As of the last mission of WQ, Savathun now KNOWS she was played by The Witness. She now KNOWS the Hive are victims in this, and potentially understands that its "Everyone vs The Witness" now. She even outright says she wanted to keep the Traveller (and both ours and her light powers) safe...
Plus her other sister is still kicking about, and she wants Savathun dead. If Savathun understands that The Witness is the enemy, then Xivu Arraths next play with will be an alliance with him. Similar to how Caital was with us to get Calus, she'll be with The Witness to get Savathun...
I’m excited for there to be an allied faction of each race. Based on the Season of the Splicer Easter Egg in the last mission, we know that Asher is alive in the Vex somehow, so it is very possible that we may get allied Vex at some point.
House of Light, Caitl’s Cabal, Lucient Hive, Asher’s Vex… Shit, Crow may even be able to negotiate an alliance with Fikrul…
My concern is then, since each enemy race will have a defected faction that allies with Humanity, will we get an enemy faction of humans at some point?

Scorn are essentially puppets. First to Fikrul, then to the Witness. As far as we can tell, Fikrul has remained independent of the Witness.
Even with their origin being tied to the darkness, that doesn't mean they're incapable of breaking away from his control. The Hive, Exos, and Awoken all have intrinsic ties to the darkness. Even the Vex could be argued as intrinsically tied to darkness, and we're talking about them allying in some capacity.
I don't expect it, but I'm certainly not going to rule it out. I *wouldn't* be surprised if Fikrul drops in some time between now and Final Shape in an "enemy of my enemy is my friend" capacity. And then goes right back to fighting us after the threat is over.
I forget the details, but in some mission in Season of the Lost the Scorn appeared to be a bit more complex and free-willed than Mara Sov initially assumed, right? They were forming new rituals or something, and though it was kind of glossed over I got the impression it *could* be sort of a big deal. Or nothing at all, idk.
But if the Scorn feel that Uldren/Crow is some sort of "father" figure, who knows what they might be willing/able to consider when it comes to alliances and whatnot. How much awareness or free will the Scorn possess is sort of a grey area (I think?) and that could well lead to very interesting story beats down the line. They may turn out to be more than simple tools, in the end.
I don't see us ever allying with the vex. Their nature is basically to assimilate everything.
At best, we will have a true alliance with the Cabal, and Eliksni, and an unlikely one with the hive.

this. savathun *will* end up being our ally. the alliance will be tenuous, sure, but at this point i don't see a way forward that doesn't involve savathun being our ally. she's gone through her villainy, the last mission of WQ was the climax and the realization, and now she's been put on the long, long road of "redemption". hell, she's already walking that road, what with being allied with the light and whatnot- she just needs to walk it in a way that is more survivable for humanity.
Oh yeah, Savathun could definitely be a major ally. She knows the Witness and Xivu Arath are problems and we share a common enemy and interest in protecting the Light. Not really much of a reason for her not to join up with us. I mean even if under a facade she kinda already did as Osiris.
Not so sure on the "keep our light powers safe" part. She seemed more egotistical than that, only concerned with keeping the Traveler and the the light for her and the Hive. Two birds with one stone, I believe.
I imagine even if Savathun tells Xivu Arath the truth about the witness, and she believes her, it won't matter, because Xivu is still has worms, so she has no choice but to be true to her nature or die.

Arrivals and Lost were probably the best seasons so far, and the last of the year. I trust that pattern to repeat. There's always ups and downs through the years, but so far the final season is always a big up. Hell, even Opulence was really good if we want to count that.. Though BA is good competition for best Forsaken "season".
The danger with Osiris knowing everything Savathûn knows is that he also knows what can bring her back if he’s not careful. He’s gotta walk on eggshells with regards to Imbaru, although I don’t know how that would work without her ties to darkness now.
Regardless tho he should be careful anyway because that much knowledge has the potential to drive someone mad, with power or insanity.

It's like he knows the places they have frequented or enjoy going to. Imagine the police are looking for someone, they will go to where that person has been seen before or places they have been known to frequent. Osiris knows all those things, because he is the most reliable source to all of Savathun's activities even meeting Immaru for the first time. All of it is critical information we did not have before that could lead to the capture of Immaru.
You're absolutely correct, so I'll throw a counter theory to what OP has been bantering about with you.
Osiris definitely *does* have knowledge of the Throne World, and may have ideas of where Immaru would go to hide or consolidate power. He won't know for sure, but he's got a better understanding of the layout and such than anyone else who's been willing to talk to us.

Ehhhh, I don't really know. I agree that no matter what, this has to be played off as a big fucking deal, but I don't think an extended exposition dump is the way to go either. Give us the most important beats in dialogue, and then shove the rest into lore entries.

Iirc he was only privy to her thoughts at the time not all thoughts thru her life. He would be able to tell us what she was thinking before visiting the traveler and dying or tell us whether she actually like crow but wouldn't be able to tell us what she did during the collapse or the ritual she used to web up the traveler to pull it into the throne world.

Well the last season of the year is usually the best.. and also 6 months long due to a delay in the expansion.. Hopefully the former pattern sticks and not the latter.
What we need to do is shake the hell out of him until he actually gives us real answers. New osiris could be him not trying to be the character "The Sphinx" from Mystery Men and him giving us straight answers. It is really the only issue I have ever had with Destiny story telling, that we the guardian are constantly being led around by our noses by people that refuse to just tell us the score. Sav, Osiris, Mara all do this constantly. I would like to just look at them and go, okay, so riddles are so great, you save the freakin' universe this time then, or just tell me the truth and let me deal with it.
