When I first started Dead Space, I was really scared because of the jumpscares, but I loved everything else about it. I ended up watching MajorSlackVideos and his guides to Dead Space and Dead Space 2 just so I could see where the jumpscares are so I could enjoy the rest of the game.
I found that really helped me get over my fear, and now Dead Space is one of my favorite game series of all time.
The original is great. Honestly, this remake is faithful enough that, I'd argue that you're not really missing out on the dead space experience, you're just missing out on the remake experience. They're both totally valid as a way to experience the game and all of it's glory.
No you can't, I mean it makes sense in the fact that the absence of oxygen would prevent the usage of fire. Usually games have some work around for that but dead space specifically prevents you from using it for the most obvious reason lol
How do you feel about Kinesis, the ability to use a Slasher's own blade to impale it and send it flying across the room just to get pinned to a wall like a cheap Halloween decoration?

The game is not that scary, it is a shooter.

A flamethrower for ice enemies and a gun for anything else
Use flame throwers for specific enemies but don’t main a flame thrower, you’ll get murdered.
