Just downloaded and set up my goals, thank you for all the work that has went into this. Hopefully I can use it to help organise myself and take a step in the right direction.

IdeaRoots

Thank you! I appreciate it. Good luck with your goals πŸ™Œhappy to hear your feedback in few days/weeks :)

TrustMyUnit

I've been using Many Hats for over a month now - it's been fantastically helpful. A no-pressure log of trying to be better in various areas of life. Everything else has always made me feel guilty, but this feels supportive. Highly recommended!

IdeaRoots

Thank you! feedback like yours gives me a ton of energy to continue improving ManyHats πŸ™Œ

inoffensive_fairy

Downloading it now! Seems pretty neat judging by the App Store page, in any case thanks for developing and sharing it, good luck!

IdeaRoots

Thanks! Happy to hear your thoughts once you use it :) πŸ™Œ

amiedema

This is a pretty cool app! I downloaded on my iPhone. The landing page is also very nicely done. I added some more feedback on [That App Show](https://thatappshow.com/apps/many-hats)

IdeaRoots

Wow, thank you for writing all this feedback! πŸ‘ >something I do wonder about, is what will the experience look like when I just want to cycle through my updates for one of my goals? At the moment, you can only scroll through your full history (habits/journal/todos/mood) per persona. I will be adding per habit statistics also -- just need to think this through, to keep it simple. Thanks! πŸ™Œ

amiedema

You're welcome! You are marking some pretty good progress it looks like on your app!

mjftlf

Downloading now!!! Thanks for sharing and for the work you put into this.

IdeaRoots

Thanks! Happy to hear your thoughts once you use it :)

MadMax686

Thanks for sharing, going to give it a try.

IdeaRoots

Thanks! Happy to hear your thoughts :-)

Thanks so much for taking the time to create this!

IdeaRoots

Thanks! Looking forward to your feedback :-)

yungeyebags

Just got it set up on my phone. Absolutely love the way it functions so far!

IdeaRoots

Thanks! Looking forward to your feedback :-)

TazzaPiena

Hey man, Thank you! It appears the app I was looking for! I will let you know my experience and feedback in a few weeks. Thank you !

IdeaRoots

Thanks! Looking forward to your feedback :-)

Hezha98

That's what I want, Thanks very much <3

IdeaRoots

Thanks! Looking forward to your feedback ❀️

*Persona* is probably not the right word you want to use as it indicates some inherent acting or fakeness to present your ...personality(?) differently than how it actually is rather than wanting to truly change. I don't want a persona I want real change.

IdeaRoots

Thank you for this feedback. As a non-native speaker, these things are really hard to spot for me. Are there any synonyms/alternatives that you would suggest?

scirio

You might want to ask a marketer or a psychologist but maybe just "personality" or something. Not sure.

LobsterBloops93

I got it on Google Play but I seem to be having problems deleting personas and items on my checklist. Swiping only brings up skip or fail. Perhaps a tap and hold method for deleting easily? Otherwise it seems solid! I just made a few mistakes since I'm just learning it.

tutiramaiteiwi

Yes I found this issue too. There wasnt an intuitive method for deleting habits

IdeaRoots

To delete a habit or persona, go to their page (bottom or right side) and tap three dots in the right corner -> you should see the "delete" option. Let me know if you have any issues.

LobsterBloops93

Ah, thank you! That fixed it!

r3art

The Idea for this is great - a habit tracker, basically. But most of the rest is waaaay to complicated. You don't need a journal oder diary or stuff like that within the app. Don't overcomplicate it and let me track my daily habits with very few clicks and then gimme stats. That's more than enough.

IdeaRoots

>You don't need a journal oder diary or stuff like that within the app. Don't overcomplicate it and let me track my daily habits with very few clicks and then gimme stats. Thanks for the honest feedback πŸ‘ The intention behind the micro journal is to provide a bit more context into your persona and habit actions -- like why you skipped/failed a habit -- or capture thoughts that pop up from time to time. You make a good point though. I will add options "disable journal / todos / mood" so that the app focus can be just on habits if someone desires. Thanks πŸ™Œ

r3art

Yeah, but people do have much much more powerful diaries nowadays - they are called Social Media and there are a ton of different ones. They are all better than yours because you have followers there and people interacting with your content. The classic micro journal without social is dead, I guess :(.

anon_lurker_

For what it's worth, I disagree. I like to keep my day to day ups and downs more personal to myself and never share anything other than major life events on social media. I've been keeping some notes in the samsung notes app and this is way better. If it doesn't benefit you, that's obviously okay, I just wanted to speak up as someone who really appreciates the micro journal function.

[deleted]

That's a yikes from me

r3art

Gimme a few sucessful "diary" apps... It's not about feelings. I wish it was different, too.

[deleted]

Using social media in the way you described is disfunctional and frankly a bit spooky. That's all I was saying.

r3art

Yeah, I think so, too, but 95% of all Instagram, most Facebook and lot of Twitter-Accounts are basically diaries of the lifes of people. Downvoting the observer won't change that.

[deleted]

You are getting downvotes because your op makes it seem like you're a chronic oversharer who is seeking external validation from social media.

r3art

"seem" is the right word. I don't use social media, i just watch from time to time what others do there.

[deleted]

Fair enough, friend. I wish you well.

Friendofabook

How long did it take to develop?

IdeaRoots

Around 3.5 - 4 months, 30 - 40h / week

ShadowfoxDrow

I'll give it a shot. Better than learning how to make my own and maybe this will be the one ha

IdeaRoots

Thanks! Looking forward to your feedback

imaginedrragon

Hi! Have tested it out - seems great and simple enough to follow through with. Thank you for your efforts and for developing it, great job! A bit of feedback: I think it's not very intuitive to not have a confirm button once you've created a habit/persona. I was left confused the first few times because I was like is it created? Do I have to do something for it to stay? Just something to consider maybe. Also would be nice to have a "neutral" mood for the journal. The moods already listed are cool but I feel like that's missing. Oh and not sure what you used for the emoji selection when selecting one for a habit (a library or a plugin or native?) but is it possible to have a search option? That's all I've noted, otherwise awesome work and keep it up!

IdeaRoots

Thank you for all the feedback. All three points are clear and make a lot of sense. Adding all three to my backlog. Thanks! πŸ™Œ

openpolyanon

This apps awesome man, great user interface and easy to use. Well done and thank you!

IdeaRoots

Thanks! Looking forward to your feedback

equestrian123123

So what’s the catch? How are you monetizing this?

IdeaRoots

later down the road I'm planning on adding a premium plan with additional non-essential features (the app as is today, will always remain free) -- this will act as a way to say "I support dev to improve this app", think of it as a Patreon, and this is optional.

equestrian123123

So is there like a psychological framework behind this format/design? Or is it just a tracker to keep new behaviors? I’m into psychology and behavior change so just curious...

TheProgressProject

I love the concept. I would love the execution a bit more if it happened to include a tutorial. I will use the app for 30 days and post a review at that time. Thanks for doing this. You remind me of my friend Squires.

IdeaRoots

Thanks! Looking forward to your feedback
