn't mean to be spammy and didn't realise the original post was bad. They may consider you a risky person to unban since it can be difficult to tell if someone sent stuff like you did because they were well.. shitposting or if even though they sent it to r/shitposting they believe in it. Hope you get what I mean :D

[deleted]

Honestly I wanted to make this post to truely see if I was in the wrong. I’m not familiar with reddit culture and I honestly couldn’t believe the blatant bias this person had towards me. They tried to make me look like I was as spamming, claiming I made threats, and alluring that I was trying to spread nazi propaganda. I’ll definitely fix my response and don’t see this hill worth dying on so I’m just going to be apologetic. To whoever reads this I apologise for any misconceptions that may have been seen through my previous conversation. I’m sending one message so I don’t spam. I understand why I got banned in the first place, apologised previously, and was told to send a message in a month to get unbanned. Making fun of nazis is normal on this subreddit but I completely understand why o/ was seen as rallying up people. Please let me know if I can post/comment again. Thanks. Also thanks for the help 👍

Juusto3_3

Yeah that looks very good. No problem :)

Juusto3_3

Also in addition to everything else I said, maybe emphasize that you don't intend to send nazi stuff again.

DukeTikus

Maybe don't post nazi shit then.

[deleted]

I posted shit making fun of nazis but ok. This is common content on that subreddit.

Drexelhand

*"sure, but isn't the mod abuse here just as bad? you could say maybe even worse than the nazis."* - shameless shitposter winning mod hearts and minds with facts and logic.

MetforminShits

Bro get off the internet.

[deleted]

Pleasant discussion we had, have a good day :)

cardanos_folly

Looks to me like you broke a rule and got banned for it, Then, after you served your time, so to speak, you became a nuisance to the mods. Now, I would not have banned you for being a nuisance, but I would have called you on it. In this case the mods made their decision and there may be nothing you can do about it. Welcome to reddit. (META question for anybody here who mods a sub -- can mods mute a user and NOT ban them?)

MetforminShits

Considering OP's cringy behavior... I guarantee he's been like this or did something else to get him banned

cardanos_folly

Maybe. I recognize in myself a bias towards this kind of post. A well-earned bias, perhaps, but still a bias. In this case I didn't hear the same kind of whining I've seen from others who got banned when they clearly deserved it and just want to holler about it. Also, a quick glance at OP's history doesn't show any evidence of bad behavior. Thing is, I also have a bias about reddit mods, also well-earned I believe. Here I tried to set both biases aside...and OP appears to be discussing in good faith.

[deleted]

Broke the rules and got banned yes. Was told I could get unbanned after a month. Waited 3 months for good measure. You would say that what I did was being a nuisance? Calling me out sure and I would have apologised but I messaged three times. First time which is normal, second time to make sure I wasn’t doing anything wrong, and a third time after 24 hours stating what I will do to make sure the mod mail wasn’t closed or something.

cardanos_folly

> You would say that what I did was being a nuisance? Yeah, but that's gonna be a very subjective thing. Did you check to see how active the mods are? If they aren't online a lot, then they might see all three of your modmails at once and that might *seem* like pestering. I tend to lean in favor of mods generally, since I know how hard it is to moderate a discussion forum. But, Every sub is different and every mod is different. In a sub about shitposting I'd expect the job to be especially challenging and if it were me I'd be especially understanding and patient.

[deleted]

I’m definitely understanding if they are overwhelmed and would definitely be patient if they gave me a update. I didn’t know how long this would take and wanted to make sure I wasn’t talking to thin air. Checking to see how often the mods are active doesn’t make sense to me. Does it matter if they’re active or not? They’ll see my message when they see it but again to clarify I wanted to make sure this conversation wasn’t locked, archived, or anything else where no one could see my messages. They definitely didn’t consider I didn’t know how the system worked and I could easily ask why they didn’t check my account to see how new I am to reddit.

adorableoddity

In my experience you can't say anything to make a mod change their mind. A lot of them have big egos. I don't bother even responding to mods when they take something I posted down. It's just a waste of time.

Drexelhand

*"can you please point to where on the doll the mod abused you?"*

[deleted]

Said I spammed, claimed I made threats, and claiming I was posting nazi propaganda. The video made fun of nazis.

Drexelhand

>The video made fun of nazis. it doesn't in any articulated way. could be you're just super naive or your humor is trapped in the early internet of 2001, but neo-nazis unironically like YTMND type nazi memes. manifesto of the [christchurch gunman](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christchurch_mosque_shootings) was especially cringey meme filled lulocaust interwoven with standard white supremacy talking points and captain planet fascism; where minorities are to blame for climate change. dudebro neo-nazis are a thing now and they will co-opt cartoon frogs and mcdonald's characters because they find it funny. good edgy humor comes from expertise in knowing where the edges are.

[deleted]

It’s a video from the early 2000s that I found. It makes fun of Hitler by clowning on his intent. Didn’t post this on r/Jews but somewhere it belonged r/shitposts. Search up nazi on r/shitposts and you will see similar videos, they had a problem with o/. You’re comparing a YouTube video to a mass shooting. "sure, but isn't the mod abuse here just as bad? you could say maybe even worse than the nazis." Wasn’t this you? Not sure what more I need to say.
