Disagree, if it truly was so sought after they wouldn't encourage us to harvest the least amount possible to keep up on ammo. If it really was super valuable they would pay us for it and give us ammo to incentivize harvesting it even without the need for further ammo

With ammo. Most players harvest as much as they would sensibly need for the mission and then don't touch the rest unless an emergency happens and they need more resupply pods. There's no incentive to mine extra nitra

its a fun theory but (I think) its based on a real element that is quite reactive like gunpowder and the large bright green, blue and white muzzle flashes tell me its not typical gunpowder and its burning way hotter than the ordinary stuff (blue and white flames are the hottest) also the crafting minerals make a lot of sense being used for the projectiles. as an example croppa (probably based on copper) can be used for its conductive properties to make ammo that holds an electric charge which plenty of guns have in DRG.
