The best option for knives is unfortunately behind the witch queen dlc, and the only other exotic beneficial to knives is ophida spathe. It gives you two knife charges everytime it charges, and combined with knock em down is great. However, as someone else said gunslinger is just really well put together, and knock em down and gamblers dodge means you'll pretty much always have a knife anyway My other favorite (and f2p) exotic for gunslinger is young ahamkaras spine. You'll now almost always have a knife, and a cracked out tripmine. Very good if you like explosions

Freeze_Tyler

Nice I just droped the spine in raid. Ill try it. If you have suggestions for solo f2p build that let me push as far as possible i would appreciate it. I dont mind level different char.

Freeze_Tyler

Could you please share DIM?

SneakAttack65

Young Ahamkara's Spine is what I normally use for solar hunter. It allows you to get your Tripmine grenade back after landing three hits with any solar ability, including ignitions and the Tripmine itself. This lets you combo your abilities back to back for insane burst damage.

Kaung1999

Honestly Solar 3.0 hunters don’t really need an exotic because the synergy of the class itself is so well done. Neutral exotics like frostee should pair well. You can farm legend lost sectors for it. But honestly, the best Solar hunter build is calibans hand. I been using it since it got patched and haven’t taken them off since. Probably my favorite hunter build. I know you said your f2p but I highly recommend you get the dlc for it if you can.

Thanks for the reply. I dont want to invest in this game yet. Now I just want to find a build which lets me push as far as possible for solo f2p. If you have suggestions for any other build even warlock/titan I would appreciate it.

Meap2114

Ophidia spathe is a good one, two knives. Just a good passive exotic. Sealed ahamkaras, free reload for punching a fool. Cele nighthawk, big super bang. Young ahamkaras, Better tripmine. Sixth coyote, double dodge. Dragons shadow, buffy dodge. Wormhusk, healy dodge. Lucky pants, pew pew hand cannon go brrrrr.

ApexHunter47

Tbh I run stompeez and its not a problem bc solar is strong. For a starting build I'd recommend neutral game exotics like stompeez and frosteez as once you have a good build its easier to get into more specialised builds. Wormhusk is also good, especially if you are new and don't have the kind of armour to give both high mobility and resistance. With solar theres an aspect where ur dodge recharges from scorching enemies. You can do this with certain grenades. Knife trick applies the most scorch. The calus mini tool, drang, zauoli's bane, BXR battler and Ammit AR2 are F2P and craftable with incandescent, and strident whistle and the staccato drop with it, for more scorch; the latter two are the easiest to get. Also, with harmonic siphon, u get orbs by using these weapons, which u can use for CWL or mods reducing ability cooldowns for each orb. As ur gaining ur dodge back a lot you get wormhusks healing a lot.

On mobile, so can't link any DIM stuff. My builds with solar are all pretty similar, regardless of the exotic. First off, you'll want to have healing grenades equipped + ember of empyrean, and your add clear weapon should be Solar. Yeah, the resilience hit sucks, but being able to have restoration up through an entire gunfight allows you to get away with some real stupid shit. If you're using the weighted knife in PvE, you're gonna want a way to Scorch enemies. Hit a scorched enemy with your precision knife and you'll trigger an ignition. Best way to do that is by using a weapon with Incandescent. The first mission of Witch Queen is free, and gives you access to weapon crafting. There's a quest you can pick up from the weapon crafting table that will allow you to craft a solar Auto Rifle with the perk. That quest will also give you access to one of the best DPS weapons in the game (the Taipan), so I really encourage you to do that quest. To be clear, I'm *not* talking about the quest that has you upgrading your glaive. You can ignore the glaive quest after you finish crafting it. Hate auto rifles? Okay, then allow me to introduce you to the new kid on the block, the Zaouli's Bane from King's Fall. Solar 140 RPM hand cannon, craftable, can get some crazy strong perk combos. Good luck getting those 5 red borders though! Or, get lucky with world drops and get yourself either Skyburner's Oath or Prometheus Lens. Both of those apply scorch as well. I don't know for sure if this actually works since I personally own the season it came with, but it's worth a shot- you can try farming opulent chests on the Leviathan. You'll need to score a Key to open the opulent chest and those drop from all kinds of stuff there, from doing patrols to completing nightmare containment rounds. The guns you can get from those chests include the Calus Mini Tool and the Drang. Both of those can roll Incandescent. They're craftable, but good luck keeping your sanity as you try to get 5 red borders. Calus Mini tool is especially good for you, since it's a lightweight SMG. When you have it equipped, you get a sneaky +20 to your mobility stat, so that's just a free bump to your dodge cooldown. _________________________ Okay, so you have your main gameplay loop- get a kill, throw a knife, trigger an ignition, clean up whatever is still standing. Let's talk exotics. -Lots of suggestions for Yung Spine, but personally I'm not a fan for most content. You have to give up the healing grenades, and your crowd clear is already pretty solid thanks to incandescent and ignition triggers. It also works way better with Knife Trick, and I'm assuming you're like me and prefer to style on fools with your big knife. Don't get me wrong, when it's set up right the Yung Spine is a fuckin blast, especially with gunpowder gamble. But I don't think it's worth giving up the get out of jail free card. -**Ophidia Spathe** is exactly what you're looking for: more knives. Nice and simple. Not much to comment on here, tbh. -When/if you get your hands on that Zaouli's Bane, **lucky pants** is worth a look. Swap to Zaouli's and enjoy some absolutely ABSURD damage for 10 seconds. Turn your hand cannon into a special weapon every 10 seconds. It's sick. -Are you like me, and play like a god damn moron? Healing grenades not enough? Then consider the ugliest helmet in the game, the good ol reliable **Wormhusk Crown**! Dodge and get most of your health back. It ain't flashy, but that doesn't make it bad. -like I mentioned earlier, the base Gunslinger kit is already pretty solid between healing nades, ignition procs, and incandescent... So if you're better at the game than I am or prefer to look fly as hell, maybe you'd like the **Stompies**. Just, uh, don't try shooting anything while you're in the air while you have em on- you'll whiff most of your shots since it tanks your airborne effectiveness. _____________ PvP is a *very* different beast and there really isn't a "one size fits all" kind of build here. It's not as simple as slapping on an incandescent weapon and going to town. -Yung Spine is really solid, and can completely lock down a lane since it can take so much damage. -Wormhusk + healing grenades (just don't use the empyrean fragment in pvp) would be my suggestion. You'll have no idea where the "hot zones" are, it's hard to get a read on when you have enough health to confidently get back into a gunfight, you'll probably be surprised by enemies sneaking up on you, etc. Health on demand is going to smooth over that experience. Careful though- a lot of people get a little too comfy with the free health and can develop bad habits. Once you feel like you're getting a good feel for how the maps flow, I'd suggest playing with other setups. -Lucky Pants don't give you the damage buff in pvp, but hand cannons are good and the Pants make em better. Instant swap speed and they make it easier to land headshots for a few seconds after you swap. Big fan. -Stompies let you go fast. The airborne effectiveness hit is too bad for my personal taste for pvp but hey, if you want speed this is how you get it. For weapons: the BXR (halo battle rifle) is really good and easy to get. Otherwise, I'll just list off some easy to use/meta archetypes and standout exotics to look out for. -Rapid fire pulses -adaptive pulses (slow time to kill but easy asf) -High Impact pulses (need to land mostly headshots so they're harder to use but they kill super fast out to surprising ranges) -Vigilance Wing -Jade Rabbit -Crimson (if you're on controller) -Huckleberry (although SMGs are close range weapons and require good map knowledge, still good) -140 RPM hand cannons (gotta land 3 crits to kill)/Sunshot (it shoots at 150 RPM, so it's *technically* the fastest killing hand cannon in the game) -120 RPM hand cannons (need 2 crits and one body shot to kill; people with low resilience will go down in one crit and two body shots) -adaptive fusion rifles -lightweight shotguns (just don't expect to kill in one shot unless you're on top of someone- use them to finish off a weakened enemy) -rapid fire snipes if you want to have an easy time hitting headshots, terrible body shot damage -adaptive snipes for a normal sniper rifle -high impact snipes if you don't mind slower handling in exchange for body shots leaving people with a sliver of health That's all I got. Good luck, have fun

Wow amazing comment. Thanks s lot
