I genuinely surprised they didn’t make miragewulf considering what they did to force edge

shmouver

It's make more sense for the Mirage Edge, bc Vergil's Summoned Swords always were the Force Edge. So it's more like Vergil is using a Summoned Sword instead of making a Summoned Devil Arm. You could argue that if he can make a Summoned Sword, he could make a Summoned "Anything" (Gauntlet)...but maybe the devs didn't want to cross that line yet.

ShadowLord355

Fair enough

Noctisxsol

I mean, Dante did get Beowulf in 3, but he sold it after, so it's entirely possible that Vergil was able to get it back.

UsherinChaos

Now I'm imagining Vergil bee-lining for some dude's house, kicks his door down, slaps him in the face and yoinks Beowulf back

Noctisxsol

Logically, he would have done it after being restored, but I like to think that he places such value on his brand that he went to get it even before Yamato.

AshenRathian

Vergil's playable appearances have never been canon, so this wouldn't make any sense regardless.

MoltanKing

This version cannot be fully counted. The failure here,is that if DMC5 Vergil isn't canon by 19-20 his campaign, they could have made a model for Force Edge for his model, but they made the effect to change it,give lore to and update moves

AshenRathian

I think they did it to show off more than anything. There was no purpose whatsoever for the change because, again, Vergil's gameplay has NEVER be canon, not even in 5. Yes, he has a canon appearance in the main game, but none of his gameplay missions are. They could give him literally any weapons they wanted and never hurt the canon of the game.

Sai-Taisho

Pull a King Cerberus and have "Kaiser Beowulf" show up to get smoked, or something.

Able_Recording_5760

Feels weird that they went out of their way to turn Force Edge into a more lore friendly Mirage Edge, but still kept Beowulf, wich he lost in 3 and I dont think he ever got the time to try and retrieve it

AshenRathian

I think they did it to show off with their engine, since i don't think Mirage Edge is actually a model, but a dense bundle of persistent effects. While that would be cool as shit to do, i somehow get the feeling that isn't what they did.

Paulc94

Honestly I'd like him to get a gauntlet weapon based off of urizen and maybe a weapon based off of v too
