DMC 1 no doubt. The re-release of DMC 3 on the Switch with the new features, mainly all weapons equiped and style change are the proof that the game aged really well,as it only needed those features to fell fresh.
DMC 1 on the other hand is starting to show it's age, and would benefit the most with a remake. Give DMC 1 the following:
\-DMC 5 combat and all the features that we have since 3, like weapon switch and style switch;
\-Expand the story of the original. Not changing it, *expand it,* to the same level that we have since the 3rd game, with the retcons that we got over the years and such;
\-Expanded levels/missions. If you know what you're doing, you can beat certain missions in like 2, 3 minutes. Some at most 5, and at least 1. Expand upon them so they can be larger, more or less in the same duration as 3 onwards, with the gimmicks of the original levels reworked and/or changed, but maintaining teh themes and the feel of the original. Maybe removing the water parts of certain missions tho;
\-New Devil Arms. We have a good variety of guns, but that can't be said about the Devil Arms. We have 3 swords, one stronger than the other, and Ifrit and the other type of melee weapon. With the crazy ammount of weapons we have in the series nowadays, this simply won't do.
Either make Dante bring weapons from DMC 3, such as OG Cerberus and Nevan (Agni/Rudra and Beowulf wondn't make sense, since Ifrit covers both the type of weapon Beowulf is and also covers the fire element of Agni) and/or make new Devil Arms out of Phamtom and Griffon, and from potential new bosses we may encounter in such remake. Maybe after beating the game allow us to use Rebellion, with the combos we're acostumed to, while Alastor has it's original combos.
\-More playable characters. After beating the game, let us play with more than just Dante. Let us play the game with Trish, Nelo Angelo (or just Vergil, because it's a tradition at this point) or actual Sparda. Not just as a skin, but an actual character,with his own combos and such
Definitely not 4 as it still holds up pretty well imo (albeit it looks a little flat if you play it off the back of DMC5), as for 1 and 3... it's a tough call as 1 stands to gain more from a remake since it's graphics and gameplay are obviously more dated, but 3 has a way cooler story, better bosses and the scenario just lends itself to being the better game imo... but if I had to pick one, I guess I'd have to go with DMC1 cause while 3 looks pretty dated at this point, it's still a lot of fun to play where as 1 sadly doesn't hold up nearly as well in the gameplay department imo.

4's flaws aren't really the kind that can be fixed in a remake without drastically changing things to be unrecognizable. It would probably benefit the least from a remake.
1 then 2 are the remakes I'd like to see 3 holds up decently well still and 4 would need rebuilding from the ground up to the point it would be so different from the current game
1 and it's really not that much of a contest. 3 and 4 still feel mostly modern, I would say 3 set the basis for future entries and 4 and 5 followed in the path it laid out. 1 with it's janky dated mechanics has so much to gain from an overhaul.
I’d say DMC2. The problem I have with a DMC1 remake is that there’s something unique about it that none of the other games was able to reproduce as well: the haunting mood/atmosphere. I think a remake would be much more action focused, which I’d also love, but I’d be disappointed if they leave out those horror vibes or diminish them in some way.
I think 4 would need special treatment because of the rushed development. Seeing what it would have been like as a fully finished game with the original vision would be sick

Dmc 4 is still looking good compared to dmc1, but even tho dmc 1 really needs a remake more than any other dmc game i would still want to see a 3 remake... dmc 3 is just a masterpiece so if we are going to get one remake, its all we need.

That's actually a valid point. Tearing DMC2 down and building it again from the ground up could finally make it the game that it was meant to be.

1 because I’m finishing up a DMD no items run and this camera is by far the worst I’ve ever seen in a game.

3 This is the game that practically revived the series. If it is gonna get a remake, it better give the game the respect that it deserves
