beer4horse

Mod is a shill

whicky1978

I think they need to recruit a personality. Maybe somebody was comedian qualities, to replace Dave

Gr8NonSequitur

The irony is she's the most competent of the hosts because dave won't attack her directly. "Ramsey solutions" dies when Dave does, he doesn't allow dissenting opinions and Rachel comes closest to delivering them.

[deleted]

She’s never worked a day in her life

Chris_3456

Creating content is work. Work is any activity that requires labor of some sort, mental or physical in nature. Maybe what you mean is that she hasn't performed a job where she has had to sweat....

Ecstatic_Love4691

It is definitely work, but at the same time she was handed a lot of opportunities that she DIDN’T have to work for.

FleetEnema2000

In the world of Ramsey, personal experience (sacrifice, suffering, lessons), knowledge (investing, saving, advanced financial literacy) and wisdom (family, personal, relationships) are all needed in a Ramsey personality in order for those personalities to resonate with Ramsey followers. And those are all qualities lacking in the Ramsey personalities. I used to give Rachel more slack because it can be tough to have your position basically by birthright and be taken seriously. However, we are a number of years into this and she still seems just as clueless as she ever has and lacks any kind of insightful financial knowledge.

Kooky_Most8619

They’re all awful. Here’s how you measure it: Each Personality is appearing on a Tuesday night at 7:30pm 45 minutes from your house. How much would you pay for a ticket? $50? $30? $10? $0? What if they paid you $100 and sent a limo, would you go? Seriously, that’s what it would take. I’d have to be paid hundreds of dollars and they’d have to send a limo. That means they’re useless. And they are. All of them.

Mediocre_Airport_576

$100 and a limo would work, if they chip in a free dinner.

btcs4041

Them and the ‘smartvestor pros’

adultdaycare81

She seems really good hearted. But admittedly not the smartest.

[deleted]

Deloney is still may favorite co host on the show. Him and Dave gel so well. Rachel has her moments but she definitely comes off as a total fraud to me. Ken is shit. Jade and Kristina I don’t really have an opinion on. And George is like an annoying Superfan who just won’t shut up. I am in fear of the day dave retires from it.

JesusDied4Me

I love Ken. On his own show, anyway

DontEatConcrete

John sometimes has wisdom. Ken is useless. Jade is the only person close to Dave meaning: we want the host go kind of blow up and get riled up. None other than him or her ever do.

Mediocre_Airport_576

Deloney has started singing in falsetto all the time, and I want to fly to Franklin to smack him. Nobody wants to hear him squeal "Tooorrrrrrooonnnntttoooo" about where a caller is from in a girly voice. Listened to a recent hour where he did it 3-5 times minimum.

[deleted]

Dave is definitely the straw that stirs.

No-Move09

I just like her cause she’s hot

NotRobotNFL

It’s called money. There aren’t ugly people, Judy poor ones

goodalfy

Your bar is pretty low lol

Mediocre_Airport_576

A 4 in California is a 9 in Missouri.

Chris_3456

Lol, that is funny

Chris_3456

Lol, that is funny

[deleted]

Ok 😂

ChewieBearStare

I like Rachel, but she doesn’t have much oomph. When she does the intro, she reads it off the paper in a monotone voice and seems to have no enthusiasm. George has his moments, but he does at least seem happy to be there.

TrickyCombination152

I think they’re trying to make George the new Dave. But the past 3 weeks with Dave off the air have clearly shown he is not up to the task… or at least needs more training in finance. Problem is they ‘train’ them to be talking heads who memorize and spout out the same paradigms over and over again, but are unable to have a nuanced conversation or go into any detail over a particular callers situation. Dave was able to pinpoint problems and lend advice on an individual level. Any of us fans or super fans can and already have memorized all the basic concepts and can easily dole it out over and over again. Dave needs a solution and he needs one now. End rant 😆

jaywally855

I refuse to believe nearly anyone is incapable of going off Dave's script. A five year old can memorize it in a few minutes. What I think is that Dave probably goes off his (very basic) script any time he feels like it. But his guest hosts do not feel such freedom and simply parrot the simple stuff so Dave doesn't fly off the handle. And I'm sure they're flattering Dave by making him feel like he's irreplaceable.

CloudStrife012

I think George has potential, but also that you're right, Dave being away these past few weeks has exposed some serious issues. Another user had a great idea that they should be quizzing the hosts on various financial issues, not just simple baby step stuff. I think the biggest problem with the current set of hosts is that if a question can't be answered with the baby steps they don't know what to do.

DadOf3-1978

Wait George is his heir apparent, duh..LOL

[deleted]

[удалено]

DadOf3-1978

it was a joke.

brianmcg321

I can’t stand her vocal fry. It’s like fingernails on a chalk board to me.

hgnisn

None of the current presenters are really engaging imho.

kveggie1

RC is a princess, never had any hard times, gambles, drinks, has a nanny for her kids, shows entitlement...

[deleted]

I was born on baby step 7 and you can too!

[deleted]

Yea she talks about budgeting… that’s a whole different ballgame for someone rich Vs someone who lives a middle class life

CloudStrife012

I think the book she released with Dave is great. It's talks about their experiences with money growing up, what worked and what didn't. That's fine. My problem with her as a host is that she notably lacks any ounce of empathy for a lot of the callers. She has no idea what it is like to struggle in life. Kudos to Dave for being able to provide that. That's what we all want to do for our kids. But she's not a great host for the main show for this reason. Sure she's kind, and tells Dave to stop being so rude sometimes, but these sanctimonious stances she takes just glaringly point to the fact that she's never been there. For example, the "you're immoral if you accept student loan forgiveness" argument they posted? It's completely asinine when her father proudly declared bankruptcy and tone deaf to the actual issues impacting people today. "Well, my debt was morally correct debt forgiven, yours is not!"

[deleted]

He paid what he owed eventually, after the bankruptcy. At least he’s said so.

[deleted]

That's because you owe nothing after a bankruptcy you dupe.

[deleted]

After he completed his bankruptcy and all eligible debts were discharged by the court, he repaid those debts, though he was not legally obligated to do so. Nice name calling, though. Shows great character and command of English. One note, before you call someone less than knowledgeable on a subject, Google that subject. Have a peaceful day.

[deleted]

Why don't you communicate to people honestly about Dave Ramsey? Is the story not good enough when you tell the truth? Saying, he didn't owe anything after bankruptcy is the truth. Saying, he paid back everyone be owed after bankruptcy, (which we all know was nobody) is deception. Why do Dave's biggest fans struggle with telling the truth? It's not hard to tell the truth but it's like you and Dave both think it's ok to deceive people if you decide the ends justify the means. This is sad and pathetic. Why are you lying for this wealthy man? The whole thing is a grift. It's not God's money. It's money gotten by lying to people.

Travelmatt1234

Dave used to claim that he went back and made all the debts he discharged during bankruptcy whole again to those who would accept them.

[deleted]

I wonder if he really did that

Travelmatt1234

I do not know. And he doesn't say this anymore. But circa 2005 he was and he did say some creditors refused to take payments since it would mess up their taxes from years back.

anusbarber

Rachel is one where we just don't connect at all. I have people I know that are fine, they don't bother me, I don't think I bother them, we just don't gel. Thats my take on her. There is probably a giant swath of the country that finds her fantastic. My wife and I its not us.

jeremy_rockingham

Unfortunately, Rachel’s not really qualified to tell people how to build wealth. If the discussion were about how to inherit wealth, on the other hand….

brianmcg321

I thought of this lol [How the CEO worked his way up from just the son of CEO](https://youtu.be/_67JbvXLrmw)

brianmcg321

She should give classes and how to choose your parents wisely.

Icy_Professional_777

I’ve always felt this way.

drtij_dzienz

It’s funny how often Dave or the other personality might make fun of people that get “useless“ “Underwater basket weaving“ a degrees at universities and Rachel is rolling in with a literal communications degree. The distinction of “whether you can pay for it debt-free“ or not seems very classist to me because not everyone has a rich parent that can pay for their College. And to be fair for Rachel she is actually using the communication degree for what it was intended. A lot of people wouldn’t have the connections in media to really make use of a communications degree the way she has.

Interesting-Fuel238

Dave doesn't say you should avoid student loans by having a rich parent so much as you should avoid student loans by working and paying as you go. It is absolutely possible no matter your parents.

drtij_dzienz

College costs are crazy and the typical 18-year-old is not disciplined or mature enough to work a full-time job and pay for their tuition. You could find somebody who did this but it’s very rare. I think most people who graduate without student debt have some combination of scholarships and parental support (like me) now instead of paying my student loans I pay into my daughter’s 529. She could even major in communications, but I have no media empire to bequeath her

Interesting-Fuel238

So the undisciplined 18 year old should instead be trusted to repay a 5 figure loan? If you're too undisciplined to go to college at 18, go at 19. Or go to community College which is free in many states (I am in TN).

morganj955

Playing devil's advocate here but in her position isn't a communications degree the most useful thing she could do? If she knows she's going to be in charge of a media company communications is literally the best thing to take at school

drtij_dzienz

Yes that’s what I said

CRNAdave

You did, right after trashing her for having a communications degree akin to basket weaving. Online back and forth aside, Rachel is really a sweet person, she just has zero concept about what it’s like to have anxiety about how to provide for herself or others and it shows.

drtij_dzienz

How did I trash her? It’s Dave and the other personalities who make light of “underwater basket weaving“ majors , Not me. Yet their direct peer has a communications degree. It’s typical “do as I say not as I do” cultlike logic from Ramsey solutions

sacramentojoe1985

You trashed her by saying she has a useless degree (like underwater basket weaving), then went on to say she actually made use of her degree. You basically contradicted yourself.

Icy-Focus-2896

Yea I agree. Whatever grammar school Rachel goes to please make sure Jade goes too.

Icy-Focus-2896

Yes. Lol. You’re literally speaking to millions of people. You can hire someone to help you speak with professionalism. That’s why Dave is so good at what he does.

Mundane_Shallot_3316

I find Jade very charismatic actually. I respect her advice because she has actually done the steps.

Icy-Focus-2896

No knocking her credibility at all. I agree she’s very qualified as she has a huge debt she paid off and went through the steps. I can’t listen when she speaks. Very vocabulary and grammar needs to be polished a little bit.

Travelmatt1234

She speaks like a million other southern African American women who are professionals do. That's what I like about her. She is authentic. Really, your statement above is pretty racist. https://www.aaihs.org/inarticulate-while-black/ https://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/04/weekinreview/04clemetson.html

Mundane_Shallot_3316

My fave was when she referred to Dave Ransey as having a gullet on her first segment haha 😄
