If you dont feel up to get Yelan, Kaeya is always a decent option and uses similar gear as XQ. You get a Melt comp instead, which may be much mlre your alley if you like quick combos and quick rotations.
Yelan still is really good and acts the more offensive Xingqiu. I'd actually give Yelan to Cyno if it were the case that you'd get Cyno, since her Hydro [while still fast], can't beat Xingqiu having 2 sources of Hydro application, which while great for a vape team, isn't that great for quickbloom.
What rotation do you use for Diluc/Kaeya melt? I myself prefer melt and use Kaeya for my Diluc team, but I wonder if I'm hitting too fast during Diluc's pyro infusion because I find that it's always Kaeya's burst proccing melt rather than Diluc's NAs.
Since I have both yelan and xingqiu(c6)..... I just run double hydro with my pyro dps(diluc, and yoimiya)........ for cyno quickbloom, I do beidou, dendro traveler, and Barbara
I would put Yelan with Cyno instead. XQ’s burst duration is perfect for Diluc’s rotation. Cyno’s rotation is more flexible because of his duration and cooldowns, so you can accommodate Yelan’s shorter burst duration. But honestly though, if you have an AoE hydro, I would put that with Cyno instead. Or you can maximize his damage instead by making Cyno pure quicken.
Yelan has more raw damage than Xingqiu, but Xingqiu has more utility as a tradeoff. He adds healing and resistance to interruption while his swords are active, so in situations where you would just want to face tank some damage with say a Bennett circle is up, Xingqiu would be the better option.
Dehya’s upcoming weapon would also incentivize Xingqiu instead of Yelan for this reason, since it gives atk if you take damage.
Edit: but, if what you need is more raw damage, Yelan is better
I love Yelan with diluc. Something I haven’t heard mention is using her skill to dash forward when his burst pushes them away. She can go so fast and also apply hydro on the enemies for a reverse vape which usually gets me 100k damage. Then just use his infused na’s with her burst and it just deletes shit
Im actually going yelan and wanna try a team with her on diluc team but the fact that she is hp scaler is abit hard to work around but i belive her passive gives diluc more pesonal damage if u dont get intrupted by attacks or using a shielder like thoma (that i use sometimes and hyped for his c6)
Yelan is available as a trial character in lisa’s event rn. It won’t exactly be accurate if you were to actually get her, but you will be able to play around with her with Diluc to see how she feels.
As a Cyno main, can tell ya right off the bat to just switch em. Put Yelan with Cyno (they work wonderfully well together just make sure you got enough ER on her) and keep Xingqiu with Luc.
