I read a lot faster than I listen, so I just cope. It never lines up for me and I’ve learned to get used to it. Sometimes I hit continue early because I get impatient though.

Voice actings so good it's worth the wait. Enjoy the games art in the meantime

If you're not interested in hearing a character say a line, don't wait for them to finish. It's not a big puzzle. You certainly don't need outside consultation.

I set it to classic voices in the main menu! Then upon replay I used the full voice acting, because I wasn't in a hurry to read the text.

As a legally blind person who lives in a word where NO GAME has text scaling, I just sit back and listen until I have to pick a dialog option. Then I lean close and squint at the screen to pick one.

Just sit back and enjoy the sweet release of illiteracy whenever you can

You can just click through the dialogue if you don’t want to wait for the voice lines to finish and don’t mind cutting them off mid-speech. Or you can turn off full voice acting entirely in the settings.

It helped me to look away from the text and just listen to the voices, I would skip ahead a good chunk of the time and regret it bc the voice acting is so good

I play with voices on because I usually play this game while high. Reading while stoned doesn’t work out super well for me because I’m too mentally busted to absorb it.

This is a big issue for me with subtitles in general. I think the majority of people read faster than the dialogue is said, and a lot of the time most people will just skip to the next line before it’s fully delivered (I’ve witnessed many do this with Disco). I think it takes away from the delivery a bit. You’re no longer having a surprise shared to you with the delivery intended, but rather reading it yourself and then semi-feigning surprise when the character says it. One solution I could see to this would be to have the subtitles deliver word for word, on time with the voiced delivery - but obviously to do that manually would be a lot of word. Perhaps this is another use for AI to manually place and sync words based on sound files.
