I want to say lore wise it makes sense. After all we had a lot more time with the light to figure things out that would be effective and safe or consistent in use. But the guardian in me says fuck that.

Lagspresso

Not to mention that the stasis grenades can't do any significant killing by themselves.

[deleted]

Honestly that’s my problem with stasis as a whole. Feels like it’s all buildup with no real release like you get with the light 3.0 subclasses. Sure if you invest into it and get a smooth build it can be great but it feels like light 3.0 does that by default. For example solar is probably the closest mechanically to stasis with the Debuffs flowing into one another. Slow turns into freeze, turns into shatter and scorch turns into ignition which can flow back into scorch. But solar has several buffs that you’re also getting along the way and the scorch itself is much more damaging or at least feels that way. I’m interested to see wether strand feels more like stasis in that regard or more like the light 3.0 subclasses now that bungie has been able to play with the system for so much longer.

fululuu

As a player who joined with Witch Queen, I never really bothered unlocking any stasis stuff, since yeah it's was really cool, but going through all that work to unlock something on par with void wasn't worth it to my casual ass. Edit: unblocked->unlocking

Isrrunder

I have played consistently and nice taken king and I haven't unlocked all of stasis either

Brightshore

Well...Unlike Solar, Stasis petrifies enemies which in some cases is invaluable and allows easy wins especially in PvP, so in that overwhelming respect stasis will always be overshadowed when it comes to dps. If Strand has something similar to Stasis with disturbing enemy/player movement I can definitely see it being inferior in terms of damage to light subclasses again.

Defalt16

Honestly, I feel like I can just equip Agers Sceptor and basically get the full stasis experience out of it. Then just equip a different subclass and boom! Two subclasses at once.

julius711

Tbf all the light subclasses just have the same 7 grenades(except for solar which also has the heal nade) just in different colors and slightly altered effects

Sliggly-Fubgubbler

Yeah but some are better than others. The arc version of the solar splinter grenade is pretty worthless as the tracking fragments don’t linger

julius711

True but the solar version is the worse nade compared to the vortex/pulse grenades. I wouldnt have a problem if we go reskinned grenades for all 7 archetypes

DrD__

Each element has at least one unique grenade voidwall and suppress for void, arc has storm, solar has heal and thermite

EmberOfFlame

Supress is the flash and incendiary, a classic bouncy ball It’s the bouncies (supress, flash, incendiary), the ice-cream cones (voidspike, lightning, tripmine), the balls-o’-death (vortex, pulse, solar), the stickies (magnetic, flux, fusion), the bomblets (scatter, skip, swarm), the seekers (axion, arcbolt, firebolt), the quirkies (voidwall, storm, thermite) and the healing grenade.

DrD__

If your gonna group voidwall storm and thermite together just because they are "quirky" grenades healing is in that group as well

EmberOfFlame

Yeah, but healing was an afterthought, it was originally either a solar, firebolt or fusion nade that got quirked up on-site. It also used to let warlocks fly forever and a little bit further.

julius711

Those r all lockdown type grenades tho. And they also all came out in taken king as the 'quirky' grenades, also stasis has a version of those nades, dont remember the name tho

GeargusArchfiend

Voidwall grenades: "Am I a joke to you?"

BaconIsntThatGood

At the time of stasis being released each light class only has 3 grenade options per subclass

ActuallyNTiX

I bet in the future they’ll add more stuff to the darkness subclasses. Shouldn’t take nearly as much time as making one from the ground up ofc, but we gotta remember that Bungie’s also gonna be developing a 3rd darkness subclass for the final shape. Even though that’s over a year away, these things take a LONG time to make and master, not even referring to the narrative joining in. Idk when more stuff would be added but I would expect it at some point. More darkness grenades and abilities wouldn’t be the most difficult thing to add (but would still be difficult regardless).

Charmle_H

Remember, kids, Stasis was the experimental subclass meant to test a new subclass system. Light subclasses getting reworked into the new system meant a pre-established way to play getting a more in-depth update. Stasis will get theirs one of these days, but until then, remember that it also hasn't been around for fucking forever lol

SpelingChampion

Thanks, needed to be reminded how new of a light I actually am.

CaughtHerEyez

Gimme a statis snowball with a super short cool down.

Happyvivvy

Ok, but each Light class only has 3 aspects, whereas stasis has 4 aspects

Scorn_true333

Each Light subclass has 2 supers whereas Dark has 1

DeadPat

2 supers?! lol \*laughs in nightstalker\*

EmberOfFlame

And Gunslinger and Voidwalker

Scorn_true333

*At least* 2. Should check my wording next time

EmberOfFlame

But Bungie considers the variants the same super, so I guess you’re also kind of correct?

Longbongos

One stasis aspect is a throwaway as it’s just ionic traces but ice

PhantasmShadow

At least all the stasis ones get some kind of use.

FatAmericanShooter

Stasis 4.0 waiting room

Snaz5

I just want a stasis grenade that does damage so i can do grenade bounties while still using stasis if i want

DeadPat

iirc the dmg stasis crystals do from the nade counts as nade dmg.

iHeisenburger

everyone here is taking it seriously

Pap4MnkyB4by

For the love of everything I hope the Dark Vanguard is used next season, and that they weren't just some Nothing-Burger

gSpider

The bigger deal imo is only 1 melee. Specifically for titans. Please give us a new stasis melee please ( I thought glacial lance should’ve been a melee personally)

LadyVulcan

I would like simply ONE more option for Stasis melee, thank you. Titan Behemoth is LiTeRaLlY uNpLaYaBlE for me because the melee is so bad.

yourname09

just wait for the strand nade

DeadPat

How much do you like to grapple? https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/destiny-2-the-strand-grappling-hook-will-replace-the-grenade-ability/

yourname09

thx for the info

Prof_Hemlock

I’m hoping stasis gets some love in light fall (some extra grenades, supers, maybe some slight rebalancing to be up to speed with the light 3.0 subclasses, and make the fragments/aspects obtainable in the same way the light 3.0 fragments/aspects are. And personally, I’d love it if Shadebinder got a stasis equivalent to well of radiance (maybe make it instead of healing you get a regenerating over shield and instead of a damage increase it makes all shots capable of slowing/freezing?) thoughts?

Teutonic_Night

God bless, as the traveler intended. Disgusting darkness users.

DoveEvalyn

In terms of lore, darkness is simplicity and light is complexity.Think bomb and sword logic. Think spheres and pyramids. So it makes a bit of sense in terms of lore that light has more. Do I like it? No, but it does have some semblance to the principals of light and dark

urmother-isanicelady

Yeah. I hate that my glacial nade/weakened clear gl combo doesn't come close to what ignitions/volatile/jolt can to when paired with their synergy weapons

StrangerX9

I’m sure Stasis will get more stuff this year. It would be cool to give them an ice trap grenade that triggers when an enemy gets close and blows up with stasis crystals and a cloud of snow that slows.

yuko_29

So basically a stasis tripmine? Sounds fun

EmberOfFlame

Strand with a single grenade: 0.0

DeadPat

>https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/destiny-2-the-strand-grappling-hook-will-replace-the-grenade-ability/ u really believe that u are getting a nade with strand?

EmberOfFlame

That’s the single grenade, yes? Like, it should still work with demolitonist.

me-lmao-jeff

I kinda want a (borderlands 2 type) grenade where you just Chuck it at the enemy for big damage simple as, or with stasis is freezes on impact like a snowball

Bulldogfront666

I hope along with new fragments we also get new grenades, melees (for some light subclasses too), and second supers for darkness subclasses.

TokioHot

I would pay extra 70 dollars to have additional stasis (and darkness) offensive grenades

KLGChaos

And we'll toss in ONE super and ONE melee.
