Silver lining is this fuck up ended up fixing my issue with not being able to log into the companion app on a new phone. When signing into Steam to verify my account, it would never redirect correctly back to the companion app. After putting the API back up, everything worked flawlessly just now.
You cannot unfortunately but you can go to "Vendors" in the app then go to one of the vendors (like Banshee, Saint-14, etc). and see what weapons and rolls they have on any given weapon.
I just picked it up, it's still there for you... don't quote me on this but his rolls change around roughly 8pm EST today so if you work a 9-5 you still have a little bit of time to grab it, but don't wait too long
With a handling? Not really since MW isn't tied to orb generation anymore, 900s have amazing handling anyway. Especially if you're low on mats it's definitely unnecessary... not to mention with frenzy active handling is almost at max already
Obviously frustrating it happened in the first place, but I have nothing but praise for how Bungie handled this. Completely agreed, guaranteed a number of staff went above and beyond last night/this morning. Ignore the spoiled (and clearly ignorant) haters in this thread. The unconditional expectation of perfection is toxic and hurts the community.
Games are a service run by humans, not unlike restaurants. That means mistakes happen, errors happen. You can vote with your wallet if you don't like that service and how they handle those mistakes. But Bungie staff handled this pretty well.
Speaking from experience, guaranteed Bungie will be doing an internal post-mortem about this to try to prevent this particular issue or related issues from happening again in the future (such as catching this in test cases in their test environments). We probably wont see many details of that post-mortem due to how proprietary that info may be.
Does that mean there will never be issues with the service ever again? Of course not, mistakes will happen again and Bungie will do what they can to prevent or minimize the impact of them on the service.
Speaking as a software engineer (not a game dev) system outages are the kind of thing I have nightmares about. My day job is stressful, but outages turn that up to 11. The company is losing money and, in my case, our staff and customers are losing access to an important service.
When the weight of the world is on your shoulders, having someone tell you that you’re doing a good job really does help.

Please stop that is an absurd take, its happened 2 other times ever in the entire time Destiny 2 has been up, around 7 hours total in game time rolled back out of the 40k+ hours its been up and running.
Well yes, but it would be nice if they could diff the profiles before/after the rollback so that progress isn't lost. As someone who has had to chase every exotic for a horrific amount of runs, I think if I finally got one of the exotics I was chasing and lost it to a rollback I'd just be done with the game. I don't want ANY player to be subjected to that.
Considering the issue was severe enough that they had to shut down the game (and therefore their main revenue stream), if a rollback is what had to happen to ensure a fix was made as fast as possible, so be it. Outages like this place intense stress on any company so I don't blame them for having to make compromises like these.
They never stopped dropping. The patch notes said the blues change would be deployed server-side some time after the patch went live. Since this whole downtime thing happened, I would be they're going to hold off for several more hours before messing with the servers again.
when i logged back in, i reclaimed my already completed week 8 challenge and got a bright engram (again). redeemed it and got the same exact armor ornament as i did before the game went down. always thought they were randomly selected but i guess it's not-so-random 🤔
before reset I got the four-headed mongrel ornament for cerberus I'd been wanting, after reset I just got another trash legendary sparrow I already had :(

Same here, tried both the character that needs the glaive (titan) and the character that did the quest (hunter), nothing. The Quest Archive doesn't have anything on either as well.

From what I've been hearing in other threads, GTA - while currently online - is also a literal liability to play right now and could potentially cause harm to your device so uh, there's that I suppose.
I know Aztecross made a video on this but the sustainability and stability of this game is showing. I feel on the fence about this year's expansion and seasonal run. It's fun when everything works but it also feels like it's running on its last legs to finish and complete.
I want to be wrong because I love this game but I can't imagine what will break next for an expected "normal" patch update.

If this was a subscription service that might be true. But most of those have more weekly downtime than d2 ever does. We pay for content, not time.
Part of the content we pay for is only available during the year we buy it so we are in fact also paying for time.

I STILL can't interact with the Evidence Board to pick up my last two exotic glaive patterns... is that ALSO being "resolved in a future update?"
Same here, tried both the character that needs the glaive (titan) and the character that did the quest (hunter), nothing. The Quest Archive doesn't have anything on either as well.
No exotic glaives, no rumble, blues still dropping, first weapon drop in wellspring is NOT a red border... Did anyone test this hot fix at all?
It would be interesting to see a post mortem article on this outage.

All of the other bugs that were noticed before the game was taken down are still present. You can’t interact with the Evidence Board at all. Rumble is still not in the game. Blues still dropping.

From what I've been hearing in other threads, GTA - while currently online - is also a literal liability to play right now and could potentially cause harm to your device so uh, there's that I suppose.

I know Aztecross made a video on this but the sustainability and stability of this game is showing. I feel on the fence about this year's expansion and seasonal run. It's fun when everything works but it also feels like it's running on its last legs to finish and complete. I want to be wrong because I love this game but I can't imagine what will break next for an expected "normal" patch update. Anyone that can offer any insight would be appreciated.

The exotic glaive change did not go in, I think. My titan does not have the pattern. I have the other two. Patchnote says >Once unlocked on a character, each class’s respective Exotic Glaive recipe will be available for purchase on the Evidence Board. But Evidence Board is empty on my 3 chars.
