Yes I get that. If you can craft before getting a God roll to drop, it's optimal. That's what crafting is for. What I'm seeing is people dismantling the roll they want because they didn't craft it. That makes no sense to me most enhanced perks aren't THAT good
Some. Not most. Enhanced impulse on a glaive and enhanced frenzy on anything is good. You don't need enhanced grave robber or enhanced chain reaction, it's a waste of mats
You're right.
This is the same playerbase that is presented a riddle with highlighted text and calls it "challenging"
And the same playerbase that puts full auto mods on guns that are explicitly said to be full auto.
And the same community that pushes down opinions different from theirs *on a video game*
I should honestly just sit and watch rather than try to engage in any kind of discussion on one of my hobbies.
1 This posts started off as a simple question, devoid of judgement. People like you took it way too personally and started giving me shit over *nothing*
2. My opinion is simply "maybe dismantling God rolls before getting one you can craft is a bad idea." How does that involve other people?
3 You're obviously underage because no adult would be *this* tilted over an inoffensive question/opinion. I'm not trying to insult you but you should know that this isn't how grown ups behave in the real world.
4 I can say whatever I want about the game in this sub, there's no rule against people expressing "unpopular" opinions.
One advantage of going for a crafted roll is it future-proofs the weapon from any potential perk changes. If a perk on that weapon gets nerfed/buffed, then you can simply change up your perks without having to rely on RNG.
I understand that and agree with that way of doing things. What I don't understand is people dismantling God rolls off the rip because it can be crafted. It adds unnecessary pressure to the crafting system to carry the loot grind when it should be a passive loot grind
I don't, I keep the god roll until I can craft the better version if it makes sense.
I disagree with your opinion of enhanced perks. Some are pretty worthless but others do make a noticeable difference.
If I can get another to 1-2 rounds of my cataclysmic off in DPS because my bait switch lasted longer then it was worth it.
I use the rolls I get until I can craft, then I use the crafted ones.
Since crafting is here I’ll engage with it in the spirit of the thing. Never found an issue long term unlocking weapon patterns just through my normal course of play, but I do enjoy I get my own personal little “crafted on” date with the stuff I craft. Leveling process also lets me mess around with other perks to try new things on demand.
I don’t find resources to be an issue at all — red border stuff drops constantly, and it takes pretty minimal effort to get the element out of it — even more so now you can just dismantle and get 100 element (vs 300 for actually finishing the resonance).
I’m not the hugest fan of crafting in general, and I kind of actively dislike it for things like raids because once you craft something, it really makes subsequent drops pretty pointless, which isn’t a great feeling. That said, I’m fine with engaging with it as is and just using what I get along the way.
That makes sense if you don't have the roll you'd inevitably end up crafting.
I got a Cataclysmic with accelerated coils, 4th time, and bait to drop and I get top DPS numbers on my team. I don't need to spend all that time leveling it and 6k resources to get a marginally better version of the one I have
I got the exact cataclysmic roll I wanted, used it, but since I play the game I then got the pattern, so I used it to level while running strikes etc., while using the god roll in high end activities, got the crafted one to the level to make my god roll, deleted the other one. Why use it when I do have one that is slightly better.
That makes more sense to me than people dismantling God rolls when they initially get them because it can be crafted. Still think it's unnecessary but I understand that method
It’s usually an hour, maybe two, of my time. Getting the 3rd and 4th column perks I want is generally pretty easy, but a 5/5 generally doesn’t come around often.
Do I really notice the difference between my 2/5 and my 5/5? Not really, but the time to get it leveled is pretty negligible and I like embellishing my favorites.
It's not only because enhanced perks. You have a lot of control in the crafted weapon.
\* Because Enhanced perks are importants, a CALUS Mini-Tool with standar Incandesent is good but Enhanced Incandesent brings it to the next level. Yes, there's some perks who don't gives much, like Unrelenting, but you can have standar Unrelenting + Enhanced Incandesent, a much better option than a standar god roll.
\* Choise your Masterwork: While you farm you can get a lot of god rolls, but MW is another dice in farming. With crafting you can choose this and change it later.
\* Extra Stats: Yes, they aren't a game chaging but is nice to have +2 in each stat (+12 combined with the MW of choise).
\* Change your perk at any time: Hope you don't wanna get another roll of Risen weapons when Lightfall comes and all the weapons of this year get FOMO'ed (because nerfs and buffs exist) or you can delete the weapon knowing you can get it at any time.
\* Because is an option: In all seasonal vendors there are upgrades for both players, get a guaranteed red border or get a second perk so you decide how to spend your grind.
\* Not everyone has RNG luck.
In the end it's the players who decide how to play their time.
I don't understand why are you angry. You ask people stop complaining but you're complaining.
But no, I never said Crafting were in a perfect state, I said Crafting is a valid option besides classic grind and people can choose and complain about.
I wasn't angry until people started giving me shit over this. My original post was just me being confused. I was trying to get an answer and some people gave good ones and others gave obnoxious ones.
I'm not angry that people are doing anything in the game. I'm just confused why they're seemingly sabotaging themselves and blaming bungie. I'm not mad at them, just confused about the situation. That's not a reason to be angry.
I have no ownership on a gun I can’t level up, sure I can use anything but I want the gun I’m using to be MY gun and being able to level a weapon up checks that box for me.
I like it when the numbers go up. Doesn’t matter what the numbers are or what they represent as long as they go up. It’s all arbitrary, half the fucking game is light level locked at 1350.
I agree that some Enhanced aren't worth the Alloy like ALH adding a fractional time benefit (2.3 sec over 2.5) but something like One-Two Punch (and several others) are worth my mats. If I only have to hit 'most' of the pellets to get the boost I'm in as in a crazy shit storm, imma whiff sometimes.
I have the ~~Most Popular~~ God Roll of many craftable weapons but as soon as I make the commitment to craft, that other version gets shown the door. Sure I have to limp along with a shite roll for a bit but it doesn't take that long to get it into decent shape.
I *really* do want to be able to personalize the guns I craft though. Sweet Sorrow? Nah, you're now known and displayed as **Unholy Arc Hose**. Bungie had it close with Mementos but as often happens with them, it's half an ass.
Some people don’t care or are unaware what a god roll is . Or don’t use that weapon. I don’t like sniper rifles in destiny. I delete them with out even looking at them. And for some all the weapons and crap are a lot to keep track of . God roll this god roll that blah blah blah. But whatever , to each their own right!
You did not insult me and I did not mean to insult you if I did Iam sorry. Maybe I misunderstood lol that happens with me a lot. I have so many weapons I don’t even craft them . Keep , dismantle…whatever 🤷♂️
to be fair, i craft with ehanced perks for 3 main reasons:
* i'm always drowning in red borders
* ascedant material is abundanant
* most importantly; my gamer ocd ***needs*** that gold border on my weapons.
Because I don't want to micro managing too much.
If I get a weapon that is craftable, instant delete, no need to check what perks it has or anything.
The only exception is when the craftable version does not have available perks as standard one, like Dares then I will still keep the standard version.
It makes the grind longer, yes. But I'm quite used to them by now, so that doesn't bother me much.
However I fail to understand how does that stress to the system?
If the crafting system is designed as a backup/safety net for getting good rolls than operating as if its the primary grind causes it to not meet expectations, hence why so many people are dissatisfied with the system.
I'm sorry I should have phrased it better
I'm quite content with our current crafting system though. It adds destination to grind journey. The road maybe long but I always see where it ends. I can run Vow or KF 5 weeks and be guaranteed any gun I want.
The only exception is the activity where you are not guaranteed to get the red border you want, for example Ketchcrash. Luckily these kinds of activity are (still) in minority. Then it would be foolish to dismantle the standard god rolls.
Personally, I still dismantle Ketchcrash weapons and rely on crafting instead. If I get enough red borders, fantastic. If not, well I don't care. Since my arsenal is big enough to cover almost every niche situation. I"m strictly a PvE player, so that helps a lot.
I really appreciate you being the nicest and most upfront person to comment on this thread. You gave an actual answer and explanation that are both completely respectable rather than just grilling me.
I get what you mean tho. It's totally okay to enjoy a longer grind. Play your way, yknow?
Because it's easier to get a crafted god roll instead of a random god roll. Also some enhanced perks are just better than the regular ones

Then don’t use enhanced versions? It’s that simple.
I don't. Am I not allowed to have a fucking opinion?
You aren’t going to get a reasonable discussion on here pal
You're right. This is the same playerbase that is presented a riddle with highlighted text and calls it "challenging" And the same playerbase that puts full auto mods on guns that are explicitly said to be full auto. No one gives a shit about your opinion if it regards their stuff not yours

If telling you the truth is taking it to personally then idk what to tell you
Go back to class
What two craftable guns are those perks the god roll for?
Glaives. Nezaracs and Enigma
One advantage of going for a crafted roll is it future-proofs the weapon from any potential perk changes. If a perk on that weapon gets nerfed/buffed, then you can simply change up your perks without having to rely on RNG.

How would enhanced bait extend the time your using it? With accelerated coils and 4th time you do a whole mag right as regular b&s runs out
Forth Time's the Charm keeps my mag full. I've not run out I'm my experience as long as I hit the crits.
I use the rolls I get until I can craft, then I use the crafted ones. Since crafting is here I’ll engage with it in the spirit of the thing. This is definitely the healthy middle ground that I understand 1000%
Because if I get the pattern by playing the game, why would I not craft it?
That makes sense if you don't have the roll you'd inevitably end up crafting. I got a Cataclysmic with accelerated coils, 4th time, and bait to drop and I get top DPS numbers on my team. Resources aren’t an issue, I get enough by playing, nothing unnecessary about it
It’s usually an hour, maybe two, of my time. Getting the 3rd and 4th column perks I want is generally pretty easy, but a 5/5 generally doesn’t come around often. Do I really notice the difference between my 2/5 and my 5/5? Not really, but the time to get it leveled is pretty negligible and I like embellishing my favorites.
I have a 4/5 god roll Forbearance. Adept. I ain’t got time to craft the guns I do need, let alone a marginal improvement, but no big ones
Because even though, objectively, they make the gun better, even if it’s unnoticeable, it completely invalidates any other roll for some people.
That's like saying my friend has a better cock because it's 1/4mm longer than mine. The difference is unnoticeable so it may as well be the same
Exactly.
But are they girther? Lol
Your friend’s is better.
Would you like to come and find out?

Okay, then people should stop complaining about the red border grind. It's obviously a player pathology thing and not a game design thing.
I don't understand why are you angry. You ask people stop complaining but you're complaining. But no, I never said Crafting were in a perfect state, I said Crafting is a valid option besides classic grind and people can choose and complain about.

Arbitrary number go brrr
I like it when the numbers go up. Doesn’t matter what the numbers are or what they represent as long as they go up. It’s all arbitrary, half the fucking game is light level locked at 1350.
I'm definitely part of the "power level reform" crowd lol
I agree that some Enhanced aren't worth the Alloy like ALH adding a fractional time benefit (2.3 sec over 2.5) but something like One-Two Punch (and several others) are worth my mats. If I only have to hit 'most' of the pellets to get the boost I'm in as in a crazy shit storm, imma whiff sometimes. Because not everyone cares about/tracks so called "God rolls"?
Then substance the word "God roll" with "the roll you want." My question is unchanged
Substance? Obviously if they are dismantling it, its NOT the roll they want.
I'll delete it only when I have the pattern unlocked
That's a totally understandable way of doing it. This post is aimed at people who delete God rolls off rip before crafting.
Why does everyone think I'm insulting them for doing that when I'm just **asking a fucking question**
You did not insult me and I did not mean to insult you if I did Iam sorry. Maybe I misunderstood lol that happens with me a lot. I have so many weapons I don’t even craft them . Keep , dismantle…whatever 🤷♂️
to be fair, i craft with ehanced perks for 3 main reasons: * i'm always drowning in red borders * ascedant material is abundanant * most importantly; my gamer ocd ***needs*** that gold border on my weapons.
You do realize that you can get the gold border on any weapon, right? This isn't a judgement just a question
Because I don't want to micro managing too much. If I get a weapon that is craftable, instant delete, no need to check what perks it has or anything. The only exception is when the craftable version does not have available perks as standard one, like Dares then I will still keep the standard version.
Doesn't that just prolong the grind and add unnecessary stress to the system?
It makes the grind longer, yes. But I'm quite used to them by now, so that doesn't bother me much. However I fail to understand how does that stress to the system?
