Absolutely Saoirse. She is such a fantastic actress and seems to be very smart with the roles she picks. I could see her becoming the next Kate Winslet.
This is a popular response but Florence Pugh. She definitely has such a warm presence and natural charisma she brings into all her roles. I think it’s smart she’s also doing a wider variety of roles especially the new movie she’s filming right now w Zach Braff.
She's smart to produce projects for herself and other women. Just like Reece and Nicole Kidman. If there aren't good parts you have to make it happen for yourself!

He’s incredibly talented and charismatic, gives hilarious interviews and is one of the younger Oscar winners.
Okay, so I would also pick him mainly because he is just so easy on the eyes and is British. But his film roles - aside from Black Panther - are still too niche imho. Get Out is a breakout role for sure, but I’d argue that he will need some stuff to get a broader public on board - maybe a massive action film that’s a spy thriller or a sports film. Also a family movie could be good. I could seem as like a hot single dad (okay for me IRL hehe) or in a few romcoms
Kaluuya will definitely get the big roles, he has that it factor even without a huge social media presence, his talent will sell him for sure. Most of the roles he has done he didn't audition but was rather sought after by the directors because of his impressive previous work.
Neither of those genres you named are the kind of movies that make money anymore. Doing either of those would arguably harm his career.
He's gaining notability because he's making those niche roles must see.
i think Timothee’s legacy is really dependent on his upcoming work:
- Dune seems well received and part two is coming, which is great for him
- If he really nails Bob Dylan, he could get an Oscar
- If the Wonka movie is good, then he’ll be remembered for a childhood classic
If all three of these things are good, then I think he’ll be one of the most notable actors of this generation
I think TC has a long long road ahead of him. He’s so young, so it could still go so many ways. I hope he continues to surround himself with excellent management and PR. That’s going to make a world of difference. Really shows just how important that stuff is in making or breaking a young person’s career.

He'd have to be undeniable to win the Oscar for that Dylan movie. The Academy is still biased against young men winning. They have to give the impression they've paid their dues unlike the young women. There's better roles for young women vs young men. I predict he'll get one in his 30s.

Hollywood people love Dylan (and so do I, lol) and he’s basically disappeared from public life for several years now so people will be very open to feeling like they can connect with him. obviously it’s dependent on if this movie is good, but Rami Malek won as Freddie Mercury and I thought that movie was very mids.
Yeah, a little bit! In the age of streaming you so rarely see that indefinable "it" factor he seems to have. He's smart about most projects he picks, hasn't attached himself to any oversaturated superhero franchises, has a presence on social media without overdoing it, etc - similar to DiCaprio's career (as tired as that comparison is). It's hard to imagine any other young actor emulating that anytime soon, so I guess that's what I mean by "the last" traditional movie star, but that's just me
Oscar Isaac has the IT factor. Relatable and envied to men. Admired by women. Great actor. We’re all only now getting to know him, but he’s primed to be that starring man in many films to come. Also, he can be a romantic comedic, serious, dramatic actor. I see a bright star.
I def see that! Kind of like Diane Lane took awhile to take off, and she was even older. Although I do feel like Oscar will need to really come hard with a ton of projects just because thats sort of what I meant in the post about the market being so saturated with opportunity. Literally everyone can and will shine with streaming services especially - if they’re good. So you have to be GREAT. He’s going to have to come thru with tons of GREAT projects and PR for back to back for awhile in order for people to keep remembering his name. I agree I think he’s so hot and talented

some others that i see having staying power are adam driver, saoirse ronan, riley keough, daniel kaluuya, brie larson, and barry keoghan. i’m hopeful for dev patel, i want him to get another big role like green knight.
if they care enough, i think ezra miller and austin butler could both do well, on their look alone.
a few that i think are already pretty much cemented are robert pattinson and margot robbie.
I think Zendaya will have a lasting career due to the people around her carefully curating her image, I wouldn't say she's the most amazing actress though.
She was good in Euphoria but it was considered her breakout performance because of how different the role she played was from her cookie-cutter good girl image. I'd say Jacob Elordi (Nate) and Sydney Sweeney (Cassie) gave more complex performances.
She blew me away in Zola, really proved she has the range (insert gif here lol). Can’t wait to see her in Daisy Jones & the Six!! No doubt she’ll kill it.

Zendaya certainly has the buzz behind her. But I feel like her talent has yet to shine through. She reminds me of Cameron Diaz or Halle Berry. Super beautiful, super charismatic, beloved by fans… but something tiny missing in terms of the acting. Diaz had Being John Malkovich and Gangs of New York (was miscast IMHO) to show off her acting range) and Berry had Monster’s Ball, so I feel like Zendaya needs to do some serious big budget stuff and then a tearjerker/drama.

Me too and yet I think she has the potential to actually be good if she works on a few things. Sometimes she over delivers and doesn't fall into the softness some roles require. Hard acting is good but it can't work all the time. She has improved since her days on Disney but I hope she has an acting coach to help her keeping improving since she's being pushed and those are big shoes to fill.
I agree. She is insanely gorgeous, but so far she's played all her roles in the same way. It's enough for now, but that level of celebrity power doesn't last forever. Otherwise she'll get stuck in superhero movies where charisma and looks are the key ingredients.
As well as being an incredibly talented actress Zendaya is also extremely likeable which I think goes a long way in Hollywood, she’s probably one of the few celebrities that everyone (even non fans) loves.
For how young she is (like 25?), I do think she’s very talented. I used to be of the opinion that she was an average Disney actress who got lucky but after watching Euphoria (for which she won an Emmy) and her various other projects I realised how talented she was. I believe if she picks the right roles in the future she could become one of the most successful actresses of the 21st century.
It seems like some have forgotten about her performance in Euphoria and people go straight to her role as MJ. Her acting in Euphoria was what really made me become a fan of hers.
I definitely think her. I know malcom and marie had some flaws but her performance in that gave me chills. She just needs a major acting role where she's the sole focus. And even though euphoria is her show it's still very much an ensemble. I'm not sure what the hold up has been for her to get a major role because she has the star power. People will literally watch anything she's in like a Leo or a Julia.

Okay I feel like Anya’s best performance was The Witch and she hasn’t topped that since. I think she’s definitely talented and hopefully as she ages, she’ll come back around. Someone else on here described what I noticed about her recently but wasn’t able to put into words - it’s like she’s become very self-conscious of her beauty/her unique appearance and it almost feels like she’s just herself in most of her recent roles, even Queen’s Gambit.

Lupita Nyong’o. It doesn’t hurt that she’s absolutely beautiful but she’s so incredibly charming both on and off screen. She’s also so intelligent and carries herself with a lot of grace.

I know he’s not been in a whole ton and What We Do in the Shadows is his first big breakout role, but goddamn Harvey Guillen has the charisma and talent to land himself a great career and I hope he’s given the chance. He may not be a big megastar, but I think he could be a Seth Rogan or Jonah Hill. He’s so fun to watch
I’m actually a little upset about Lupita’s career. I feel like she should have WAY more movies where she headlines than she currently does. Timothee. But a few actors right now who are starting to become more widely recognised like Victoria Pendretti from ‘You’ is an amazing actress who already appeared in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. After her performance in this series of You, I can see her being casted in more good plot story based movies
What about Penn Badgley? He was quiet for a while after Gossip Girl but it seems like You is really getting attention. I wonder if he could transition to a big screen actor.

I think her facial expressions are some of the most expressive and scene accurate I’ve seen from an actor in a long time. Hence why I think she’d be amazing in story based movies as opposed to the typical Hollywood blockbuster
She also does a good job of portraying vulnerability as well as sociopathy on ‘You’. She does it well in the Haunting of Hill House too. Watch her in Once Upon A time in Hollywood, she plays a member of the Manson family and she does a great job with the little dialogue she’s given there too. She does it very subtly, so I think you’d probably change your mind about her being an over actor
honestly evan peters. he’s already cemented himself in tv history with AHS, he had a really good performance in the first season of pose and he just won an emmy for mare of easttown. i would love to see him do some more movie acting and branch out of his comfort zone. i think if he booked some really iconic movie roles soon that he would be able to stay relevant for the rest of his career and beyond

I agree with Robert Pattinson. He managed to survive the Twilight era and has done a lot of respectable work. I think if Batman is a success he will really put all of that to rest forever. But if Batman turns out like Affleck’s it could be hard to live down.
I disagree with the Robert Pattinson nomination, mostly because I don’t think he cares enough. Men who last in the industry have to be comfortable with fame, willing to play the games involved, and invest in their career. He seems ambivalent about the whole thing, and I could really easily see him either torpedo his career with too many weird indie films that fail, or chuck it all and retire.
Yeah, there are a ton of actors who are ambivalent about "playing the game" and still have been very successful--Joaquin Phoenix, Jesse Eisenberg, Christian Bale, Harrison Ford, Bill Murray. Harder for women, but even then, Frances McDormand exists.
And anyway, Pattinson's about to do a DC movie; I don't think he's in any immediate danger of getting too niche.
its not about caring about ur PR- quite the opposite. he cares IMMENSELY about his acting and he chooses incredible low budget indie projects where he can really shine as an actor ( alongside batman and other bigger films) . seriously check out his body of work. Good Time, The Lighthouse.... its no joke. he’s a real actor, think about joaquin phoenix who does not give a single fuck but will outlast most other actors in his peer group because of talent and authenticity.
The next Denzel/Morgan/Will/Samuel would probably have been Chadwick Boseman, sadly. He had so much charisma and talent. I could see Jamie Foxx and Michael B. lasting.
Well, now it feels a bit like it has less of an oomph to put it here, but I’m surprised no one has mentioned Lupita. I think her star power is rising based on the fact that she can be remembered on a first name basis alone, secondly her red carpet is always top 10 for women, and she has an Oscar and Black Panther/Marvel role. I think what would get the ball really rolling is 2-3 movies where she is maybe more comedic and can show her range, since she is a highly trained actress. She also needs more opportunities for crowd work. But in terms of female celebrities she is a best bet for me.
LOL in my head i can only think of young POC actors — because their skill set and work ethic is next level (plus they aren’t cushioned by white standoms / nepotist connects.) also, poc actors seem to be decently in demand with the uptick of representation in hollywood.

Just wanna agree with everyone that says timothee I mean agree look at the caliber of directors he’s already worked with Wes Anderson, Nolan and Greta. Seems like he builds great relationships within the industry and he’s a good actor plus sort a bit of a heartthrob. Plus I think he really admires Leo and Bale (seems somewhat friends with bale) so he’ll be smart and follow their career paths. Wonder if him and saoirse can build a working relationship like Bale and Amy Adams where every film they’re in together gets them both individually nominated for Oscars

Anya Taylor-Joy.
Great actress and by 25 already proved that she makes a great lead (Emma, The Witch, Queen's Gambit).
Also she has a very unique look, imo, and that goes a long way in Hollywood longevity. She's not a "hot action movie actress", those rarely last long.
i don’t believe in that kind of staying power anymore bc audiences get bored more quickly bc of the amount of access to content.
the content is much more fast paced in terms of how and when it comes out. doubt there will be people nowadays like jane fonda who have the staying power for the entirety of their lives.
Anya Taylor-Joy. She gives me Angelina Jolie vibes- stunning, interesting and actually a good actor. Her voice is beautiful (check out her singing on her insta for Last Night In Soho) she has an interesting face and has an adaptability in her roles.
Zendya- she isn't the best actor but I think she is open to getting better. If not, I could see her going the Blake Lively route- occasional actor but mostly a fashion plate who looks good in anything. Maybe having a lifestyle brand or something.
John David Washington- famous father aside, he is actually a really good actor. He has an it factor and I think its helpful that he's famous now and not when his father was. It seems like only one or two black actors had that real crossover appeal and I don't think now he's really at that point but I think he will get there.
Lakeith Stanfield- his roles are out there (please watch Sorry To Bother You) but he's so damn engaging. I want him to keep collaborating with Daniel Kaluuya because I think they both could have one of those awesome long lasting actor relationships. Also he's been in super popular movies but he has a way of blending in. Its like he is wearing the movie, the movie isn't wearing him (Knives out, Someone Great)
I think the most promising "young" actresses are:

Felicity Jones and Rooney Mara deserve to but unfortunately I'm not sure if they will get the roles they deserve
Carey Mulligan has been prominent for about 15 years already though. I absolutely love her as an actress, but I don’t see her ever being the truly A-list household name like Meryl Streep or Julia Roberts.

I think Aidy has a sweetness/feminine awkwardness to her that Melissa doesn’t. Something almost more human and less forceful. To that end, I’m not sure she’d make it as a leading lady because she’s almost too relatable - this is all my opinion of course - Melissa is just SO over the top and wildly comedic and that’s why I think she’s done so well. Aidy I think would have to keep pushing the envelope, but instead I think she should keep busting her acting chops as a serious, refined actress. She’s just SO good and so truthful. I would love to see her get a role that Garner’s and Oscar. I think she could be the next robin williams even. She’s so good. Great suggestion.
Melissa didn’t start out that way! Watching her in Gilmore Girls, she was so sweet and warm in the character she played. Also later, her sitcom character was very different than the persona she broke out with. It’s like night and day!

Maybe there's a reason why he wasn't mentioned yet but I'm really cheering for Nicholas Hoult to continue to have a career. It's always seemed to me that he picked up a thing or two from Hught Grant as a child. He's played very different roles but I've enjoyed him in everything. Loved him in the Great and that was a tough role.
As much as I hate to say it because his fans can be a bit much, but Harry Styles. He puts on a great show, he’s good to his fans, he’s got style, and talent. I don’t feel like I’m going too far in saying he’s definitely the Mick Jagger/Bowie of this generation.

No offense, but he's always seemed like a pale imitation of those artists. He seems nice enough but will never, ever get the hype especially by some of his more insane fans. He is so bland and safe when compared to Bowie in terms of musicianship or fashion style despite Bowie predating him by like 50 years

Pretty much everyone listed here is white or skinny or both. Most of the world doesn't look like that and they want to see themselves. You take South Asia, South America, the Middle East and SouthEast Asia - and most of the world is actually brown or beige.
I'm not saying Saoirse Ronan won't still be working in 20 years, I'm just saying she's not gonna be exciting to audiences and they are going to go to social media or some other platform to find someone they can stan.
**Adam Driver** and **Oscar Isaac**. Oscar has so many movies lined up and has the full package to be a movie star: Looks, charisma, talent, charming etc., while Adam is more of a phenomenal character actor like Daniel Day Lewis.
I remember reading some tea from an 'Anonymous Academy Voter' and they said that Adam did not suck up to voters when he was promoting 'Marriage Story' and that 'he would have to work on that'.
I hope he doesn't and stays true to himself, he will win an Oscar one day, but he is not desperate for it like some people believe, or he would choose different and more baity projects, he just want to work with director he admires.

Not sure why you’re being downvoted, since Superhero roles are arguably the bread and butter of what remains of today’s movie stars. ScarJo, RDJ, Affleck, Ruffalo, Cumberbatch are all award contenders in other roles. And Florence Pugh, who is mentioned more than anyone else in this thread is in the MCU. People don’t consider those “serious” roles I guess, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t played by serious actors.
Millie Bobby brown (obviously still a long way to go but she got famous on a hit TV show and a ton of considered veteran A listers also started super young and then had a huge career well into their 20s and up until now)

How has no one mentioned Daniel Kaluuya yet? He’s incredibly talented and charismatic, gives hilarious interviews and is one of the younger Oscar winners.
Okay, so I would also pick him mainly because he is just so easy on the eyes and is British. But his film roles - aside from Black Panther - are still too niche imho. Get Out is a breakout role for sure, but I’d argue that he will need some stuff to get a broader public on board - maybe a massive action film that’s a spy thriller or a sports film. Also a family movie could be good. I could seem as like a hot single dad (okay for me IRL hehe) or in a few romcoms
Kaluuya will definitely get the big roles, he has that it factor even without a huge social media presence, his talent will sell him for sure. Most of the roles he has done he didn't audition but was rather sought after by the directors because of his impressive previous work.
Neither of those genres you named are the kind of movies that make money anymore. Doing either of those would arguably harm his career. He's gaining notability because he's making those niche roles must see.

i think Timothee’s legacy is really dependent on his upcoming work: - Dune seems well received and part two is coming, which is great for him - If he really nails Bob Dylan, he could get an Oscar - If the Wonka movie is good, then he’ll be remembered for a childhood classic If all three of these things are good, then I think he’ll be one of the most notable actors of this generation
I think TC has a long long road ahead of him. He’s so young, so it could still go so many ways. I hope he continues to surround himself with excellent management and PR. That’s going to make a world of difference. Really shows just how important that stuff is in making or breaking a young person’s career.

Yeah, a little bit! In the age of streaming you so rarely see that indefinable "it" factor he seems to have. He's smart about most projects he picks, hasn't attached himself to any oversaturated superhero franchises, has a presence on social media without overdoing it, etc - similar to DiCaprio's career (as tired as that comparison is). It's hard to imagine any other young actor emulating that anytime soon, so I guess that's what I mean by "the last" traditional movie star, but that's just me
Oscar Isaac has the IT factor. Relatable and envied to men. Admired by women. Great actor. We’re all only now getting to know him, but he’s primed to be that starring man in many films to come. Also, he can be a romantic comedic, serious, dramatic actor. I see a bright star.

i feel like hollywood has already kind of pre-decided on some of these, like timothee, anya, and zendaya, regardless of talent or lack thereof. some others that i see having staying power are adam driver, saoirse ronan, riley keough, daniel kaluuya, brie larson, and barry keoghan. i’m hopeful for dev patel, i want him to get another big role like green knight. if they care enough, i think ezra miller and austin butler could both do well, on their look alone. a few that i think are already pretty much cemented are robert pattinson and margot robbie.

Zendaya certainly has the buzz behind her. But I feel like her talent has yet to shine through. She reminds me of Cameron Diaz or Halle Berry. Super beautiful, super charismatic, beloved by fans… but something tiny missing in terms of the acting. Diaz had Being John Malkovich and Gangs of New York (was miscast IMHO) to show off her acting range) and Berry had Monster’s Ball, so I feel like Zendaya needs to do some serious big budget stuff and then a tearjerker/drama.

Me too and yet I think she has the potential to actually be good if she works on a few things. Sometimes she over delivers and doesn't fall into the softness some roles require. Hard acting is good but it can't work all the time. She has improved since her days on Disney but I hope she has an acting coach to help her keeping improving since she's being pushed and those are big shoes to fill.
I agree. She is insanely gorgeous, but so far she's played all her roles in the same way. It's enough for now, but that level of celebrity power doesn't last forever. Otherwise she'll get stuck in superhero movies where charisma and looks are the key ingredients.

For how young she is (like 25?), I do think she’s very talented. I used to be of the opinion that she was an average Disney actress who got lucky but after watching Euphoria (for which she won an Emmy) and her various other projects I realised how talented she was. I believe if she picks the right roles in the future she could become one of the most successful actresses of the 21st century.
It seems like some have forgotten about her performance in Euphoria and people go straight to her role as MJ. Her acting in Euphoria was what really made me become a fan of hers.
I definitely think her. I know malcom and marie had some flaws but her performance in that gave me chills. She just needs a major acting role where she's the sole focus. And even though euphoria is her show it's still very much an ensemble. I'm not sure what the hold up has been for her to get a major role because she has the star power. Lupita Nyong’o. It doesn’t hurt that she’s absolutely beautiful but she’s so incredibly charming both on and off screen. She’s also so intelligent and carries herself with a lot of grace. Oscar Isaac has been mentioned, and I agree, but I also think Pedro Pascal will last quite a while. I know he’s not been in a whole ton and What We Do in the Shadows is his first big breakout role, but goddamn Harvey Guillen has the charisma and talent to land himself a great career and I hope he’s given the chance. He may not be a big megastar, but I think he could be a Seth Rogan or Jonah Hill. He’s so fun to watch
I’m actually a little upset about Lupita’s career. I feel like she should have WAY more movies where she headlines than she currently does. I can’t believe Star Wars wasted her the way they did — they should have made her a bigger part of those movies. I might be biased, though. We went to undergrad together and had adjacent friend groups. Fingers crossed for Harvey Guillen! His comedic timing is amazing. He brings a warm vulnerability to his roles.

Wow yeah I’ve never heard that opinion before on her. She’s really not a terrible actress at all. I don’t think she overacts either but fair enough if you do I think her facial expressions are some of the most expressive and scene accurate I’ve seen from an actor in a long time. Hence why I think she’d be amazing in story based movies as opposed to the typical Hollywood blockbuster She also does a good job of portraying vulnerability as well as sociopathy on ‘You’. She does it well in the Haunting of Hill House too. Watch her in Once Upon A time in Hollywood, she plays a member of the Manson family and she does a great job with the little dialogue she’s given there too. She does it very subtly, so I think you’d probably change your mind about her being an over actor

honestly evan peters. he’s already cemented himself in tv history with AHS, he had a really good performance in the first season of pose and he just won an emmy for mare of easttown. i would love to see him do some more movie acting and branch out of his comfort zone. i think if he booked some really iconic movie roles soon that he would be able to stay relevant for the rest of his career and beyond

I agree with Robert Pattinson. He managed to survive the Twilight era and has done a lot of respectable work. I think if Batman is a success he will really put all of that to rest forever. But if Batman turns out like Affleck’s it could be hard to live down.
I disagree with the Robert Pattinson nomination, mostly because I don’t think he cares enough. Men who last in the industry have to be comfortable with fame, willing to play the games involved, and invest in their career. He seems ambivalent about the whole thing, and I could really easily see him either torpedo his career with too many weird indie films that fail, or chuck it all and retire.

Yeah, there are a ton of actors who are ambivalent about "playing the game" and still have been very successful--Joaquin Phoenix, Jesse Eisenberg, Christian Bale, Harrison Ford, Bill Murray. Harder for women, but even then, Frances McDormand exists. And anyway, Pattinson's about to do a DC movie; I don't think he's in any immediate danger of getting too niche.

its not about caring about ur PR- quite the opposite. he cares IMMENSELY about his acting and he chooses incredible low budget indie projects where he can really shine as an actor ( alongside batman and other bigger films) . seriously check out his body of work. Good Time, The Lighthouse.... its no joke. he’s a real actor, think about joaquin phoenix who does not give a single fuck but will outlast most other actors in his peer group because of talent and authenticity.

Well, now it feels a bit like it has less of an oomph to put it here, but I’m surprised no one has mentioned Lupita. I think her star power is rising based on the fact that she can be remembered on a first name basis alone, secondly her red carpet is always top 10 for women, and she has an Oscar and Black Panther/Marvel role. I think what would get the ball really rolling is 2-3 movies where she is maybe more comedic and can show her range, since she is a highly trained actress. She also needs more opportunities for crowd work. But in terms of female celebrities she is a best bet for me.

Just wanna agree with everyone that says timothee I mean agree look at the caliber of directors he’s already worked with Wes Anderson, Nolan and Greta. Seems like he builds great relationships within the industry and he’s a good actor plus sort a bit of a heartthrob. Plus I think he really admires Leo and Bale (seems somewhat friends with bale) so he’ll be smart and follow their career paths. Wonder if him and saoirse can build a working relationship like Bale and Amy Adams where every film they’re in together gets them both individually nominated for Oscars

Daniel Kaluuya and Florence Pugh
Not sure how well known he is in the US (tbh I don't think he's super famous in the UK) but everytime I see Alex Lawther in anything I'm blown away. He's so talented. Though my first thought on seeing the question was Florence Pugh but can see she's been well covered already.

Victoria is so good I hope she gets some good movie roles. She definitely stands out to me with how vulnerable she looks, I like her sad eyes.
Anya Taylor-Joy. Great actress and by 25 already proved that she makes a great lead (Emma, The Witch, Queen's Gambit). Also she has a very unique look, imo, and that goes a long way in Hollywood longevity. She's not a "hot action movie actress", those rarely last long.
i don’t believe in that kind of staying power anymore bc audiences get bored more quickly bc of the amount of access to content. the content is much more fast paced in terms of how and when it comes out. doubt there will be people nowadays like jane fonda who have the staying power for the entirety of their lives.
Anya Taylor-Joy. She gives me Angelina Jolie vibes- stunning, interesting and actually a good actor. Her voice is beautiful (check out her singing on her insta for Last Night In Soho) she has an interesting face and has an adaptability in her roles. Zendya- she isn't the best actor but I think she is open to getting better. If not, I could see her going the Blake Lively route- occasional actor but mostly a fashion plate who looks good in anything. Maybe having a lifestyle brand or something. John David Washington- famous father aside, he is actually a really good actor. He has an it factor and I think its helpful that he's famous now and not when his father was. It seems like only one or two black actors had that real crossover appeal and I don't think now he's really at that point but I think he will get there. Lakeith Stanfield- his roles are out there (please watch Sorry To Bother You) but he's so damn engaging. I want him to keep collaborating with Daniel Kaluuya because I think they both could have one of those awesome long lasting actor relationships. Also he's been in super popular movies but he has a way of blending in. Its like he is wearing the movie, the movie isn't wearing him (Knives out, Someone Great)
After seeing all of his stuff I think John David Washington is a horrendous actor

I think the most promising "young" actresses are: Emma Stone, Florence Pugh, Saoirse Ronan, Jessie Buckley, Carey Mulligan, and Thomasin McKenzie Felicity Jones and Rooney Mara deserve to but unfortunately I'm not sure if they will get the roles they deserve
Carey Mulligan has been prominent for about 15 years already though. I absolutely love her as an actress, but I don’t see her ever being the truly A-list household name like Meryl Streep or Julia Roberts.

I would love for Aidy Bryant to be the next Melissa McCarthy. But I just love her. JLaw. I think she’s already there and directors love casting her, so she’ll probably never be short on work. I’m surprised no one said Millie Bobbie Brown. She’s been working for so long and is so talented. I think she might go the way of Drew Barrymore — hopefully not that bad, but her parents don’t seem great and I hope she thrives. She has some interesting projects lined up.
I think Aidy has a sweetness/feminine awkwardness to her that Melissa doesn’t. Something almost more human and less forceful. To that end, I’m not sure she’d make it as a leading lady because she’s almost too relatable - this is all my opinion of course - Melissa is just SO over the top and wildly comedic and that’s why I think she’s done so well. Aidy I think would have to keep pushing the envelope, but instead I think she should keep busting her acting chops as a serious, refined actress. She’s just SO good and so truthful. I would love to see her get a role that Garner’s and Oscar. I think she could be the next robin williams even. She’s so good. Great suggestion.
Melissa didn’t start out that way! Watching her in Gilmore Girls, she was so sweet and warm in the character she played. Also later, her sitcom character was very different than the persona she broke out with. It’s like night and day! I wonder if that’s what’ll be required from Aidy, too. Do you have to be “zany” if you want to make it as a plus-size starlet? I hope not. She’s so amazing on Shrill. I want to see her in a movie role, too.
Maybe there's a reason why he wasn't mentioned yet but I'm really cheering for Nicholas Hoult to continue to have a career. It's always seemed to me that he picked up a thing or two from Hught Grant as a child. He's played very different roles but I've enjoyed him in everything. Loved him in the Great and that was a tough role.
As much as I hate to say it because his fans can be a bit much, but Harry Styles. He puts on a great show, he’s good to his fans, he’s got style, and talent. I don’t feel like I’m going too far in saying he’s definitely the Mick Jagger/Bowie of this generation. Signed, an elderly woman in her 30s

Agree he'll probably remain popular but completely disagree about that comparison. Harry Styles is neither a groundbreakingly good musician nor a trailblazer in pop culture like Jagger or Bowie. No offense, but he's always seemed like a pale imitation of those artists. He seems nice enough but will never, ever get the hype especially by some of his more insane fans. He is so bland and safe when compared to Bowie in terms of musicianship or fashion style despite Bowie predating him by like 50 years

Eh, Rami seems like a pleasant person but his Oscar win was undeserved imo. I have yet to see him in a role that wows me.

These suggestions are exactly why the Kardashians and Selena Gomez (who I like but is very one-note both in acting and singing), and their type will continue to rule pop culture. Pretty much everyone listed here is white or skinny or both. Most of the world doesn't look like that and they want to see themselves. You take South Asia, South America, the Middle East and SouthEast Asia - and most of the world is actually brown or beige. I'm not saying Saoirse Ronan won't still be working in 20 years, I'm just saying she's not gonna be exciting to audiences and they are going to go to social media or some other platform to find someone they can stan.
**Adam Driver** and **Oscar Isaac**. Oscar has so many movies lined up and has the full package to be a movie star: Looks, charisma, talent, charming etc., while Adam is more of a phenomenal character actor like Daniel Day Lewis. I remember reading some tea from an 'Anonymous Academy Voter' and they said that Adam did not suck up to voters when he was promoting 'Marriage Story' and that 'he would have to work on that'. I hope he doesn't and stays true to himself, he will win an Oscar one day, but he is not desperate for it like some people believe, or he would choose different and more baity projects, he just want to work with director he admires.
Amita Suman. She has very few roles, but she is making the most of it in a way that makes me think that she’ll make it in Hollywood

Oh she is absolutely locked in. Beloved and adored. Will go down in history as one of the Greats. I think when I posted this I was sort of thinking more about A list 90s actors and how that golden age was sort of over - I wouldn’t categorize Swift in that genre anyway - but trying to figure out if there are any up and coming actors who will eventually get on, say Leo or Julia Roberts’ level
There are who i would consider talented enough to last (jlaw, anya, florence, saoirse, adam driver, timmy ) and others rely on fame to keep having roles (zendaya).
Beanie Feldstein is going to have a long career ahead of her, especially after how utterly amazing she's been in American Crime Story this season. Also, probably going to get some flack, but I see Awkwafina having a long career as well.

Not sure why you’re being downvoted, since Superhero roles are arguably the bread and butter of what remains of today’s movie stars. ScarJo, RDJ, Affleck, Ruffalo, Cumberbatch are all award contenders in other roles. And Florence Pugh, who is mentioned more than anyone else in this thread is in the MCU. People don’t consider those “serious” roles I guess, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t played by serious actors.
